Van Hague in Peterborough

Visité la tienda Peterborough para el desayuno que hemos hecho muchas veces durante el último año. Decepcionado de lo cuesta abajo que ha ido el desayuno. Normalmente hemos podido cambiar cualquier artículo por una alternativa, ya que estamos pagando el precio completo después de todo. La mujer que servía dijo que solo podía intercambiar 2. Cuando llegaron los desayunos se estaban perdiendo cosas que ni siquiera me había quitado. La comida es tibia en el mejor de los casos. Huevos no cocinados. Desayunos muy caros y mucho mejores en los alrededores por menos dinero también.

Very poor Vegan offering. We had a salad bowel and chips very little taste. Otherwise Surroundings nice and airy. Coffe OK

Afternoon tea treat from my daughter in law for her and myself. Wonderful, good choice of food with more offered if we wanted it, coffee and refills, clean, nice atmosphere and surroundings. The staff were attentive and Tony was exceptional. He obviously likes to ensure his customers are happy and satisfied. Well done.

This is no longer Van Hage but is Blue Diamond. My wife and I called in a few weeks ago for drinks and cakes, which were very nice, but the woman serving had an attitude problem and was rude and unhelpful. We hoped that it was "an off day", and didn't follow it up. However, we returned today and, unfortunately, we were "served" by the same woman, Obviously it was not a "one off" as her attitude was even worse today. We asked for help taking our tray to a (very close to the till) table. That was met with a loud huff and an uttering of, "I'll try". She brought the tray over and I thanked her. That was met by a grunt and further mutterings as she walked away. Please accept our sincere apologies for being (obviously) disabled and needing assistance ( my wife uses a mobility walker and I use a walking stick ). We will not be returning to inconvenience you again.

Today 5/11/23 myself, family and friends celebrated my daughter Jasmine’s baby shower at the café. We had pre-ordered the Afternoon tea for eighteen people. On sitting down at the reserved tables for our party we were greeted by two members of staff, unfortunately I didn’t get the lady’s name but the gentleman was called Tony, they were friendly and quickly took our drink orders, which was mainly tea, I asked for an Earl Grey and was told that wouldn’t be a problem. The scones were then served, these were by far the largest I have seen, they were still warm, the texture was buttery, most and delicious, I was extremely happy that we were offered cheese scones alongside the usual fruit, which is my preference as there were a great selection of cakes. The stands were brought out containing beautifully arranged sandwiches, cakes, butter, jam and clotted cream, pots of fresh tea were given to each person as we all began to tuck in. The food was delightful and delicious, the addition of being able to watch the two staff freshly prepare more scones from scratch made it more enjoyable. I highly recommend this café, customer service, food portions and quality was excellent! Thank you for making our celebration such a lovely afternoon ☺️

Nice coffee shop does a pretty decent full English. Quality ingredients used Pretty good value. Worth a visit. Plus garden centres Pretty good too
