We were disappointed in the meals, turkey dinners were the worse.

Awesome place for food with friends. Last visit was at Christmas time and the place was decorated festively too. It is worth the drive to eat here.

Our annual group trek to this fine establishment is always a treat. We love the igloo experience, food was great and our server, Victoria, was top notch. Highly recommend the White Horse Inn!

Jennifer A. made our lunch spectacular! Excellent service, tried the recommended drink and it was amazing. We tried the shrimp starter, it was tasty and shrimp were tender. Hubby had the filet and Bourbon chocolate pie, I had the pot roast grilled cheese and oatmeal pie. Everything was excellent!

I would say this is a great date destination. Though we had a wait, there were several little shops around you could visit, The food was divine and so delicious. Highly recommend and looking forward to my next meal there Ps... sorry had already taken a bite from my filet when I took the picture, that is how excited I was to taste it

We have been to this restaurant multiple times, including in large groups. Never have we had a bad experience or a bad meal. This last time each person ordered something different from the menu and aside from the pasta dishes being too filling to finish, every person cleared their plates. Our waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere is so beautiful and cozy. It's as if you've stepped straight into a Hallmark movie. If price is something you consider I'd say there is a good range on the menu, you can grab a good meal for just under $20 or an exquisite dinner for up to $50. Don't miss out on the many photo opportunities through the property!

Venison chili is still my favorite after all these years. The food prices are a bit high for having to wait so long just to be seated and eat. Even after reservation a week ahead of time. Seating was below average as well, putting my family near an entire party . Servers were polite and attentive. Thanks Taraiah, Hope I spelled her name right.

Went to dinner here with some friends last night. Well worth the drive if you don’t live around there. Lots of great options on their menu and the atmosphere was great! Gave you that up north in a big old cabin feel. We will absolutely be back to try more stuff.

We recently visited The White Horse Inn in Metamora, Michigan, and had a delightful experience. The historic charm and cozy atmosphere made it a perfect spot for our family outing. Our little one was especially thrilled with the horse-themed decor, pointing out every detail with excitement. The food was satisfying, and despite the busy evening, the service was friendly and attentive. We found the prices to be fair, adding to the overall positive experience. We’re looking forward to our next visit to this charming establishment.

We were in for dinner last night and Carrie/Trisha were a dream team and took great care of us! Incredibly personable and know the menu. manager Annette was very professional and kind to get us sat as soon as possible. I highly recommend the homemade ice cream and pot roast.

We were guests for a baby shower upstairs and were able to enjoy the beauty and rustic charm. The Christmas decorations were lovely and enhanced White Horse Inn’s beautiful ambiance.

Honestly really good. If you're going, expect to pay quite a bit. You'll probably be finding roadside parking and waiting about half an hour, regardless of what Google tells you, but the shops nearby are worth the visit whilst you wait. Food was great, loved the atmosphere, our waitress was fantastic, and we took home a good amount of food for leftovers. Not something I would be paying for on the regular, but a great place to splurge a bit.

Angelee was phenomenal. She was funny, attentive, and overall excellent. I will be back and hope to sit in Angelee section. Hannah the manager was kind and helpful.

Anglee was awesome. Best service ever. So nice, attentive and friendly. We have never been here before but definitely coming back. Hannah, the manager really made sure our group was happy and taken care of. If you come to the Whitehorse ask to be sitted so that Anglee gets your table!! 5 star

First time visiting the restaurant. Highly recommend getting a reservation set up. I do wish that there was an option to place a reservation online just like the igloo. But they do accept walk ins and we waited less than 45 minutes instead of the 1.5 hour wait first communicated. The food was good but disappointed we couldn't get certain items we saw with the menu online. There was a holiday menu available. The steak and pot roast was good. I don't recommend the pot roast if you don't want double the potatoes. The dish came with mashed potatoes but one of the root vegetables was halved potatoes. The appetizer, drinks, and desserts were good. Service was great. All staff were extremely friendly. The atmosphere was amazing. Enjoyed all the Christmas decorations.

Small sizes for the price never find myself full after eating

Christmas igloo with family was delightful. Food was delicious. Salmon, carrot cake, bread pudding wonderful.

Food is really good and pretty close to a homemade taste. Service was great, our waitress made sure our drinks were full. I was impressed when she asked us if it was okay for our 6 year to have a refill on his soda instead of just assuming it was when he asked for it. Atmosphere is cozy and kind of feels like a cabin with hardwood floors and a lit fireplace!

Got there at 4pm and already very busy. 1 hr wait. Just to crowded and loud for liking. Service was good. Hostess not very friendly but wait staff top notch.

This place has everything from ambiance, character, great tasty food with may menu choices, super efficient and polite wait staff. The real wood fireplace was going when we arrived for a baby shower in a gorgeous separate room. Everything decorated for the Holidays in a small and quaint village with shops and many people strolling the sidewalks. Put this on your go-to list you won’t be sorry and for sure you’ll be back many times over.

Let me first say that this is normally one of my favorite restsurants. Greatxatmosphere, excellent nenu, consistently good food and excellent service. However, I had an infortunate experience last night. This was Wednesday night. We had an early reservation (5pm). We specifically asked to be seated in the cozy main room. Instead, they placed us in a very large upstairs room that had no other diners and was clearly used for events for large groups. This was an early Christmas meal with a dear friend. I enjoy this restaurant enough that at least four or five times a year, I drive well over an hour to eat there. I realize a kitchen could have an off night but this whole experience, from where we were seated to the food was just terribly disappointing. I ordered the pot roast grilled cheese sandwich which I have had many times and is a favorite. My friend ordered the Buffalo meat loaf, which again is always delicious. On this night, neither was remotely enjoyable. Both were very bland in flavor. My sandwich was also lacking in the usual amount of cheese. All in all an extremely disappointing holiday meal.

"Eat local or die" is not how I would try to gain customers.

Eight of us had lunch in an igloo, spent over $500 on food and drink. Food was just OK not worth the price. I don’t know how you can burn a baked potato, but they did.The bartender cut us off after two drinks each saying there was only a half an hour left on our time.

Today was my first visit to White Horse, even though I have lived 15 minutes from them for over 4 years. Had lunch with a girlfriend and it was absolutely spectacular! Our server was Jen (Jenn) and she was an absolute pleasure to be around. She was spot on with her recommendations and we really enjoyed her presence. My only regret was not visiting sooner!

I'm so glad to have experienced a visit to The White Horse Inn! Delicious home cooked food. The tomato soup was outstanding with the homemade croutons (like baby grilled cheese). I recommend a visit to this quaint town and this restaurant for sure!

First time customer and the hostess was so pleasant, and our server was very attentive. The manager Antonett was so personable and kind. Post roast was delicious and key lime pie was to die for! We will definitely be back!!!

Lovely relaxed Christmas dinner with friends. The pub felt warm and cosy, the staff were attentive and polite. The food was tasty and piping hot, highly recommend the Christmas Turkey dinner.

Terrible uninspired food, with terrible presentation. My wife's food was cooked beyond recognition, and mine was so undercooked I didn't even finish it. What a shame since the inside is beautiful. The whole menu needs to be revamped to match the prices or lower your prices to match the mediocre food. Not worth it sadly. This place is a missed opportunity!

We recently did the igloo experience here for some of are friends that wanted to try it. Unfortunately, this place has gone way down hill from were it use to be. We waited 30 minutes for are drinks and to order are food. Food arrived 50 minutes later cold and a few orders were wrong. My order came out totally wrong and when I asked the server if she could fix it, she rolled her eyes walked away and came back about 10 minutes later with the extra hamburger patty (didn't take my plate to correct everything wrong just brought out what was missing, I had to correct it myself). Only to have her return 10 minutes later to kick us out because we hit are time limit (2 hour limit but the kick you out after 1 hour 45 minutes). Upon leaving we realized that the deposit that has to be left to reserve the igloo wasn't applied to anyone's bill. Do better Whitehorse!

The White Horse Inn's food is fantastic every time! The place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful historic building with stunning woodwork on the floor. Gorgeous at the holiday with the decorations. Food was fantastic (seasonal specialty salad). The standout was our server Jen, bubbly, enthusiastic, welcoming. Worth the trip for her service, alone. Great afternoon spent with my mom ❤️!

Went for a Baby Shower!!! The environment was so amazing… very inviting and the decor is just beautiful! Service was great and the food was delicious! We had a really nice choice of salads….I had a Caesar with grilled salmon…I will definitely go back!! Thanks to the family of “Mom and Dad To Be” that hosted the shower…for including me!

Food and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. We met the Manager, who was a very nice young lady, and the gentleman that was our server was great. Food and dessert were divine. Looking forward to our next visit:)

We had a excellent time. The journey there took us through some lovely roads, perfect for a weekend ride on your motorcycle. There was a very long wait but this will give you the opportunity to visit the nearby shops

We decided to take a short drive north to Metamora and stroll through this quaint historical district. One of our stops was for lunch at the historical White Horse Inn. Lots of history here, it was known as the Hoard House(restaurant and hotel)after it was purchased by Lorenzo Hoard in 1850 and became a hotel and restaurant. It stayed with that name till 1929 when it became The White House Inn and stopped being a hotel in the 70's. Then in 2013 renovations started and finished in 2014 and what a beautiful job of restoration. Once we parked and walked through the back patio, there were Christmas decorations and dining igloos on both sides of the walkway, where you can enjoy your meal without worrying about the weather outside. The inside was decorated for the holidays and what a fantastic job. We were taken to a table immediately even though it was fairly busy. Amber was a member of the wait staff(Not to be confused with Amanda) was wonderful.😁 She was pleasant to talk with and she seemed to know when she could assist us. We ordered coffee ☕ which was pretty good and the Fish Fry which consisted of Atlantic Cod(2 pieces) which were beer battered, tartar sauce, coleslaw and fries which were kind of unique! Dessert menu looked delicious 😋 but we were full. Will definitely be coming back for dessert and coffee.

It was so wonderful eating here for the first time this past Thursday. Right as I walked through the doors I was immediately served by one of the most wonderful welcoming managers antoneta. She showed me and my family right to our table and continuously checked on us throughout the whole night to make sure everything was perfect as it was. Everything else was just perfect as well the food the drinks the service was all top tier and amazing and I don’t have a single complaint about this wonderful resturaunt.

Kerri was our waitress and this was our first visit. She is the BEST waitress we have ever seen. She didn't know but it was our 22nd wedding anniversary and she still treats you like you are her only customer. The food is so good. The portions are big. We will definitely be going back. Great space, great food, great selection of local beers. You get some big helpings of food here! Reuben Sandwich - leaner meat, but still super juicy. Marble bread was a perfect match. Excellent. Pot Roast - tender beef, and perfectly done potatoes. Probably way better than your mom made. Mac and Cheese - giant portion handsomely presented in a cast iron skillet. Unfortunately, it was unseasoned. No cheese flavor and all the salt & pepper in the world could not save it. Everyone at the table was trying to trade it for half a sandwich. There were no takers. Potato chips - homemade . They looked overdone, but were fine. Service was attentive and pretty amazing. Recommended

I've had White Horse saved for some time in my want to go list, decided to try it for our 21st anniversary, and we were quite pleased. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The steaks were prepared perfectly, and the fresh chocolate chip cookies were amazing, I'd definitely go back again.

Really unique space that offers amazing food and drinks. Every time I I've been the food and service have been excellent. I'm a fan of the chicken sandwich and all of the salads.

My family and I absolutely love this historic place! I have never had a bad meal here. Every meal has been Chef's kiss! The old school atmosphere here is so cool. There's a HUGE fireplace and a lot of Equestrian themed artwork including a beautiful mural hand drawn in charcoal of beautiful horses. Original old wood floors. The service has always been 10/10 every single time! You must try their Carrot cake! It's out of this world! I wish I lived closer, I would visit much more often.

This place has so much potential with such a boring and lack-luster menu. Overpriced for what you actually get. I'm more than happy to pay top dollar for amazing food, but this was really disappointing.

Went here for the first time - L O V E how open it is and the decor. Modern rustic with a classy, clean, comfortable feel. Had the whitefish to start (excellent) enough for 5. Drinks all around. Bloody Mary, Cigar box Malbec, etc… all very good. Pot Roast braised chuck roast, root vegetables, mashed potatoes, beef gravy, Buffaloaf homemade buffalo meatloaf, grilled onions, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, gravy with venison chili, Black & Blue Filet Angus Reserve, 8 oz, blackened, bleu cheese crust, fresh vegetable, potato, bread, Filet Angus Reserve, 8 oz, vegetable, potato, rosemary brown butter, bread. I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to filet. This was so melt in your mouth mesmerizing perfection. Great job! Everyone’s meal with presentation and taste was superb. I’m impressed. Good solid meal all around with service, style and food. That’s hard to come by … 👏🏻

Very disappointed with the experience and how they handled the situation. I made a reservation for a small group with plenty of notice. When we arrived we were smashed at two small round high tops put together in the bar. The tables do not fit well together and it was so awkward. I did not appreciate how they treated us and we felt very disrespected.

Wow! Very good food. I ordered the wedge salad and the shrimp appetizer. The service was prompt. I definitely recommend. The patio I would sit at on a sunny day. A bit loud inside.

The food is always flavorful and beautifully plated, the cocktails are delightful, and the seasonal specials are fun and delicious! The atmosphere is upscale yet still relaxing and comfortable. There is plenty of outdoor seating too (including igloos for the cooler months of November through March). Don't forget to allow extra time for visiting all of the nearby charming shops filled with wonderful gifts, foods, antiques, coffees and even a wine bar with outdoor seating too! White Horse Inn is a staple, Go-To Spot for us! We'll continue to visit regularly! We highly recommend it to others!

Had a Beyond Burger (gluten free) and fries and it was fabulous! This will be my go to place when I crave a burger and french fries. Most restaurants do a pathetic job. The White Horse Inn brought a veggie burger to perfection!! My husbands caeser sald was delightful as well. Thank you. We will be back!

Delicious meal tonight, and the service and atmosphere were pretty great, too. If I had to nitpick 1 thing wrong, I'd say that it did get a bit loud (Friday @ 7:00pm). I had the 40-day aged NY strip rare/medium-rare and it was fantastic! My wife had their version of chicken piccata, and she very much enjoyed it, despite her being a VERY picky eater. 😊 Great experience!

I mean honestly it’s the bees knees. I come here quite frequently. Family dinners, date night with myself, birthdays, etc. The food is creative but classic. The menu has plenty to offer. I’m a creature of habit but I manage to always try something new here. The wedge salad will forever be my placeholder though. Cocktails are elite. The atmosphere is my idea of perfection. Stunning, historical, and country chic meets posh. Service is always outstanding and accommodating.

The food was great but the poor waitress had many tables, it was between shifts and only 2 people to take care of a large crowd that came in. I ran out of tarter sauce for my fish, one of the best tarter sauces I have had, so I became unhappy, it took almost a half hour before the waitress was able to check on our table, by then the fish was cold and I didn't want any more of it. My husband's steak was great, and cooked perfect, so was his baked potatoe, he was very happy!

Booked a table for 3 at short notice, which was fine . Service was quick and attentive, and my wife’s dietary requirements were not a problem. Food was hot and fresh, even though it was quite busy for an early evening. Shall certainly return.

The meal itself was delicious, but when it came to desert, we were so disappointed. We had been looking forward to their Carrot Cake. The cake itself was very good. But when we took a bite of the frosting and nuts on it. We both got a YUCK look on our face. For some reason, I think they put an orange zest on it. It totally ruined the flavor of the cake. Very disappointing!

Have eaten here a few times, unfortunately, hit or miss. Walleye with potatoe and cheese crust, not good. Fish was good after peeling off crust. Everything else was delicious. Service good and friendly. Ordered Chocolate Babka to go, $7 for two very dry pieces of bread? Weird, and disappointing. Ah well. Will go back, but won't order specials or, lol, walleye. Buffalo meatloaf was really good.

5 stars! Everything was very good and very reasonable prices. Inside and outside has a great atmosphere and is very beautiful. Will come back.

As we entered the hostess was on the phone and no one acknowledged us for at least 10 min. We were about to leave when the hostess asked us when off her personal call …where do you want to sit the bar or table in a cold way. The whole experience including the atmosphere was very cold like no one cared. Only restaurant in town so I assume they know it and don’t care. My parents we’re celebrating there 55th anniversary and it was not what we expected. Treat people better or it will bite you in the end.
