Good value food and well-kept Timothy Taylor Landlord ale. Friendly service. Recommended.

Gareth and his team serve up a scrumptious beef lasagna and the very best of real ales - my favourite being TT Landlord. So good the latter that I fill up my plastic keg with it to take back to my home in North Wales!

Went for some food in the evening. Good quick and helpful service. Food was tasty and massive portions.

A lovely pub which feels like a cosy country inn, even though it's not far from the city centre. Gareth welcomes his customers by name and his Moonshine is one of the best kept pints in Sheffield. Great home cooked food that comes in generous portions. No TVs or loud music - a proper pub and a proper landlord. Can't recommend highly enough.

Quiet (at 5pm) traditional boozer with period pub decor and furniture, personable and welcoming bar staff and a fine pint of Black Sheep, also serves Taylor's Landlord. Odd opening hours, takes cards. Surprisingly spacious inside.

Great pub , where people go to talk

The menu is simple but offers great value and quality. The ales on tap also tastes great so I am sure they are also looking after their pumps.

Charming local pub filled with history and character. A rare gem! Small menu, but food was delicious and well priced. I was working in the area and wanted to thank the staff for their friendly hospitality - good people !!

I enjoyed an excellent evening here on Tuesday 31st January. I was greeted in a friendly manner and treated very well during the whole evening. The range of beers and lagers was very good and the same can be said for the food that I ordered - cottage pie and mushy peas - well presented and very tasty. I look forward to another visit to The Union before too long.

Still superb after all these years. Gareth continues to serve the best Abbeydale 'Moonshine' in the city. If you can find a better kept pint, let's hear it. I can't understand how The Union isn't in The Good Beer Guide. Presumably CAMRA politics... Note, it's a pub that does beer and some food - not the other way round.

Absolutely love The Union. Gareth and his team are friendly and genuine. Gorgeous food which makes me go back at least once a week! Highly recommended.

Tonight, I was served beef lasagne instead of vegetarian lasagne. On admitting the error, my original order was produced. I raised this with Gareth on my way out. He didn’t offer a free drink / future meal to restore faith or as an apology. Instead he blamed the newness of a staff member. Disheartened by this.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Sheffield. If you want good beer (and who doesn't?!) And the chance of a conversation without someone else's choice of loud music, then this is the place to visit. I haven't been in a while and was very pleased to find it remains just as good.

Disappointed to say the least. It was busy when we arrived and to cut a long story short I was pi**ed off by the regulars getting served whilst others waited in a queue. The bar is small and there was room for them to sit. Poor in Covid times. When I mentioned to the landlady that customers should be served in order she went off on one, saying she was changing a barrel and I could go behind the bar if I could do better. NOT what I expected! I have been calling in their for years but now I will not. There was no reason for her to be that rude and allowing bar huggers to block the bar in just not acceptable. I will give it a miss for now.

Traditional pub, well managed and kept. Beer always on top form. Limited range of bar food reasonably priced. Cosy welcoming interior, and wow the pub even has nice carpets and curtains. Well worth a visit.

Best local in the area. Gareth serves superb beer and very tasty pub food. This is a traditional pub with no intrusive televisions on the walls. The pub is a great place to meet friends and there is an excellent weekly quiz.

First visit in probably 15 years. A traditional boozer. Great to see Courage Directors on tap! It's a 3 minute walk from home...well, at least on the way there.....!!!!

A warm and welcoming atmosphere in this quintessential Sheffield pub serving a range of local and international beers and great proper pub food. I have been coming sporadically for the Monday quiz for some years; would wholeheartedly recommend for those who like a challenge!

This is a very traditional local. Nothing trendy, just comfy seating and a nice atmosphere where you can hear yourself think and chat with friends. They serve decent beer and have a small food menu. Haven't eaten there but looks simple and OK at a reasonable price.

Great small cosy old style pub with lots of quirky interior decor. Does good food in evenings. Only open 12 to 2pm at lunchtime and after 7pm evenings. Weekly quiz and once monthly music quiz.

I really like this original style pub... It's like how a pub should be. The only thing is, the cask ales (black sheep and Timothy Taylor's in particular) in my opinion are a bit warm and flat. I'd cool them a bit or check out the way they're stored!
