This is a very nice gem of a local pub. We loved the food. The service was very good. The ambiance is welcoming and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The portions are well generous. The food quality was exceptional. For some reason their hygiene mark is 3 stars and we do not know why. It is actually disappointing but we witnessed 5 ⭐ cleanliness during our visit.

Went for a work Christmas dinner, was told by the abrupt manager that the Christmas menu had to be pre-booked which were not informed of. Then waited over 20mins for our drink order to be taken. When we went to order were told on two occasions that two of the mains were not available. Opted for the corn fed chicken which was partially raw, when I queried this the staff member spoke to the chef who said that I should be fine if I eat around the raw chicken. Very disappointed. Very worried that I may get ill from the food.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch here. Normally, I'm quite happy having a Sunday lunch out as I haven't had to cook it. However, mostly, I think it was ok. This was the exception, beef was very tender, vegetables were delicious. Definitely recommend, and it felt Christmasy too.

We have been going here every 6 weeks or so for the last 3 years. Food is better than your average pub but it is getting a little expensive of late. A shared starter, 2 mains, a shared dessert and a bottle of house red is £120 now, which is not such great value. Was freezing cold the last time we went - assume this was a one off...

Amazing food. Came back here for the second time and had the same dish I ordered before (pasta with ragù), still tastes as delicious as the first time. My husband’s chicken dish was also very yum. Drove and parked locally - easy. Booking was straight forward. The team at the Swan were able to accommodate a late increase in numbers very nicely. Food was great. I had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding which was very good. The non-roast pork dish was well received. Didn't have any alcohol. Worth trying. Nice ambience with a hint of Christmas

Visited yesterday, a sunny Sunday at 12.10pm. Greeted by 2 gentlemen that I will refer to as Mr Grumpy no1 and Mr Grumpy no2. "Good afternoon."I wished them. "Have you booked" asked no 1. "No, sorry, we would like to eat in the garden please" The garden is closed for the winter " added no 2. We then went to The Duke of Sussex around the corner, where we had a fantastic lunch. (Please see my review). I hope that these people are lucky enough to be able to turn away custom, but I doubt this when you hear about pubs closing down regularly.

Met at the door at 12.10 yesterday, Sunday by two men. I'll call them Mr Grumpy 1 and Mr Grumpy 2. "Good afternoon", I wished them."Have you booked?" asked no 1. "Sorry, no, I replied. "We'd like to sit in the garden please " "The garden is closed for the winter " added no 2. I smiled and walked back out. We went for a great lunch round the corner at The Duke of Sussex, which I can thoroughly recommend (see my review) Now if you can afford to turn my money away, you are very lucky, but I don't believe you can when you hear about pubs closing down I don't give second chances, so I won't be returning to this establishment. On this trip to London we will be staying near Chiswick Station. Today, I decided to go to a pub called The Swan that I saw while passing by nearby, so I stopped by on my way back from sightseeing. When I went inside, I was surprised at how much larger the courtyard was than it looked from the outside. It was cozy and comfortable as it gave the feeling that it was a place where local people came and enjoyed themselves. I didn't know what to order, so I asked for a recommendation, and the staff member very kindly gave me the advice. The staff member, named Isaac, was friendly and not overbearing. It felt good to hear him speak in a good British accent. Both recommended dishes were delicious. I ordered another one later, and it was delicious too. Dessert was also given for free. We had affogato. Isaac kept coming and going, checking to see if our food was okay and if we needed anything else, and that really impressed us. If you're nearby, I definitely recommend stopping by. In particular, I recommend you look for employee Isaac. You will be able to meet someone who has kind eyes, is friendly without being overly so, and can have a pleasant conversation.

Sadly The Swan has declined in its service and food. Waited over 30 minutes for a member of staff to take our drinks order. One drink was a spicy bloody mary… arrived as a tomato juice to be told they didn’t have the ingredients for a bloody Mary… would have been nice to have been advised this not tricky. Ordered food which we waited an hour for. We were with 2 young children and 30 minutes after our order was taken a member of staff informed us they had no tomato sauce for the children’s pasta… again would of been nice to have been advised at the time. Caesar salad arrived with no chicken. Pasta arrived cold. Very sad decline and we hope a one off. Having being going to the swan when Cath was manager it will take some persuading to go back.

First time to try lunch at The Swan. We decided on the daily roast lamb and beef. We were pleasantly surprised on how delicious the roasts were. First we shared the garlic chilli prawns. Very tasty, not too spicy and the sauce we soaked up the delicious sauce with the bread provided. I had the beef, tender, juicy along side the carrots, cabbage and the carrots out of this world. My wife has the lamb, and she was very pleased with the roast lamp. The lamb was tender and all the sides were great. The roast potatoes were cooked to perfection. I would recommend and we will definitely go back.

Good food and great service from a friendly team for what turned into a very leisurely Sunday lunch session - prawns and calamari starters, burger and a beef roast dinner for mains. Felt vibey yet calm in the sunny garden with attentive but not over the top table service. Picnic bench seating only which wasn't good for our backs or rears after a couple of hours - but there was plenty of more comfy space indoors to shift into. First time back for a few years, probably not the cheapest, but very enjoyable and hope to return sooner rather than later.

Children’s pasta was terrible watery no flavor unseasoned I mean come on children have taste buds too. That was basically just boiled pasta with chopped tomatoes disgusting. Roast beef meat was good only one Yorkshire pudding, which was deflated roasted potatoes were basically just boiled undercooked carrots too hard lack of seasoning in the gravy and lack of had to ask for extra slow service not attentive totally not worth value for your money. traveling back here from the US I was so excited to have a Sunday roast, but this was completely underwhelming. I understand that there is a 7:00pm rule for groups of people that have children and have been coming for the past 3 years and have understood and the staff have been kind. This Saturday was different! The first thing the staff member at the front of the pub said was "right your kids can't walk around the garden and stay at the table at all times while you are here! May I state that the kids were between the ages of 1 and 6! FOOD: The food all around was underseasoned. £27.00 for a price of sea bass with tomato's and olives only on the plate is a ripoff! For a pub in Chiswick, the kids menue is a joke!

A party of four of us booked for "The Steak Night". It is a class act for carnivores who appreciate a decent T-bone steak. It is served with chips, condiments and rocket salad . The steak is to share between two people and is cooked to our preference. We dined in the garden and due to our gran age, we asked for the bench to be replaced with three chairs. No problem our wishes were accommodated promptly without any fuss. There was a confusion about the charge for the corkage but this too was dealt with diligently. I live in Chiswick and I think The Swan is one of the best restaurants in the area.

Three of our party made the same poor choice. Ironically, we brought friends to the Swan because we usually love the Swan burger! Two of our party had squid starters, they were tough and the batter was falling off. Pasta and risotto dishes were better. The atmosphere is good. The service good. The food is fine. £27.50 for chicken, a few crispy potatoes and French beans is pushing it. £14 for a small pasta dish, although very tasty, is really pushing it. We declined the burger option as it can only be served well done. The prices have increased at The Swan - a sign of the times- but £150 for three people on a Thursday at your local pub for two starters, two small mains, a main a bottle of Picpoul at £34 and two additional glasses of wine... We will go again because it's convenient but it's not cheap for what it really is.

Had a booking for 3 people, took a while for the person who greeted us to find the reservation as they fumbled with the iPad, service was ok, starter nice. Head on the pints were too big, two of us ordered belly of pork, came with one potato (not big, quartered) one carrot, some kale, no crackling (menu said there was) and the pork was tough and fairly bland. Waitress did offer free desert but we had lost interest as it was fairly bland (think Wetherspoons) for a £24 roast. Gave us one of the roasts gratis (was uneaten) but still whacked on 12.5 percent service without the blink of an eye. The swan has gone right down hill from its former years…. I won’t rush back, shame as it was once a favourite haunt of mine.
