Wheatsheaf Pub and Restauran in North Lincolnshire

This has changed a lot used to be really nice but is now a drinkers pub. Look at the fag ends littering the entrance and walk away unless you are a chain smoker.

Decent beer, nice atmosphere. Will be back for food!

I got 2 cokes they was flat, lasagne tasted like it was microwaved l, chip were not good l. There were very nice people but the food wasn’t great wouldn’t recommend it

The wheatsheaf Pub is a traditional village pub. There is a good selection of beers larger and cider, including cask conditioned hand pulled, real ales. The real ales were in excellent condition when I visited the pub. The pub is nice and cosy the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Only one hand pull beer available at a ludicrously expensive price and no food available on a Tuesday. Should have stayed on the bus to Hull. Never again.

Was searching for somewhere for lunch when visiting Barton on a Bank Holiday and came across the Wheatsheaf. Was a good choice and we enjoyed the home made Meat Pie with a pint of excellent Black Sheep ale. Warm welcome from the landlady and locals in the pub and would recommend a visit.

We popped into the Wheatsheaf this afternoon for a quick pint after a ride on our motorcycles. It was the first day of opening as it has just been taken over. The staff were very friendly and we will be back for Barton Bike night.

A warm, quiet and very welcoming pub restaurant. We popped in because our regular was closed, and I'm so glad it was! The food was top notch, great quality and portion sizes. We had homemade bacon and cheese burgers with tasty homemade chips with the most amazing huge onion rings! Our dog joined us and he thoroughly enjoyed the outing, being treated to some roast beef, which made his day! We're all looking forward to visiting again soon.

We enjoyed the food, and the staff were lovely but it smelt quite smokey and the flashing lights needed to be toned down a bit, apart from that it was enjoyable.

First time here and I would definitely come again food was excellent and all the staff made out dogs very welcome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Booked a table for 4 people for 2pm. Still not served coffee or lunch by 3:30pm. The poor waitress was sent out twice to apologise & told us it would be instant coffee. We observed that many people were leaving their food & they told us the meat was chewy. After being told the food would be at least another 20mins we got up & left. I would have marked the food had we received any. Only then did the barmaid apologise saying she was sorry. At which point so were we for booking there.

Visited for lunch. Light bites just the right size for us. Great steak and good sausages. Real chips too.

Had Sunday lunch it was excellent, very reasonably priced for good quality food. We will be returning

Booked table for 7pm, arrived to be told it was a 30 min wait for food, was shown to our table then told it was now 45min wait because they were extremely busy ????? Only one other table in the whole place had 4 people on it! Food came at 8.05pm. We expected a high standard as it had taken so long, the food was edible but nothing special. Gravy was very salty . Won't be going again.

Absolute gem of a pub, real little intimate pub, if you want a place where your family is made welcome and your grub is prepared by highly skilled staff, look no further.

Disappointing meals yesterday lunch time. Some items missing , one meal took a lot longer than the other five. Fish and chip portions were really small, hardly any fish it looked like the two ordered were sharing one fish. No drink offered with child meal as advertised.

Boxing day family meal booked of 7 people at 12.00 ... Great food . great cask ale and the waitress was amazing so polite and so great at serving us . A totally enjoyable experience would highly recommend !! A1 +++

We had Sunday Dinner and it was lovely, cozy atmosphere perfect for a chilly rain day. The staff are friendly and hospitable. The food was lovely, tasted great and I got extra gravy! Will definitely return.

Great old man's pub, with excellent food and a friendly atmosphere

Not a bad little pub. I had the pulled pork burger. It was nice and tasty, and quite a mouthful! The beef patty was huge. The only minor thing i would say is that the pork was in lumps and had not been "pulled" apart. The atmosphere was nice and the decor looked modern and inviting. Nice place to spend some time.

Great pub, the service and food are always great and everyone is so friendly. Reggie is highlight for me though 🐾💕

We've been coming here since last Yr, I meet my friend here twice a month and the meal s r always spot on, and freshly cooked. How anyone can give this a, bad review I honestly don't know. Very comfortable relaxing warm n friendly pub, with reggie whom my husband adores xx

Popped in with the family for a quick pont...decided to stay for food. It's a lovely 'typically British pub'...and the staff are super friendly. Food was better than I expected (home made pie..!!). If you are I the area and just want some good food..this is worthy of your time.

Popped in for tea with family while back in Barton after a long time. The food was amazing - freshly made and cooked. I ordered the Steak and Ale pie, and they asked if I was alright to wait for about 40 mins as they cook them fresh - I thought that was an excellent sign of skill and care in the kitchen. The steak melted in the mouth, with a beautiful flavour to the sauce, the pastry was perfect - not too crumbly or too solid, but just right. Chips were extra chunky and much appreciated. I have no photos as I was enjoying it too much to take them! My companions had the Liver and Onions which went down well, and the Hunters Chicken, which was so filling, they thoughtfully offered us the rest to take out. Service was great - everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive. We haven't seen each other for ages, so it was a great place to catch up and share stories while someone else took care of things. Had a brilliant evening, and hope to come back next time we're in the area. Thanks!

Good sevice, good food, definitely worth a visit.

Looked after by landlord and waited on by lovely staff tonight. Was looking for that evening meal with proper puddings while on a mid week working stop over away from home. Fantastic genuine freshly cooked meals. I had a steak pie followed by apple crumble with custard... Tx. For fitting me in on A Quiz night. Great enduring atmosphere to be found by all who discover whats inside this establishment.

We had a bit of a wait for food, but we hadn't booked and the place was quite busy. The staff were very attentive and informative. The food was excellent, the pie was proper home made fayre and probably the best I've ever had, but then I've only been alive for half a century. I couldn't eat all of it. . Wish I'd taken a photo.

Shocking service with the waitress, trying to engage in a conversation was like trying to get blood from a stone. Ordered fish finger sandwich smothered in some substance, which stated it came with home made tar tar sauce, didn’t realise tar tar sauce came with pickled cucumber and red cabbage, bread was stale and slight mould on it and fish was tasteless. Having raised the issue with staff and to be told that’s how they always do it, (which isn’t true as been before and was nothing like what was served) none seemed to be apologetic or compensating for the issue. Will not be returning.

Nice old place with plenty of outdoor space and a cosy interior. Very good menu full of hearty, filling dishes. Not a bad choice of ales too.

Pub was lovely and cosey with a nice atmosphere. Staff were polite and friendly. Only downfall I had was I ordered a pint of Guinness which was poured with one pull. Guinness should take around 25mins from start of pour to ready to drink. First pull half way up the glass leave to settle second pour 3 quarters way up and last is a small pull finished off with a back tap. This is why Arthur Guinness grew his business with the slogan"Good things come to them who wait"

A very nice old pub with well kept real ale had lunch there as well, food good and well priced, staff pleasant and efficient.

The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing everytime we go. The steak is cooked so beautifully! Really would recommend, whenever we decide to treat ourselves to a meal this is the first place we think of.

Myself and some friends cycled through Barton Upon Humber earlier (on our way from Grimsby to York) and were in desperate need of some (alcoholic) rehydration. We popped into the Wheatsheaf and were not disappointed. They had just reopened that day following a COVID closure, however they were very prepared and professional. The drinks were reasonably priced, the food was great and the staff were very friendly and kind. Although it's not that clear from the front, the Wheatsheaf has a great beer garden. Would recommend! 👍👌

Came here a few Christmases with my family, there was probably 20 of is total with children. The food was great for the price, meals all came out around the same time. Portion sizes were big. Would recommend

We came from Rochdale to visit our friends, we ate here and the staff were brilliant and the food amazing,we had scampi and home made chips. Highly reccomend this place.

Cozy, delicious and excellent service

Cosy pub. It's probably what you'd call your old man's pub but that shouldn't dissuade you from visiting. Food is apparently nice. Friendly bar service despite it being Christmas Eve when I visited.

Nice pub for a drink or meal. Went as a foursome and easily found seats. Though not super busy the pub had a nice atmosphere and we felt at home. We had several drinks and enjoyed ourselves.
