The Old Post Office Bakery in Lambeth

Great bread not matched by good customer service considering that on two successive days this weekend they were closed hours after their online advertised opening time (“open seven days a week from 7am”). Moreover there was no opening times information posted on their door - pretty basic stuff - nor any explanation or apology for their closure.

I write this as I eat my lovely croissant however the lady that just served me merely said 2 words to me if you count £1.80 being murmured underneath her breath. She obviously doesn't like her job and frankly the experience made my hangover 10x worse. I hope she is okay.

this was my first visit back to the bakery since lockdown. (I live four miles away and am avoiding buses) Well wowza, bought some Sourdough for me and some mates, the best veggie sausage rolls tis side of the sun and two wonderful pasties. Thank you Old Post Office, I will stretch my tired legs soon and return.

Esta es una panadería pequeña, pero sin duda maximizan el espacio que tienen con una gran variedad de panes, empanadas, tartas y pasteles orgánicos. Es difícil irse con una sola cosa. . . Todo es orgánico y la calidad es de primera. . . Los pasteles de frutas son deliciosos y los panes de masa fermentada son para morirse. El servicio podría mejorarse, especialmente los domingos, cuando los niveles bajan repentinamente. . . A esta persona obviamente no le gusta estar allí o simplemente piensa que el trabajo está por debajo de ella. . . pero eso no significa que todos tengamos que aguantar su falta de habilidades de servicio al cliente. Ahora he evitado ir allí un domingo al recibir la entrega de Little Bread Pedlar, ¡que también es muy agradable!

I've been a customer for years. Their products are always of the best quality, as well as delicious, and their prices are unbeatable, unlike many of the more modern or trendy bakeries who use the term, "organic," to inflate the cost of their goods. During these uncertain times, I'll continue to support this independent bakery, assured that I'm getting proper tasty, wholesome grub made the old fashioned way, whilst supporting the local community. Fantastic range of, "real," breads and the best Sos rolls ever!!

Small shop displaying wonderful organic bread and pastries. Lovely to collect our breakfast pastries to take home plus some cake treats for others later in the day.

They sell what they call a 'spicy veg pasty'. It's neither spicy or very veggie as it's bland and mostly potato.

I'm so lucky to have this as my local bakery. Fantastic value for fresh-baked bread and buns. The Californian sour dough and white bloomers are my favourites. And I can never resist the currant and Chelsea buns

every thing about this places is cool. food, people i tend to have to wait abit sometimes but its never really more than 15min it is very poular place

This firm has been going for about 30 years and is a little gem. The staff however have become more grumpy over the past couple of years but if you go around 6am you will meet the Polish bakers who are super friendly and everything is fresh from the oven.

I've been buying bread here for three months now, and for me is the best. Try the Five seeds or the Californian, both amazing. The rest, pastries, cakes... Are premium quality too, as you can expect from a business that seem to focus on making a really good product that speaks for himself, with an artesanal approach. Absolutely a must!

Hi We ordered 80 sausage roll for our guests after the church service to enjoy before heading to the venue. The sausage rolls turned up on time, piping hot and they where delicious. They where definitely one of the guests highlight of the day, as people appreciated a warm sausage roll rather than a cold over priced canapé. Communication with the backery was extremely easy and I would recommend using them as they food is great and very well priced. Thanks OPOB for such a great service on our wedding day.

I couldn't ask for a better local bakery. This place is perfect and not too clinical as i find a lot of places are nowadays. I've tried most of the savory things on offer and they're all fantastic! Best ciabatta loaf I've ever tried.
