The food packaging was poor and when I received it, it was spilled inside the bag. The delivery guy also tried to hide the spillage and showed only the unspilled part of the bag when he handed it to me

This place is a heaven for authentic south indian meals and tiffins. Tasty and high quality food with very sweet and polite staff. I highly recommend this place. It’s right outside East Ham station and a must visit. Also their filter coffee is the best!!!

Excellent food. Definitely one of the best vegetarian restaurants in London. Medu Vada was excellent, reminded me of the taste in Bangalore. Gobi Manchurian was not too hot, tasted great. Paneer tika masala was excellent too. Masala chai was awesome too. Service by Sahithi was excellent too. She was quick and responded to all requests on a very crowded afternoon.

I've been coming here for many years now and it's still THE best place for South Indian veg food - dosa, idli, pongal, anything authentically South Indian. Any restaurant's USP should be its food, and Vasantha Vilas has it perfect. The service is unpretentiously efficient and polite, the place is always neat and clean. If like me you're an early bird on a weekend then you'll find plenty of space. If you come around lunch and after on weekends, it can get quite busy. The filter coffee is perfect, not overly strong like some places, and tastes great without sugar. Dosas are perfectly made and if you order a masala dosa you can (almost) guarantee that the masala will be properly flavoured and cooked evenly, which a lot of restaurants sometimes don't pay enough attention to. Overall, it's just an honest authentic South Indian veg restaurant that's become an institution in East Ham, for those who know, and I hope it stays that way for many years to come!

Service is also excellent, and Sahidhi was a fabulous server. Very patient and kind; went above and beyond in making sure we were happy. Her rose falooda was amazing! Highly recommend the ghee roast, rose falooda, chili gobi, plain dosa, and puri masala. Portions are perfect and amazing value for money. Keep it up!

I ordered falooda from this restaurant for £5.95, and I expected it to be packaged properly. If they can't manage that, then they shouldn't offer it on their menu. The drink spilled everywhere, and I feel like I wasted my money. This is really disappointing. 😕
