Busy busy busy late Tuesday afternoon which is great to see

Great little local pub with a good selection of beers and hearty food.

The cook made us something special and it was very tasty

Just returned from a fabulous evening with family. The belly pork was out of this world and melted in the mouth. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

An exceptional evening out for dinner for our Mum's birthday. Food was beyond superb, nothing was too much trouble and everything tasted absolutely divine.

The pub was OK but service a bit slow and had to return burger as wasn't cooked all the way through

I booked a table with my son and daughter in law to be. They drove over 3 hours for the Mothers day meal. The food was lovely, the service was amazing, and the ambience was like home. This is my second visit and it is outstandingly great value for money too. A lovely warm and welcoming environment for our two dogs aswell. Thank you for a lovely afternoon!

Had a great night in this pub until the landord accused me of hitting a woman in the pub when cctv footage confirmed I was innocent. This was backed up by both the police and pubwatch. The landlord continued to accuse me of this horrible accusation across a crowded bar even though I was proved innocent. Continued to threaten me along with his son. Disgraceful behaviour that ruined a lovely night. Slanderous accusations that were proved incorrect by cctv footage. Disgusting behaviour.

Ordered rare steak was medium well, no freshly ground pepper…. It was just ok.

Had a delicious Sunday roast in this traditional country pub.Warm friendly service,though don't wait for someone to come to your table go to the bar it's quicker. The menu was small but had child and vegetarian options.The deserts were also excellent but a trifle expensive There was a good selection of beers the Doom Bar was a good a pint as I've had recently and the Solar Wave IPA was also very tasty As always its best to book but it is possible to walk in

Amazing food! Tried one of the new sizzling plates, Satay chicken! It tasted delicious. Such great value! Our waitress Alana was very attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our evening and will be back again soon.

Don't know how to make coffee. They use boiling water

Not very busy on the evening we went for dinner (we are early eaters). The food was top quality. We had the chicken and bacon in honey and mustard, ham hock and egg on bubble and squeak and the pork and apple burger which I thought was amazing. Really good value for money. Highly recommended.

Went with friends to watch Wrecking Ball, brilliant country rock band, had a great night.

All 4 of us arrived for Sunday dinner a little early, so we were seated comfortably while waiting for a table to be available. Then ordered our meal which was delicious, very good service we certainly would recommend this establishment.

We ate here after a recommendation from relatives who live in Crewkerne (we live in the Midlands).My partner ordered the Chicken and I went for sirloin steak. I also ordered the peppercorn sauce which I always enjoy with my steak. A few minutes after ordering I was told they had no peppercorn sauce which was a disappointment as the only other option was stilton which I dislike.Still I thought if the steak is good you don't need the sauce.When my steak arrived it didn't look the best but its best to taste. Unfortunately I tasted it and it just didn't taste nice to me. I asked my partner to try some and she wasn't keen either.When the waitress came to ask if all was ok I said it wasn't and explained that I didn't like the steak, she asked why so I told her.When she returned later she said nothing so I asked if there was any feedback. Her reply: "oh they said its top quality meat". In other words "you're both wrong so shut up".When I paid the bill I asked the barman if he was the one who said "its top quality meat", he said it was. I replied that to me it wasn't, I like my steak but I didn't like that. He said he served 3 that night and I was the only one who complained. We said that that is completely irrelevant. He shrugged his shoulders and said he would knock off one of our drinks. Not really the point as we weren't after freebies, just an acknowledgement/apology.Now, steak can be hit and miss at times and I get that. Its how establishments deal with criticism that's key. Effectively telling me I'm wrong is not the correct way.We did have the chocolate brownie dessert which was very nice and we enjoyed that.

The landlord is the son of former landlord of the Nags Head crewkerne so I knew just from that the place was going to be good for food drink and socialising and I wasn't wrong, it was like a blast from the past, great food and menu , excellent service and very welcoming , Well done Dave .

We were a late booking considering it is Dec. The place we were originally going have had the management walk out and failed to tell us until close to eating there. The White Hart were lovely about fitting us in. The interior of the pub is modern yet cosy, they have round tables for party bookings which work well, good range of drinks at the bar, fairly priced, broad choice on menu and wonderful food and service. Couldn’t fault the evening and look forward to returning.

Went with my wife and daughter for my birthday meal. Hadn't eaten here before but the White Hart was recommended. As pub food goes it was excellent. I had gammon hock, bubble and squeak. Very good. For me a little more seasoning would have been preferable. My wifes burger was superb and my daughter opted for a curried vegetarian pie which was surprisingly good. Beer excellent. Staff outstandingly polite and efficient. Overall a good experience.

Me and my Partner ate at this restaurant and it was absolutely amazing! Great value, excellent food especially the cheese board - highly recommend! The staff were friendly! Not one negative point about this place! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for great food!

Very nice small little pub, free parking very close by - felt very welcomed when we arrived, food was on a new level - everything was cooked to perfection, one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten(and I’ve ate a lot of burgers!) would definitely recommend this pub if they’re looking for a lovely meal and for a very decent price!

Very atmospheric bar area with antique tables & one of the biggest stone inglenooks around! Very pleasant service. Pea & ham soup was a thick puree of peas scattered with a generous serving of shredded ham - very tasty & filling. Slamon & prawns with leaves, bread & butter was also a generous portion.We shared a cheese board with Dorset Blue Vinny, Cornish Yarg, Glastonbury Twanger & Cricket St Thomas Capricorn, accompanied by biscuits & onion marmalade/chutney. Good portion, nicely served and very flavoursome.Varied menu with steaks, pie of day, ham egg chips etc but we were very happy with starter & cheese.We'll be back.

A recent change of management (Easter)As a Local we have over looked such a lovely missed opportunity to visit this pub.It is quaint and very inviting ,the staff were very accommodating the food was exceptional and delicious ,the little nooks and crannies , seating areas,courtyards and separate bars ,skittle alley where great , very clean , great price .Would highly recommend and will return.opening early doors 5pm and food a bonus for us .

Never eaten here since the change of management. Much improved. So cleaner and tidier. Just popped in (book ahead as busy)for a Sunday roast. Delicious. The beef was Very good but intrinsically a pot roast. Nothing wrong with that I might add I love pot roast beef, but my wife's lamb shank was better.

Awful, everything was black and over cooked and took ages, chips and burger was rock hard, no high chair or child seating available, was not nice at all! Will never be going there again! And I’m not even full so have too cook anyway!

Great environment and good pub food at an affordable price.

I've been a few times since the White Hart re-opened - a group of us go for a meal almost weekly. It's worth the drive out to Crewkerne because the steak burgers are so delicious and brilliant value. Unbeatable! And the home-made coleslaw is amazing. There's lots of choice on the menu, including vegan and gluten-free dishes, but we are finding it difficult to deviate from the burgers! And the toffee sundae is highly recommended if you have room. I've heard the Sunday lunches are brilliant but you do need to book in advance. All the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The pub is really tastefully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches and spotless loos. Can't wait for the winter when the fires will be burning and it will be so cosy.

thought we would try it as it has not been open and we just come back from creete the menu was good starters main I had the ham egg and chips my wife had faggots and mash must say very good food and deserts was great brownie and ice cream was the finishing touche on thing very noisy but apart from that it was very good night

W thought we would try the White Hart on Sunday as we heard that there were new proprietors. There were five of us, we had the roast beef and a lamb shank. It was so delicious and we were really pleased because we had guests with us. Attention to detail is important I think and the little dishes of horseradish and mint sauce were much appreciated. Another visit very soon I think.

Great food, polite staff and good selection of drinks

Some while ago this was a place to avoid, NO LONGER. Four of has a great meal in pleasant surroundings. The whole Inn has been tastefully refurbished and is in keeping with it’s history. Lovely meal and helpful happy staff.

Our first visit under the new ownership. Beautifully decorated, historic building dating from the 1500s. Good wines, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. Food looked very good and will try it next time. Lots of reserved tables and very busy.

Recently tried the White Hart out because it has re-opened and there are limited food places in Crewkerne. As a group of four we had: lasagne, steak and ale pie and faggots. All meals were great. Sensible sized portions, good value for money and the service was second to none. Highly recommended.

The lunch menu tempted m away from my usual beer and a butty in the gorgeously old pub building (the oldest in Crewkerne I think it boasts) with low ceilings, dark corners and even a wood burner (though sadly not alight). The faggots, mash and peas did not disappoint and the pint of Butcombe complemented it well. My wife’s seafood starter was equally delicious.

What a fantastic job the new landlord has done with the White Hart! Tastefully decorated, great menu, great beer and friendly staff. Really nice atmosphere and an absolute pleasure to spend some time with friends in a proper pub. Perfect!

The new management have transformed this pub into a stylish warm and welcoming venue. My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed our recent meal and will be returning soon. It is also dog friendly.

Had a very enjoyable meal this evening and very impressed with the cleanliness, service and food provided by the new management.

A gem hidden in the rural countryside, whilst it looks small town inside it screams big city! Top quality Beer and Spirit Selection, be nice to the owner and he’ll even offer you a few off menu items, food is spectacular, best pub in Somerset for sure!

A surprise meal booked by my partner. Have been in for drinks before but never to eat... We will be back. The menu is simple but fulfilling. You get what it says on the menu. I NEVER eat steak out because it is never cooked to my liking... But this time having listened to friends that have visited here I took their advice and went for the steak! I was not disappointed.... It was cooked EXCATLY as I requested it... It came with chips (which were not saturated in fat or soggy) cooked vine tomatoes and a heap of salad..... It was delicious... Plus you can tell it was all cooked fresh! MY partner also had a steak and it too was cooked perfectly! Compliments to the chef and I told the owner so! We will definitely be eating here again! Well done!

Popped in here for drinks in the past and ate for first time last week. I had the chicken and bacon casserole which was delicious.

The atmosphere here is relaxed, enjoyable and the staff and friendly and helpful. Everything is spotless including the toilets, which for a female is a must!

Great Beers, Atmosphere A Go Go!! Highly recommended.

Came here with a few friends to put away a few ales before heading home for dinner. They had a lovely New Zealand ale, bitter kiwi, on tap and I really liked the Kush Kingdom that they had out the back. They had a glorious roaring fire on the go and the entire pub had a wonderful warm feel to it. The staff were super friendly too. Treat yourself to an ale from here next time you’re passing. It’s lush.

Eaten here several times. The food is always good. Joe the chef always introduces and interesting twist to the dishes. My mother who is somewhat critical when dining out, kept waxing lyrical about the seafood linguine, which is quite a compliment. Not only is the food great the beers and ales are excellent and very keenly price. All in all I thoroughly recommend just bare in mind the White Hart is first and foremost a pub so can get a bit loud on occasions.
