Came here jan 14th the staff were friendly and kind and the food was great just the biscoff cake tasted awful and the service was quite slow too

Took some friends who were visiting for lunch. The food was its usual excellent quality. Good service, efficient and friendly.

Always warm and welcoming staff. As soon as you walk in they know your drink. Always have god banter and chat with everyone even if not a regular. Cosy atmosphere one of the nicest pubs I've been in.

Place was a bit cold. (So was the weather) Staff friendly and efficient. Food always consistent standard and great value.

Absolutely love The Plough in Houghton Green. Food is unreal, drinks are reasonably priced and I love the 2 for 1 cocktails on a Friday and Saturday. Staff are also all lovely and helpful. Favourite pub

This was a meeting for myself and a friend from school, 40 years ago. She lives in Leeds and was on her way to Liverpool for a family event and I live in Bolton. I booked online as The Plough is close to M62. We both received a lovely welcome. The menu is excellent with plenty of choice. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The prices are competitive. I would highly recommend.

Food was really nice, great friendly service. Tyler was very hospitable and asked many times if the food etc was okay. We ordered the Flamin BBQ meat sharer, tasty and value for money.

Food was amazing as always, came in for my nephew’s birthday and was looked after by Ellie who was fantastic we come here often and it’s always fantastic

Felt let down by the server’s behind the bar . When in the queue ordering food the server was prepared to serve people she new were trying to jump the queue. The same server was serving people she new before the people who were waiting. On a positive the beer was good

Food was bland and burn plus over cooked Food was burn plus over cooked Waste of Money It was our ruby wedding and we went to the plough , BAD mistake My starter was burnt and dry, Lamb kofta , wife ordered garlic mushrooms but the mushrooms was left under the light too long and went crispy Main meals I ordered Tikka Tandoori 2 flame-grilled tandoori chicken thighs * these was cheap slices of chicken in a sloppy sauce not even grilled ), 4 chicken wings coated in a smoky tikka rub ( these was plain no rub, an onion bhaji and smoky tikka tater tots ( not smokey just plain, with a cheap curry sauce in a gravy boat that has a thick skin on it ). Well we got off to a bad start when being greated with the most unfriendly host who shown us to our table. I havent been in the pub for about 30+yrs and will definitely not be going back again. No advice on ordering food, table or order at the bar would of been a nice gesture. So got up to order me food, que'd up to be told I needed a certain till to order me food, so the guy toddled off to go serve somebody else who just come in then realised the person in front of me was taking so long so ended up serving me at a "different" till...the lying sod We ordered the sharing plater for starters which I realised I didnt have the garlic bread which is on the menu, I asked the waitress who shouted back into the kitchen to say have we still no garlic bread!! This should of been pointed out whilst ordering food, not a problem like but stop conning people. Garlic bread came with mains. Well I ordered fish, chips peas, bread and butter. It was rubbish, now wonder the food is cheap. The chips looked and tasted like they had been kept on a hot plate to keep them warm. Whilst trying to chill with the hubster, we had a member of staff getting a right telling off, thats not for the general public to hear!! I also seen the guy talking to a member of staff like dirt, public dont need to see and hear this. I left most of my food and so did the hubster On paying I was asked how my food was, told her I won't be coming back.

Great food at reasonable prices, especially if you buy 2 meals as the price is £14. Quiz on a Friday is a good experience and…is free!

Family gathering of eleven. Easy to order, food came quick and plates were emptied. Spot on. Really enjoyable evening.

Excellent service by Letti considering that she and another lady were rushed off their feet during a busy period. The Manager and Team leader did turn up after the busy period, just a suggestion but couldn't a member of staff start earlier to help out with the lunchtime rush. As some customers were sighing whilst waiting to make their order.

Busy on a Friday night you need to book. Plenty of tables outside we just need the sun.. excellent staff Adam/Kirstie/Tom/Lettie/Tyler/Mike and everyone else.

Went for Christmas Day dinner group of 14. All I can say is amazing .we need space for a wheelchair not a problem ,food amazing we go out every Christmas best food we have had ,staff fantastic nothing to much trouble . As a big group it can be people waiting but this didn’t happen service was great. We will be returning again and would highly recommend.

We go to The Plough evey last Friday before Christmas. Four adults and two kids for £62 (with Bluelight card) Then two for one on the cocktails 🍸Hour delay on thd food bugbthag is to be expected, this time of year. Cocktails helped. Food was hotcand fresh.

We came for the festive menu. The starter was ok, the roast turkey dinner was really disappointing. Most of the food was overcooked, the turkey was very strange tasting and there was no cranberry sauce. They didn't have the dessert we had pre-ordered and there was only 3 options to start with. It was all a bit of a shambles. Won't be visiting again.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was mediocre steak quite tough and bland. Nothing to write home about.

Went for Sunday lunch. Yorkshire pud was like rubber. Roasties like bullets and veg overcooked. Worst Sunday roast I've had.

We went to the Elvis tribute show combined with two course meal, 13 of us all our food was delivered on time and was delicious, the tribute was very entertaining and Adam and is staff were very friendly and welcoming, I would recommend the plough.

Over the last couple of months something has changed with the food quality. The meats are overcooked and dry no flavour or juices . There has been a few times I’ve asked for ask for no mayonnaise and it comes with it on (double asked the bar staff to make sure) but the kitchen must be on another planet . Quality has to be top and it’s far from it at moment.
