Nice pub to get fish and chips.

On a visit from the United States I stopped in for Sunday Roast on a visit to the Imperial War museum. I was treated to a delicious dinner with all the trimmings by gracious and friendly hosts. I would highly recommend the Prince of Wales.

Excellent British fare. We had the cottage pie & lamb shank. I would add photos but we had already started eating before I thought of it. This is a classical British pub, nothing fancy...

Wonderful food and warm people! We have enjoyed our food and the very nice conversation with Cristina. We will definitely visit again!

We wanted to find a traditional English pub and we hit the jackpot!!! Jenny was our server and she was wonderful. Recommended a beer she thought I would enjoy and it was great. We had the roasted chicken and the cottage pie both delicious. All in all we couldn't have asked for more!! Highly recommend.

Great little local with friendly landlord. Good for a function and has loads of TVs for sport and a couple of areas tucked out back that makes it much bigger than it first looks yet cosy all around. Don't miss out on the big bowl of cheesy chips.

Good place to drink, nice vibe, friendly waiter and boss, can’t help drink more, four stars of beef burger. You can also watch the Premier League ( ̀⌄ ́)

Friendly staff and quick service, lots of seating at the bar or tables, free Wi-Fi, big TVs, and the Sunday roast beef was really yummy.

I’ve drank here a couple of times now and always found it pleasant but I really enjoyed it when I attended a party here recently when the pub team were so helpful and accommodating in ensuring we all had a lovely time, including helping us with our own music and food.

After visiting the War Museum (which I recommend) we looked for a place to eat quickly since we were in a bit of a hurry. We found this place that already had good reviews. We wanted fish & chips and it is the best I have ever tried. The staff are super friendly and the place is the typical bar that you expect in London. They served us super fast.

Yeah found the place finally. May be close to the IWM but full of locals, a lot Irish. The owner stopped for a chat and just watching people. Good suggestion on a beer. The pie was great and they added salad as I said no chips or gravy. Great taste and nice presentation

Had a lovely lunch with my family at this pub! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a family meal. The food was good and came out quickly, and our server, Leandro, was especially attentive and friendly.

Le premier soir nous y sommes allé à 2 couples et ça nous à tellement plu que nous y sommes revenus le lendemain soir avec les ados !! Très bonne cuisine typique ( fish and chips, burger, agneau, tourtes etc…) service rapide et très agréable prix de 11 à 19£ donc vraiment abordable pour Londres. Je conseille vivement et un grand merci à Leandro et Werner pour leur service sympathique et efficace !!

Great Food. We had fish & chips, burger and chicken nuggets. All dishes were high class pub quality! Nazz gave very delicious beer recommendations - and our little daughter got a free ice cream dessert. We will definitely come again!

We had Cottage Pie with mash and vegetables, lamb shank with vegetables. They were absolutely delicious. Staff were very helpful, the rest of the customers were very friendly.

If you aren't from London and you have come to enjoy, make sure to go out of your way to experience the Prince of Wales. Don't just learn about the people buried beneath stones at Westminster, go and eat warm, wonderful food amongst the warm and wonderful people. Have a pint and watch the locals playing snooker. The bar, the food, the service, and the people felt like coming home. Steak and gravy pie, fish n chips, sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. I wished I had room to eat and drink more! Also, fabulously affordable...

Traveling around London for the first one and came upon this spot. Had the Sunday roast and very much enjoyed it. Great atmosphere with an even greater meal and drinks.

Uriges Pub mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung und köstlichem Fish and Chips. Es war rappelvoll mit locals, wir die einzigen Touristen, auf den Fernsehern lief Pferderennen, im Nebenraum wurde Billiard gespielt. Hinter dem Haus ein Biergarten. Sehr zu empfehlen!

The owner and his team were amazing. We had a baby shower in this pub and they could not do enough for us. The food that’s was laid on was 10/10 price of drinks were very reasonable and the space was brilliant . Highly recommended a visit to a good old fashioned warm welcome and genuine hospitality. This place is delightful. Great service. Friendly staff. Clean. Lots of room to spread out. Good selection of drinks. The food is incredible. The curry chips are phenomenal. Bangers and mash are really good. Sunday roast was excellent, and very happy they included a side of horseradish (a must for roast).

Have come here quite a few times now and every time the customer service is top notch, warm and friendly staff. The tables and seating all clean and comfortable. Food is great, very fairly priced and screens are large, perfect for football.

The wife and I come down to London 2-3 times a year and always come to The Prince of Wales for the absolutely brilliant food and drink. The staff are so friendly which helps make a great atmosphere. The Sunday roasts are the best we have ever had, the portions are huge and the food is absolutely delicious. If you are in London you have to visit this brilliant pub for the amazing food, drink and atmosphere. A special mention to Sheila who makes the best bloody Mary's and Werner the host.

Great pub close to the imperial war museum. On a very hot day, nice air-conditioning in two bars, Jenny the bar maid made us feel very welcome, the food was good and fresh. Would highly recommend if you're in the area.

I am a regular at this pub and have never had a problem, Until today. The final of the Eurocup! A guy called Harry, apart from being overbearing, rude and a lousy host. When I told him that the men's room is a lake full of piss. And to please clean it up. He looks at me, laughs and makes fun of me. Saying that the cleaner will come next week. What a discredit to this fine bar. Building a place dedicated to serving people is difficult. And with this kind of people it becomes impossible, a pity

We literally chose this pub because it was between the Imperial War Museum and our tube station (Elephant&Castle). What a wonderful choice! Our server, Jenny, was friendly and helpful. My husband ordered the roast chicken which was actually a Sunday Roast so it included roast vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding. He said the chicken was cooked perfectly. I ordered Bangers and Mash. It came with lots of peas and a very tasty beef gravy. I didn't eat it all (but I wanted to), because I was saving room for the blackberry and apple crumble that we ordered. We got there around 5 which is a bit early for dinner and the cook was on their break. Jenny took our orders so they were waiting for them when they returned. The food was hot and delicious! The prices were reasonable, and the location (for us) could not have been better! I wish we lived in the same country so we could come back!

We came to this place to watch a football game and have a dinner. The first of all, we were by two different waiters asked to change a table three times, which we found a bit rude and it certainly did not feel very welcoming. Then we had here some Sunday roast, the food was eatable, but the meat was completely overcooked. Lastly, we were automatically charged 12,5 % service charge without even notifying us, which have not happened to us anywhere else in British restaurants/pubs. To sum up, we were quite disappointed to our visit and perhaps this place is more meant for locals. P.S. I am pretty sure I reviewed the correct pub, we watched a football game in your terrace, see picture. Menu and address on it is the same as well.

Been to the Prince of Wales a couple of times. Cracking boozer and very reasonably priced. Irish landlord knows how to pour a cracking Guinness. Favourite pub in Elephant.

Had several really enjoyable meals at this pub and all of the staff were welcoming to these visitors from “Oz” and gave us plenty of great ideas for our stay in London.

I cannot express enough how lovely the staff are here and the owners who demonstrated such empathy recently when we held the wake here for our sisters passing and subsequently had a small family gathering here two months later for what would have been her 60th birthday. We used the function area and were allowed to decorate to our desire which made it even more special. When we went to view we knew it was the perfect venue for us. It's a warm and welcoming atmosphere and colours were just perfect for what we wanted. They could not do enough for us and we will never forget their kindness and support through these difficult times. The buffet they catered for was delicious and met all our guests food needs. I would recommend this venue 10/10 with merit. Thank you for everything, we will see you again very soon!

Representative of a real local English pub, off the tourist trail. The pleasure of watching a cricket match on live TV while admiring drunk old English people playing billiards while burping, it's worth the detour! I would have appreciated more tasty savory dishes but the hot crumble is heavy and the Guinness is served according to the rules of the art.

We ended up in this restaurant purely by chance. Not only the staff and the boss were very friendly, but also the English guests. We found a really typical English restaurant here with a cold beer and delicious food. We can really recommend the restaurant for tourists. We would like to come back.

A really lovely pub with the most helpful, welcoming and friendly staff. My aunt sadly passed away this year and we held her wake there. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my family and friends were comfortable. We had a really lovely time considering the circumstances. So much so that we decided to go back to celebrate what would have been my aunts 60th birthday. The staff prepared a selection of delicious food at a great price. Again, they were so friendly, helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we were happy. Some of us had our children with us and they accommodated them too. I would highly recommend! 😊

We came here for some typical English food. The chicken and mushroom pie was good (4 stars), the cottage pie was a bit bland (3 stars). With the pies come a selection of either fried and salad or vegetables - we recommend fries and salad (4 stars) since it has much more flavor than the veggies. The only regional beer was a Guiness, we were hoping on a broader variety. Service and atmosphere were okay, but no more - we experienced places where we felt much more welcomed.

Stopped here for some beers with my dad after a visit to the Imperial War Museum with my dad. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and the beer was excellent. What more could you want?

I tried this place because one of the reviews described it as having a “convivial atmosphere.” Indeed it did! As a solo traveler visiting from the US, this was the UK pub experience I was hoping to have. Friendly staff and friendly locals ready to chat you up. It made me think of the “Cheers” bar. The first room had a pool table, but the bartender, quickly sensing this wasn’t my scene, directed me to the larger second room, where jukebox music was playing and said friendly locals were having a few pints. I didn’t venture out to the beer garden, but other reviews say it’s nice. I enjoyed this place so much on a Sunday night that I returned days later for my last night in London.

We came to The Prince Of Wales on Saturday 20th April for my son’s 18th birthday celebrations. Margaret and her team decorated our very own section of the pub so beautifully! The party food was delicious! We had an absolutely fantastic night. Family and friends all together celebrating in such a great fun atmosphere! Great drinks prices.

Best roast I’ve ever had said my son. Little bit insulted🤣🤣🤣. Have to say he’s right but don’t tell him I said so😜. Great food and atmosphere was terrific. Definitely be back. .

I tried the roast beef Sunday Roast and it was outstanding!!!! Don’t eat lunch though. Also tried the sticky pudding with Ice Cream, it was good but a bit too sweet for me; but well balanced with Ice Cream. It reminded me a lot of a warm pumpkin spice cake :). We loved our experience at The Prince of Wales. We were up for a Sunday roast on Easter Sunday and it did not disappoint it was amazing! The food was excellent, plentiful and delicious! The service was fabulous, Werner was a legend. The desserts weren’t worth the cost but the dinner and drinks definitely exceeded expectations. Only thing to note: if you are a tipper (which we are) there is a built in service charge for larger parties. The staff was working on Easter Sunday so it didn’t hurt to have double tipped but just a word if you are working on a budget. I would absolutely enjoy this pub again. It was a perfect Easter/Sunday dinner. Don’t hesitate, just go and say hi to Werner from the Canadians!

Overall good the servers were nice and the songs were good but the food came with stuff it did not say on the menu for example the meal came with salad even though it did not state it came with salad on the menu
