Warm, family friendly place to eat, drink, and chat. Excellent brunches and lots of seating. Especially with the newly improved outdoor area. Mondays: 2 for 1 pizzas. Tuesdays: 2 for 1 burgers. 2 for 1 brunch (served until 12) for NHS and Blue Light Card holders.

The plough has always been a favourite but this week I had lunch with friends. The mains were fine except they got the wrong order for one of my friends and had to take it back. Secondly, the brownie I had was uncooked, compared to my friend's brownie (she had the same). When pointed out to the waitress she replied - 'it was cooked in the same batch', clearly not! No offer of reimbursement. As a result my stomach has been a bit dodgy since Tuesday..... wonder why! The prices in comparison to the food are way too expensive and that goes for the service which has declined over the past few years. I will not be going back again as there are better places to eat at in Harborne.

I normally love The Plough for a meal and had heard great things about The Plough's Sunday roast. We ordered the roast beef with sides of cauliflower cheese. All of the vegetables were great and very tasty, but the Yorkshire pudding was rock hard and the beef was incredibly salty, so much so that I left the majority of it. The two friends I was with also found the beef very salty, but did eat more of it than I did. I did mention this to the waitress who took our plates and she said she would let the chef know. The sticky toffee pudding, however, was delicious.

We have been to the plough a few times so knew the high standards it keeps. I wanted a relexaed birthday brunch with my husband so we came down. I had the veggie breakfast and he has the house breakfast. Both were lovely and the expectional standards we are used to at the Plough. However, on this occasion the food was not the star of the shows. The star was the lovely server, Liv. Liv really made my birthday, she gave me a complimentary bilini and catered to us with a smile. Very helpful, friendly and chatty. I was a waitress for many years when I was younger and as such really appreciate good customer service. Friendliness and care go a long way, a small gesture from Liv actually had a huge impact on my day and my 31st birthday. Thanks Liv Ps - management, give this girl a raise.

Friendly welcome and speedy service. Atmosphere was good, chilled but place was busy. Pigs and blankets ans garlic bread with mozzarella were both brilliant! Chorizo and ham pizza, to be honest was average (has been years since I was last there). Cuban sandwich with with turkey brie / cranberry, was also average. The toasted bread was very firm and the fillings lacked much flavour, too much cheese and not enough meat. The dipping sauce was spicy and really tasty. You do pay a premium, it was expensive for what it was. Not sure if return in a hurry.

We pay a small penny to go to The Plough every 3/4 weeks speeding upto £150.00 per visit however if you are going to offer table service then the service should match the expectations. We amongst many others waited ages for drinks orders to be taken. Staff walking past without looking in the direction of customers. This is not what we have experienced before. It seems management were not at the venue and some staff, (not all) were not up to the job. Unfortunately this will be our last visit as now you have stopped serving Amstel draft beer we will be going elsewhere…….. It’s sad as we’ve been going for over 20 years. It was bad enough not serving Grey Goose vodka, but now getting rid of AMSTEL is the last straw. Thank you for the good times..

The Plough in Harborne is a fantastic spot with a vibrant atmosphere and a welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at ease. The décor is stylish yet cozy, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal or drinks with friends. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. From hearty mains to tempting small plates, there’s something for everyone on the menu. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. The only drawback is that it’s a bit on the pricey side, which might make it more of a treat than a regular go-to. However, given the quality of the food and the atmosphere, it’s worth it for a special occasion or indulgent outing. Overall, a great choice for good food and a great vibe in Harborne!

The food was very oily and we could barely eat it, we had to ask to order as interactions with staff were very limited and it is very very over priced for what we had 20 for fish and chips and 20 for a burger ? For it to be covered in oil and dirty oil as the chips were a dark brown colour and working in kitchens you can tell this is not a well maintained one

I have eaten Sunday lunch at the Plough more times than I care to remember, this is probably the first negative comment I have made. First of all the Service was outstanding and the food was cooked brilliantly, as per normal. However, the change in vegetables supplied with the Sunday lunch were not the norm and they just weren't up to the same standards, and the amount given was not as generous as they normally are. When we spoke to the waitress, she was amazing, polite, courteous and explained its possible a seasonal thing, however the veg replaced is still in season so we were not convinced. The decision to up the price of the lunch, split the Cauliflower Cheese from the meal and charge extra for it was one thing, but to now provide substandard veg takes the Plough out of first choice for a Sunday meal unfortunately.

The Plough has always maintained a special ambiance and a welcoming atmosphere, however the food pricing is now such that unless you are availing yourself of it’s 2 for 1 offers you’re paying a high price to eat there. Pizzas are nearly £20 and nowhere near as good as competitors such as Rudy’s. In short it’s become a burger or pizza pub and offers little else and certainly nothing special on its (relatively small) menu.

The staff were pleasant throughout the evening but this does not detract that we were seated outside on a cold September night and received overpriced though basic food. If this is Hip then the Birmingham culinary status has a long way to climb.

Firstly I must say the staff were nice and friendly. However this does not detract from the overpriced menu served at our table in the back garden in September which was cold to say the least. How much should a poke bowl cost in the midlands? The reviews saying this is 'hip' cannot excuse the poor value, even for Birmingham, which will remain in a culinary dessert for some time if this is the norm.
