Mixed Grill and a pint of Strongbow with change out of £20, was down there for a monthly social and got some people to play some old arcade games, food was brilliant and the staff treated us well. Big venue as it has a Premier Inn attached.

This place can't be long for this world. Nipped in for a pint on the Wednesday evening before Christmas - a time you'd expect any food-led pub to be heaving. However, there was barely a soul in the pub. There also wasn't a staff member to be seen. We were stood at the bar for over 5 minutes before we had to go and find a member of staff in the kitchen to serve us. Will not be rushing to come back.

Debbie and the team were fantastic in catering to our needs. They made us feel very welcome and the children had fun with them. My 10 year old has said definitely 5⭐️ service from Debbie. Tasty food and a warm family friendly atmosphere.

We decided to have our Christmas Day Christmas Dinner (25th December 2024) at the Old Rectory and not only was it the worse Christmas Dinner it was the worse Dinner I have ever had. Our plate of what I can only describe as left overs from previous days consisted of 2 soggy Yorkshire puddings, a spoon full of cauliflower cheese, a spoon full of red cabbage, 4 carrots the size of match stalks, 4 Brussel sprouts, and rolled up turkey slices. We asked why no potatoes, they brought out 6 roast potato's which were not fresh. It was a warmed up dinner from days gone by, I honestly cannot believe we paid in advance for this awful meal, Old Rectory hold your heads in shame.

Is much improved, Joe who served us was really helpful & friendly We popped in on route back from Stockport, enjoyed a beer & 2 nice Hot drinks, It was well heated and it is extremely spacious Some great value Mon - Fri food deals, with a great menu choice We will be back & more often as you feel more welcomed than you used to be... I only hope that 'Hungry Horse' group have some plan to improve the general up-keep of the building & grounds, even if a bit at a time The Old Rectory can be a leading venue in Stockport, which it deserves to be, much potential here.

Drove down from Scotland to bring my daughter home and booked a night at the premier inn next door, one of the reasons being because you advertised you were open until 10pm, so when i went to the bar at 9 i was rudely told it was closed.

Had a Christmas eve meal So disappointed I had a steak sizzler which was served cold, and the stake floated on a bed of oil.returned the meal which came back sizzling it was a utter mess. Who ever cooked the meal can not cook and present a stake sizzler. I have had some good meals here, but so disappointed this time.

Been a few times in here now and each vist how come we order the same drinks every round but it is a different price each time , (sometimes it can even be the same member of staff that charges us different amounts for the same drinks ) It said there was a area no under 18s so we decided to sit in there but there was kids in there and staff never said anything .

Met up with family for dinner, Paul went above and beyond with his service making our visit very enjoyable. He is an asset to the business he worked hard ensuring everyone was happy and was great with my son. The food was ok but the service was fabulous.

Nice meal good price good service

We had breakfast as part of our Premier Inn stay, it was so disappointing. We waited to be seated as instructed but eventually just walked in and found a table. The breakfast area was dirty as was the cutlery and table. The choice was poor and what they did offer were empty. Quality of products were poor. When the breakfast eventually arrived it was cold. The experience was awful and would definitely not return!

I know this a great pub i used to work in kitchen many years ago great staff especially Paul Clarkson who is nice guy who will out of his way to help you but unfortunately he is a Bolton fan lol

We did enjoy our Lunch at old rectory on a fun day discovering about stockport. All our time there was excellent due to the great service and attention by Kelsea, Jessica and the gentleman at the bar that unfortunately I forgot to ask for his name. Seriously their food is amazing and the enviroment is so cool. Totally worth visiting

Had a fantastic breakfast here one morning. It was that nice and the were that friendly we decided to come back for a steak. Their rump steak was perfect, I was a little disappointed with the number of chips you get but after the massive steak it was just enough, but it's nice to be greedy. Super friendly staff every time we have been nice. Super clean and beautiful building. Oh and candy ice cream desert was so good !!

We had our works Christmas meal at the Old Rectory for 20 people and had an excellent experience. Kelsea made organising the meal a dream, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of. Craig was our server and was friendly, attentive and kind. Everybody enjoyed all of their food, and their whole experience of the night. We will definitely be returning for any further events that we arrange.

Lovely food, it was clean and warm and has some very interesting features to the building. Staff were friendly.

We booked the Old rectory for our Christmas do. So glad we did. Table for 20, beautifully laid out. We chose from both the Christmas and the normal menu. We all paid separately and it was seamless. Great food, for all 3 courses and we all had different meals. Kelsey and Craig were brilliant, looked after us really well and everyone enjoyed their meal. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Surprised to see the low rating I thought the food was alright and staff friendly. I mean it cheap food at a hungry horse not exactly going to be artisan bespoke burgers like other reviews are complaining about is it? Plus the pub look amazing.

Amazing food, the 8 ounce children’s rump steak was very juicy and had a fret texture, one of the workers called Frankie was great with my order and service!

I have had previous issues in the past but decided to give here a go after many years later and am not one to leave a review but the staff member josseph was extremely welcoming and made me have faith in the old rectory again so much so I have now started coming here a couple more times with friends and family who now rate the place as a good local pub

Hate to say it but won’t be returning. Used to be very pleasant and food used to be very good and very busy. I don’t know what’s happened but it’s on its last legs. It’s such a shame as it was a nice pub grub sort of place….. 1.now you can feel and smell the grease 2. Was dead 3. Food was yak Don’t get me wrong I’m not fussy but it’s gone really downhill. Feel like i wasted my money….i used to walk out and be full and happy. It must be the food unfortunately and words got around and it’s too late……it is a shame like I said used to be very good.

Lovely visit today, staff was so friendly nd understanding with one of m child eat issues. His asd and they was very accommodating. I think it was the manger who even came over to make sure it was all OK. It's really means alot to us when places help like this as means I can eat my food hot and enjoy it. It was all lovely and clean. Would definitely go back when we go back up that way.

We visited as we enjoyed the hungry horse menu at another venue. We arrived and noticed restaurant was very quiet. We placed our food order and this came out quite quickly. To our horror whilst eating we saw a mouse run around the floor of the main restaurant and into the lower conservatory area. We highlighted this to the server who told the manager. He was very dismissive and called it danger mouse. We took a video of this and from the droppings on the window sill this had been around for a while. First and last visit. We reported this back to head office who didn't offer any apology.

I've never stayed here before and I was shocked at how beautiful the conservatory was. A lovely warm breakfast area. Keeley was superb. A welcoming smile and a polite manner. Just what you want when staying away from home. Breakfast was hot, fresh and served rather quickly. Thank you.

Joe and Kelsey looked after us really well a couple of weeks ago despite being super busy. Joe is always lovely and chatty on the bar!

Service and food, simply terrible. They promote their app for ordering food and drinks but no one takes any notice when you use it. Waited over 30 minutes for two drinks to arrive. Food was very cheap in quality and a place we will not be returning to.

Based on the latest reviews we went there for food , got the Sunday roast and it was not good , gravy was less ( the menus said there would be loads and more) , veg was tasteless , meat was just ready cut nothing special, only reason for the one star is because the Yorkshire pudding was crispy. The mash was not even white it was beige in colour and had a weird tast. Will not be going back again, and will not be recommending it to anyone. The worst part of the dining experience was the fact that the restaurant was very cold 🥶

The “Super Specials” in the menu were great, scrumptious and generous portions. Joe served us really well and the building is just beautiful.

Great stay here while working away can’t thank our favorite Debbie enough for looking after us! Kept a smile on our face with her taped up glasses and banter ❤️
