Cozy friendly and warm,bar staff brilliant,food banging,customer base perfect..could of actually been mistaken for a local country pub... five stars and beyond

We went last night for my partners birthday with our 2 teenage children. The only tables free were filled with plates glasses etc. We went to the bar and asked if it was possible for anyone to clear a table we could sit on. The barman said sorry we are short staffed you will have to clear the table yourself. Not what we was expecting we came to eat not work there. We walked out.

I have just turned 18 and I decided to spend my birthday meal here…or so I thought. I walked in and was greeted with unkind looks from the members of staff. I sat down with all of my friends and we were not loud or disruptive and were about to order our food. A waiter then came over to our table in a very abrupt manner and rudely demanded that we showed ID. Obviously as we are all 17 and 18 and we were not buying alcohol, we did not bring ID. We also came to the pub at 5pm so it was not excessively late where ID would be needed. I have never in my 18 years of living been to a restaurant where they demanded for ID in such a rude way and at such an early time. When trying find a digital copy of our ID’s as we were trying to be as helpful as possible; we were rudely interrupted and told that the ID must be physical even if we had valid digital proof. I then told the man we understood if it was policy but we were never aware of this but I did say we would leave if it was a problem. He continued to have an attitude with me, continually demanding we leave after I had already told him we would. After his poor attitude continued we firmly told him we would be leaving and assured him we wouldn’t try and come back and he rudely stormed away in a strop. Do not come here if you want a good experience, my birthday meal was ruined and I will NEVER return.

Good food at a very affordable price.

Excellent range of real ales and good value food.

Drinks are very reasonably priced so is the food. A fairly big standard menu. I didn't feel quite at ease there though. Somehow I felt hesitant about eating there but it's good for a group of people just meeting up for drinks

Visited this place with a friend and will surely visit again. The food and drink was great, lovely atmosphere and all at very reasonable prices.

Nice, lively "local" pub. We didn't have a meal here, but table service of drinks was good, with polite and swift.

Went here to meet up with some friends. We're used to picking a Spoons to meet up as we know what to expect. Apart from this time! The food and drink was as good as usual, but the staff were amazing! They're such a happy bunch that they obviously like working together. They all seemed to keep the place clean too as they walked through. The ladies toilets ( upstairs as usual!) were clean ( and huge) each time we went up. Never a queue either. All I can say to the managers is visit other Wetherspoons to show them what good service and happy staff are please!

Food was adequate, costing was good! All in all,no complaints!

Always busy in this pub, so finding a table may be difficult, but if you manage it, food is always good for the price and drinks are cheaper than a standard pub, so that's a win , win.

A good wetherspoons ideally situated near a main railway connection or a short walk to a bus stop. Good choice of beers and friendly staff

As in all the pubs the food is very good, drinks are at a reasonable price.👍 Only thing ordered burger on menu says come with small chips. None on plate told U need to say if want them. 😕

Popped in for a quick lunch..fish and chips and a pint..excellent nicely cooked. Will be back for another..Peter G.

Had 3 hours to kill on a rainy day in Rainham. Found the railway pub and had a few breakfasts and many hot drinks for around 20 pounds. Thank goodness it was open.

Paid over £30 today for 2 Gourmet Steak meals and Gourmet it most definitely was not!! Cremated Steaks is what we were served and we tried eating them with their peppercorn sauce poured over them to kill the cremated taste but it wasn't possible. OFFICIALLY THE WORST STEAK I'VE EVER BEEN SERVED AND TASTED 🤢🤮

As a breakfast place it was fine. The menu choice was quite wide, and what was served was cooked okay. Prices as ever at a Weatherspoon's were very reasonable

Food A 3.7 small portion beans and scrambled egg let it down, good service. Atmosphere 3.5 which was pleasant for a 9.00am breakfast. Decent value would certainly go again.

Very inexpensive and located right by the train station

This pub is just outside the train station at Rainham a 1 minute walk and I had a quick drink and on to the next JD pub in Kent excellent service once again thanks

Has always been value for money, example, traditional breakfast £4.99. And good quality. Have been going there for years.

Fantastic Food exactly as you would expect from any other Wetherspoons, Good prices, good portions, great servers at this location, always friendly when i bring my family and very accepting of bringing my bike in!

Fantastic service, drinks and food brought to table in under ten mins when ordering via the app, I would recommend the Fish and Chips, great value for money.

Great little pub next to the Railway Station. They have screens showing the train times so you can keep an eye out for your train whilst enjoying a beer, coffee and good food. Nice atmosphere, service and staff.

As most of Wetherspoons, clean, tidy, Good choice of food and drink. Service excellent.

We have had breakfast and lunch at this bar/restaurant food is very nice generally, and the bar has a good selection of beer's and wine, and the staff at this wetherspoons are very good and very helpful and polite,perfect for breakfast before you get on the train, and just the job when you get off no need to cook when you get home 😀 😋 👍

Typical spoons, food and drinks ok, cheap ,v service can be a little slow during busy periods but generally ok.

The food and atmosphere was good 😎 Downside was the sticky tables, even when I asked, made no difference 😞

Nicely situated chain pub next to Rainham (Kent) station. Usual Wetherspoons stuff with the addituon of this, on draft, at the time of visit. Ironically, I don't believe they serve this offering at the Peter Cushing (Whitstable).

A great wetherspoons , good atmosphere

Very disappointed on this visit. Ordered food and drinks at the bar on entry and took the drinks to our table. Simple order for food (2 chicken wraps and 1 portion of chips). Ordered another 2 drinks after approx 30-35 minutes later on the app which arrived promptly so asked about the food. Apparently it had been taken down as done when it hadn't been! Eventually turned up but the chips were cold! Managed to find the member of staff that brought them to us and complained about them and he did get us a new portion that was hot although by then we had eaten the wraps! Definitely not one of the best Wetherspoons I have been in!!

Woman and man kicked us out of spoons because we swinge the lights and then the woman told us to stop so we did then the man stood there look at us then we laughed because we felt awkward then he told us to leave so we did but he followed us

A comfortable pub with helpful staff and friendly regulars. The food is the usual pub food that ranges from okay to surprisingly good and the variety of drinks is good as well

It's a Wetherspoon. It looks like one and it feels like one. Food is very hit and miss. Lately very miss.

Parking is the real issue here. Bit of a rush PH .better PH in the area and better wetherspoons.

Look, it's Weatherspoons. I wasn't expecting much other than (hopefully) hot and not cooked by me. Surprisingly, I had an awesome meal, rapidly served and really tasty. (Alfredo Pasta, 8" garlic bread and Salted Caramel Sticky toffee pudding) best meal I've had in a while! Good job The Railway!

Very pub, apart from the funky smell in one corner of the pub, and bugs flying into my pint of Black Ice Ale, again just in the funky smelling spot. 5* usually, but funky smells knock it down.

Probably the worst Wetherspoons I've been to and I've been to a lot. Bar staff are unaware and look like they don't care. Very open pub so lacks atmosphere. Food was good though

Well, what a place one of the best Wetherspoon I've been in very large inside made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive Same menu as we come to expect, but it seems somewhat different (in a good way ) Staff are very friendly atmosphere great facilities are the best I've seen in a spoons

Never cease to be amazed at the value for money at the Railway it's a nice clean well presented pub/eatery the food is well cooked and served and the value for money is unbelievable in these tough financial times we visited weekday lunchtime and Saturday late afternoon and this review refers to these

Amazing, funny. good and beer drinks with good selection of beers, i liked the beer there and had a few pints of beer with my beer. will be back here for a few beers throughout the year.

After a pretty burned pretty empty panini was delivered to the table my friend found a staff member who replaced it with a fresh and super filled replacement. It felt like she really cared that my friend enjoyed her experience. We aren’t sure if her name but she was wearing kitchen uniform and red and black trainers. Thank you!!

It's a spoons, cheap cheerful food and budget booze. Place has the obligatory toothless tramp, bunch of divorced golf buddies sipping ale, a table full of young gents who must be handbag traders as they are always talking about 3 bags for 100 quid 😂, and a table full of cougars sipping pinot whilst waiting for the London train to go see a show for Sandra's 30th (ahem 40th) Birthday!

2 of us called in here for a pint and ended up staying for a curry. The beer and cider was fine as was the curry especially when taking the price into account. The only thing that would put me off going again would be the service which is very slow!

It’s a cozy pub, with nice Staff - Beer hits different and it is just good. Go here now for an amazing time with your Family, Friends or Spouse. I’ve been to alot of spoons, nothing comes close.

Usually fairly busy. Food can be hit and miss. I think changes in kitchen cooks are the reason for quality or portion inconsistencies, but overall, it is not a bad place to relax for a drink and some grub.

Lad with green shirt, shaved head with glasses was unbelievably rude to my partner and my five year old daughter, he threw her cutlery in the bin, couldn’t be bother to look for them and didn’t even apologise! He even threw plate of cheese slice in front of her angrily when my partner asked nicely for grated cheese and paid for it, I’m reporting that man to higher up and I want him fired !

Went in for breakfast, which was good as far as it went but missing mushrooms, mentioned to staff but never received them!

Served by Robert, got order wrong, charged for Drink i never asked for, quite rude when i pointed it out, then spent 20 minutes giving me the Side eye, lucky i was with the wife or would have knocked the idiot into next week

First time at this pub and had a great meal and drinks at an affordable cost and the staff were very friendly and had a great atmosphere.

First TV time there,so not to impressed when I walked in a lot of tables full of dirty dishes but could be short staff, food good but small portions for the prices, but definitely will go back
