Tilford Village Shop Cafe in Waverley

We were visiting in Tilford when we drove past this little shop and decided to support local. In response to the negative review posted previously, the elderly man was a bit slow but that is expected of someone in charge of the whole shop (cafe and Post Office). He was very friendly and helpful, given some patience and understanding. He made us feel very welcome and customised our food order for us. Food is freshly made from scratch, including burger patties. The snacks (onion bhaji and samosas) are best eaten warm. I have taken one star off because the price increase in 2023 has not been reflected on their price list. He did inform me of an increase and agreed that the signboard should be updated, so I hope action is taken soon.

I went to here to post a return, as the shop has a post office. The old man supposed to be manning the post office appeared to be very annoyed to vacate his chair by the window, was rude , and appeared reluctant to serve me. I will never go back!

We really do enjoy our Friday night takeaway curry and the samosas during the week are really tasty.

We ordered the Friday night curry while house sitting in Tilford. Well worth it. Had the beet curry and the chicken curry, both with fried rice and other side dishes. Yummy!

A great shop run by lovely people. They have most things, are very accommodating and their takeaway meals on Tuesdays and Fridays are excellent. Definitely worth 5 stars.

Advertised as a cafe with sandwiches, baguettes, cakes etc.. On a Saturday at least, it’s just a small shop selling pre-packed sandwiches. Very disappointing.

Decent shop and cafe just over the bridge from village green. Well stocked shop with little cafe area beyond and a few seats outside. Pleasant and sedate seating outside with a pasty and coffee.

Really rude staff, food was under cooked and dirty toilet. Best to drive up to the next town. Place definitely needs a hygiene visit or what ever they are called

This post office/shop/sandwich bar is brilliant. You can get hot food, sandwiches and sits inside or outside. The shop is well stocked for a small village outlet. There is also a post office.I have several times had sandwiches made to order. The coronation chicken sandwiches on granary are fabulous.On Friday you can get a set curry meal. At £15 there is enough for two people (unless you are very hungry). It really is most excellent with poppadom, vegetable curries, a main dish and rice. There is even an Indian style dessert. I cannot praise this enough. You do need to pre-order and pick the food up late afternoon. Highly recommended.The staff are charming and helpful.Such a great asset for the village of Tilford and its surrounding area.

I regularly pop in to the shop for essentials, their lovely sandwiches & to use the post office. Very friendly & helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Sorry to bring the ratings down but our experience was really not good. My wife had the cheese and onion baguette, very small, plenty of onion but processed cheese slices, really? For £3.99 it was a disgrace! I had the chicken tikka baguette, better but still tiny and just plain chicken with a bit of sauce. We were offered butter in our baguettes, as it was a bit of a treat I said yes, unfortunately it was clearly margarine. The coffee was ok but very expensive for this type of establishment, and would have expected a teaspoon in the saucer. We had to ask for one.The people who own/run the place are very nice but I'm afraid they need to up their game if thet want repeat business.Sorry but we won't recommend or return.

We were in a large group on a school sponsored walk and had arranged to call in for coffee and bacon or sausage baps/baguettes. The owners could not have been more helpful despite the numbers. They were friendly and the coffee and food was soon produced. Excellent value and very tasty. We shall definitely be back when walking in the area.

Nice shop with some interesting treats. Don't expect a wide range of items but enough if you desperately need something. Had some interesting local produce.

Lovely young couple run it, very friendly and very helpful, with all sorts of useful bits and pieces that go with the usual corner shop type place.

The village shop is a jewel in the crown of tilford. The new owners have made the shop a focal point of the village. They are amazing so friendly and helpful.

Quaint little shop only place to stock up on food round here yer man does sandwiches ready to go fresh as a daisy but £1.50 for a cup of tea is way over the top

Recientemente visité esta tienda mientras se aloja con relaciones cercanas. Tenían una muy buena selección a pesar de su tamaño, incluyendo cerveza y vino. This is a fantastic addition to Tilford. The staff are great, so friendly and they have transformed the village shop. No doubt they will be inundated come the summer with visitors but the rest of the time, you couldnt ask for more!

I popped in here on the way through this delightful and quintessentially English village. I was amazed at this wonderful village shop and coffee/ tea room. Smashing items to enjoy and clearly a local meeting place. It deserves to thrive.
