A shocking decline in quality at the White Swan. For the prices (>£50/head) the food is dreadful defrosted Iceland junk.

Went today for a small family get together. Food was spot on. Good size portions and very tasty. The service was lovely. Gent with an accent initially then a younger lad. Both lovely and the first chap made our little 5 year old feel so welcome. Will 100% be visiting again. Only thing i would say in the section we sat it was a little cold, wife ended up having to wear my jacket. But definitely will visit again.

Lovely pub with great food, and atmosphere. My wife and I had fish and chips, proper pub style with great portion sizes. For dry Jan they have Peroni 0%. Great service from Sandro too!

First time me and wife had been to the white swan in a couple of years and I don't know why we hadn't been back sooner, we had a fantastic Christmas lunch that was piping hot at a very reasonable cost, and the service by debs and noelia was absolutely amazing, really attentive and courteous, and if you ask noelia kindly she will show you her mom and dad's Christmas lights which are spectacular, definitely will be booking for the new year, Ps 10% off if you have blue light card Pps parking was a little tight but obviously that was down too it beeing absolutely full with diners

Spent Christmas lunch here and was so good we came back on Saturday for another 3 course meal. Hats off to Debs who is manager - you have a great team of staff. Christmas lunch was hectic but everyone had a smile and friendly greeting. Food was superb. Well done to you all.

Lovely food and experience both for adults and families. When it is busy,it can get a bit tricky to hear one another, but if you are tucked away, it's easier. Beautiful atmosphere and restaurant and bar area are separate. Parking available and it is road into main city centre routes.

Can't recommend this place enough. Had a great night, and Beth was there to make it special. Perfect recommendations and even better cocktails made by her. Well worth the trip. Hope to try the food soon.

Immaculate place, and Beth was the best bartender I've ever had. She had recommendations for anything I asked for, and super nice to chat to as well. Couldn't ask for more.

Not having visited here for nearly 4 years where we had a poor experience, I can honestly say the current management, front of house staff and kitchen staff are truly excellent. Took the family here after botanical gardens and food, customer service and overall care were amazing. My daughter has a nut allergy and staff were great in supporting this and advising what we could and could not have. Extremely attentive and put us at ease. Beth was great and we look forward to returning.

Popped in for a pre-Xmas meet up with my friend and wow! The White Swan did not disappoint! We were seated and greeted by Will and then left in Sandro’s capable hands. He is so attentive and extremely charming. Our drinks were delivered swiftly and our food was phenomenal! I have allergies and they ensured that my food was bought out separately with all of the modifications I’d asked for. I started with some pigs in blankets (it’s Christmas after all! ) whilst my friend got the chicken liver parfait. Both were good size and presented beautifully. For main I got the pork belly, and an additional side of the chive mash which was so lovely, and my friend got the hand carved turkey dinner - which looked delightful! For afters I got the mince pie tart with custard and my friend got the kumquat Christmas pudding with brandy sauce- a delicious end end to a fab meal. The food was hot and tasty and the setting was truly lovely. Deb and team always make a lovely atmosphere and I highly recommend you try this venue!!

A wonderful lunch with the girls , the staff were fantastic and so so friendly, we were welcomed into the doors with open arms and made to feel very welcome, the food was perfect and so were the drinks!

We were a group of 16, the service was brilliant, food was lovely and the staff were very welcoming. Staff would keep checking to see if we needed anything as we were a large group.

Aspects of the meal were good.. excellent scallops, quick attentive service.. after that, the fat on the pork belly was still very jelly like and needed more rendering, the steaks were low quality, a medium rare rib eye should melt.. bearnaise lacked texture and tang, it was more hollandaise..desserts were ok, pears were undercooked and needed poaching longer, the crumb was ill conceived and left the pear gritty and texturally bad, crème brûlée was good.. cheese board was a disgrace, the whole point of a cheese board is to present fine cheeses and accompaniments, not a selection of the supermarkets most basic cheddar and goats cheese.. would I come again, for a drink yea for food having been on 6-10 occasions and had mediocre experiences on half of them probably not..

The Sunday roast I had was awesome. The beef was quite possably the best most tender not even the slightest dry roast beef I think I've ever had. Could do with a larger selection of draught beers, but you rarely get to have everything in the one place. I would definately come back here for another crack at the roast the next time I'm local.

Staff are amazing can’t do enough for you!! Food not the best we had a buffet for a small gathering food was not worth the PPH, in terms of quality and amounts, place is very tired the function area we paid for was tatty and tired, curtain pole ganging off the wall and desperately in need of some TLC…

You will be surprised (by the fine quality and presentation of food) that this is a chain venue. A little groan is that too many tables are 'squashed in' to the restaurant. Arriving at 1330 on Sunday, 24 November, service was initially slow but the pace picked up and Olivia provided great service. Very enjoyable, reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Came along and was served at the bar within 30s despite them clearly being busy, the main area was full, chatty and a good vibe but I could still find a nice corner where I could sit and read.

Lovely meal for a birthday celebration - unannounced but they still gave the birthday boy (53!) a free dessert. Good food and attentive and friendly service - paid proper attention to one diner’s nut allergy. Would definitely go back. Sandro was lovely and helpful, despite only having been there 1 month.

Attended Nov 2024, James who attended to us, was very friendly. Food was delicious, definitely several steps ahead of when I’ve come previously. I had the Steak & Malbec Pie, it was very nice. *5 years ago* Great interior, food not so amazing. Typical pub food really nothing I would say you couldn't get from anywhere else. Tomato soup was pretty nice though I must admit. Good menu selection. Heating smoking area outside too which is nice.

We came in for a birthday lunch last weekend and the team really looked after us. A HUGE shout of to Noelia who you could really tell was going above and beyond not only for our big table, but for everyone around us. You can tell she cares about the level of service she provides and will do whatever is needed to ensure everyone has a good time

There were five of us family. The food was very good and the pub is excellent. We were served by Sandro who was very friendly and charming. We’ve been before and always enjoyed the experience and would definitely go again.

We recently celebrated a 60th birthday at The White Swan for Sunday lunch, a group of 17 people, and it was absolutely brilliant! The food was good. The team was incredibly well-organized, ensuring everything ran smoothly for our special occasion. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the celebration feel extra special. It was the ideal venue for such a milestone event, and we couldn’t have asked for better food or service. Highly recommended for any celebration or group meal!

We booked out the main area for 150 people- the staff were so accommodating helpful and pleasant the bar service was excellent with a huge variety of drinks. We stopped by the White Swan last week for the first time, while visiting from USA. The food here is amazing with an extensive menu. Sandro and the staff were very kind and generous to us, making sure everyone at our table was well looked after. We highly recommend the White Swan and look forward to visiting again.

Had a brilliant experience at the White Swan for our bottomless brunch. James delivered great customer service, he went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

Had a lovely lunch on a relaxed Wednesday afternoon recently. Food was really good, staff were great, highly recommended.

Nice, relaxed pub. We didn't eat a meal, but had desserts, a bottle of Processco, and the cheese foundue. The cheese foundue was really disappointing. It was just under £16 for a bowl of very tasteless cheese and 4 pieces of toast 👎🏿 I had the Trio of Desserts with a scoop of ice cream, which was very nice and my friend had the creme brulee' which she really enjoyed. The toilets were clean, and the pub is cosy. There is no beer garden, but there is a nice little outside seating area at the front. Decent pub.

Went for lunch last week following a friend's recommendation and we weren't disappointed. The pub is lovely and the food was excellent. Service was great, particularly Sandro who was brilliant. Really helpful and friendly, a true gent.

The 4th time we have been here, awesome food as usual. I had the Pork Belly this time and it was cooked to perfection. We had great service from Sandro, who was kind enough to get my dauphinoise potatoes swapped for chive mash (just my preference and it was so good) Sandro was awesome, really quick, really freindly, checked on us a perfect amount without it being intrusive. The only thing Id say about this time is that my partner's Ribeye steak that she always has rare, was alot closer to medium. She still loved it and ate it all and to be fair a lot of places serve rare steak as medium or medium rare. She did however get the perfect rare steak from here last time, with blood still in it which is what she likes and why we wanted to come back. Still 10/10 for food and service, will definitely come back again soon regardless.

Really disappointed with our sandwich lunch here. Ordered roasted veg with hummus and pesto- At best there were 2 chunky bits of roasted pepper and 4 huge chunks of roasted red onion. Im not sure the sloppy yellow substance should be called hummus, it was more like a sweet potato and squash puree. Lacking in flavour. Not sure the bread was sourdough either! Definitely not worth the £12.75 price tag. My collegue ordered the Fillet Steak Sandwich- expecting nicely sliced beef fillet but what appeard in the sarnie was 6 small lumps of overcooked beef. Really poor quality for the £14.50 price tag. Not sure what the idea of beef dripping gravy is too? Panzanella halloumi salad looked amazing and plentiful. My colleague had this. Pub was not that busy and service was slow. Visited off the back of the reviews too. Shame. Beautiful pub. I didn't take photos unfortunately.

We both ordered our meals off the chiefs specials - sausage & mash, and aubergine lasagne. The food was just lovely and we were well looked after by James & Sandro. We will definitely visit again

This Sunday, my family and I enjoyed a memorable lunch at The White Swan in Birmingham, largely thanks to our fantastic server, Sandro. From start to finish, Sandro was warm, attentive, and engaging, especially with our two kids. His menu recommendations were spot-on, and he struck the perfect balance of attentiveness without hovering. The food was delicious, but Sandro’s outstanding service truly made the experience exceptional. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for Sandro!

He truly made our lunch a memorable occasion by being so friendly but professional too. This was definitely an experience to be repeated - soon!

I’ve been to the white swan a few times but never felt compelled to write a review but after the customer service we received from Sandro I just had to. The food has always been of real high quality but that combined with Sandros service just made it a really enjoyable evening. He went above and beyond for us all and really made everyone laugh. We all mentioned him on our way home. 10/10

Booked for 7pm for Sunday roast as visiting daughter at uni. Even called in earlier in the day to check dogs could come into the pub. Lovely evening so decided to walk to the pub, 30 mins, only to be told once ordered that there were no roasts left and no steaks. Really disappointing. Left and went elsewhere.

Generic review. I really like this place. Perfect for just a quiet drink or two or the food is really lovely too. I've only ever eaten in the bar area. I really should dine in the restaurant part, too, at some point. Warm and friendly atmosphere. It's well worth a visit or two. You won't be disappointed.

Nice enough, not particularly great value for money. We ordered a couple of roasts which were advertised on menu as coming with sautéd greens but no greenery on the plate, just a few roasted root vegs. Food was delicious however.

Our daughter lives in Harborne and we were visiting for a long weekend. I suggested going for Sunday Lunch and she recommended The White Swan. We all chose roast beef and were not disappointed. The sirloin was top quality plus a generous amount of vegetables. The next time we visit Harborne we'll definitely be eating in The White Swan. Roger.

Firstly, the food was amazing. So much flavour and really made this an amazing meal. My issue was how the managers/owners let the staff down on the day. The service when we received it was 5* with every member of staff lovely but it was rare. We had to wait ages for drinks order and drinks to arrive, plates weren’t cleared off the table and it wasn’t the staff on the days fault, the failure by upper team to provide more staff so those members weren’t running around like headless horsemen really let the place down. We would return again as the food and the service we had was amazing just be nice to not see the amazing staff ran off their feet because of lack of staff, especially when it’s a busy service.

Very cozy pub. Wonderful place for food and a drink. Nice real lit fireplace in the bar. Decent outdoor garden, also a covered garden area with heaters. Staff is very kind, warm, and seem genuinely pleased you’ve stopped by.

Not impressed at all food was bland Customer service was poor price was high for the experience. Will not return .plenty more restaurants that desrve my money.

Came here for our engagement party 2 years ago and returned here for my birthday and anniversary today .and was disappointed the food was bland customer service was poor and overall not impressed .could of gone plenty more places in that price range and quality would of been much better

Booked the private dining room for a family group to celebrate a 70th Birthday. We got a lovely warm welcome on arrival and the staff were so attentive all afternoon, making the Birthday girl feel really special. Absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed our food. We were looked after by Molly and she went above and bey. I will be recommending this pub to my friends. The food was cooked to perfection and I would not change a thing. It will now become my regular. Once again Molly your a star. It's nice when you have great staff with excellent personal skills. It was a lovely restaurant to visit. We went here as a meal out after a funeral, and the atmosphere made it a little less difficult for us all. The staff were friendly, with great service and accommodating various allergies. The food was absolutely delicious and we all enjoyed what we ordered. The restroom for the ladies was very clean and looked rather snazzy. We will have to return for another visit, on a more joyous occasion in the future.

Our waiter James was so professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.... perfect service. Food was amazing. A great experience. The only critic is that the wine we wanted was not available, therefore forced to buy a more expensive bottle. Manager not interested in interacting with clients. James more than compensated, keep hold of him as he is an asset to your organisation.

Popped in for a mid-week lunch and were blown away! Charlotte looked after us fantastically throughout and the food prepared by Dan and Gabi was sensational! The goats cheese starter was divine! The place itself is beautifully decorated throughout. This was our first visit to The White Swan but definitely won’t be our last!

We recently held our 40th wedding anniversary party at The White Swan. I can not compliment them enough. The food was delicious and the staff looked after us and our party of guests, where nothing was too much trouble. A HUGE 'Thank You' to ALL the staff and chefs that made our day so special - Molly, Beth, Debs & Chef Kristi Gabi. If you're looking for a venue for a special occasion, look no further than The White Swan. We highly recommend it.

We booked for a last minute birthday lunch - from the moment we were met by Beth we immediately felt welcome. As it was a Monday it was fairly quiet so we were given the opportunity to choose between a few tables. The menu was lovely with something for everyone - I chose sea bass for my main course - 2 generous fillets with beautifully crispy skin in a sumptuous saffron veloute. My partner went for the fillet steak - which arrived perfectly cooked (medium rare) and melted in the mouth. As it was a special lunch we did go for 3 courses and each one was excellent. My main reason for writing this review is the level of service we received from Beth - nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive and friendly, whilst always making sure that all diners in the restaurant were attended to. She is exactly what is needed in hospitality - it’s just a shame she can’t be cloned! Thank you for looking after us - we will most definitely be back!

We had an excellent night at the White Swan Edgbaston when we went out for a family dinner. James, was fantastic, and looked after us throughout the evening. The food was amazing and was all served together even though we were a large family group.
