Zaika in West Lothian

Chicken tasted like rubber was chewy and horrible and the chips were burnt and tasted cheap this used to be the best Indian in Livingston but the past twice it’s been horrible. Won’t be back :(

Can’t recommend this place enough! The food is amazing, not too expensive and the staff are so lovely! It’s definitely a family favourite!

Absolutely Fantastic, have been ordering from Zaika for years now. Myself and my fiancé have a date night every week and this is our go to place to order 😁 pleasure to speak to on the phone and great service and my absolute favourite prawn madras is perfect everytime.

I've been ordering from Zaika for 10+ years. The meal for two offers a fantastic variety of dishes, each bursting with flavors. My order is always ready in under 15 minutes. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious Indian cuisine!

Recently got chicken saag dish and it was stunning. We have been eating at Zaika for about 20 years and it is always excellent. Plenty menu choice, quality food and service is absolutely superb.

This has to be one of the top takeaways in West Lothian if not the best , food is brilliant and portion size is great and is always served with a smile and kindness.

Best tandoori about. Paired with any curry sauce of choice. Staff always happy to help and provide recommendations for everyone’s personal preferences.

One of the best Indian restaurants nearby. We have ordered paneer balti, aloo gobi and tarka daal. All the items were delicious and off good quality and decent quantity. Must visit if you are nearby in Scotland!!

We are visiting Edinburgh, and this was our last night. We’d done our research on restaurants using Tripadvisor, and Zaika was highly rated. So we went with high expectations, and zaika exceeded these. The food was simply fantastic - poppadoms warm and crispy, relishes included a spiced Onion , which was exceptional. We skipped starters and had the Chicken Karahi, and the Home made chicken curry. Both were prepared to our choice of heat and both were packed with authentic flavours and ingredients. It is far too prevalent these days to have reconstituted meat in a curry. This was definitely chicken breast meat, and lots of it! The price was really reasonable,and there was no corkage charge. Big bonus. We hoped for a special final night and that’s what we got. Top fare, very comfortable surroundings, a great experience. Better than other restaurants we’d visited this week (that appear higher in the tripadvisor ratings)! Zaika staff were very welcoming. We can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Thank you. ZAIKA

This has been our main outside source of meals for around 23 years and the quality of the food never wavers. It is the best in town. It serves up the best veg pakora we have ever tasted. 😋😋 The service is first class and totally reliable. 👏👏 It's a must for any who appreciates a quality service and quality cuisine. Love it. 😍

Best Indian in Livingston .. I love the South Indian Garlic Chicken but can't handle it too spicy. The chef made it specially for me and even let me taste it so it was perfect for me 👍🫶 service outstanding !!

Had the worst indian takeaway ever this week, asked for both nans to be crispy instead they were like dough and swimming in garlic(unedible) our tikka sauce had split along with the pakora sauce and our mixed grill was tasteless. Pakora was passable but soggy. We frequent Mr Singhs but we thought we would try closer to home, first and last take away from here!! So disappointing especially at a price of £36!!

Gave it one more chance . Not good enough! The pakora must have been reheats from days before. Curry’s were watery and cheap rubbery chicken used. Nan bread was soggy Feeling ripped off! Will use bay leaf down the road next time

Ordered chicken chasni and lamb Tikka masala, got lamb chasni and chicken Tikka masala both okay but not great considering it wasn't what we wanted! Mixed pakora must have been lying for a while as they were like cardboard Peshwari nan cold Garlic and cheese nan was lovely Popadoms rather soggy First time ordering and last time will go back to our usual

A solid Curry house that doesn't break the bank, with a very friendly staff and an efficient service. Highly recommended when you can't be arsed to cook and the footie's on.

So disappointed. Chicken tikka masala tasted soapy and had a weird artificial after taste, went in bin. Husband's bhuna was tasteless and went in the bin. Pilau rice wet and soggy, only saving grace was keema naan which was light and fluffy but cost £9 for 2!! Will not be back, so looked forward to a takeaway after reviews but never again

I ordered medium lamb curry with rice and garlic nan kabab and chips lamb was fatty and under cooked for a curry curry was more like tomato soup with chilli bland in taste nan was greasy and soggy donner meat was grey in colour and extra greasy all that was eatable was chips and papodoms wouldn't recommend at all

Found always amazing well prepared . No issues it changing or adding products into food . Or if you unsure they recommend a dish to your requirements

We are from NZ, tried the takeaway and owners very chatty, genuinely interested in us. Gave us extra food to try and welcome us to Scotland. Tried food again this week, and brother knew of us and again given extra food. The meals were delicious, very tasty. Would recommend to anyone to try and decide for yourself. We ordered chicken tandoori and lamb biryani but I must say the chicken tandoori was actually a roast chicken with no tandoori flavour whatsoever. The lamb biryani was like a pulao with loads of peas in it we never had a biryani like this before. The prices are much higher than the other Indian takeaways. Not worth the money spend would not recommend if you are looking for proper Indian authentic taste :(

Excellent customer service - I came to the restaurant thinking it to have a dining service and when Haider realised this he made sure that I got a table to eat and he added a few items as an extra.

Back in Scotland visiting family I have not ordered for 10 years had a takeaway tonight delivered absolutely gorgeous everything was fresh and delicious never let me down after all the years I had food from here when I lived in Scotland also my condolences to the family on their recent bereavement xx❤️❤️

Have ordered from here in the past and always loved the food. However, having discovered a few food intolerances, hadn't for a while. I rang them recently to see if they could cater for me now being gluten and dairy free. They made the most amazing pasanda using coconut milk instead of cream for me 😁 which I had along with mushroom rice, chicken pakora and poppadums, all suitable and very tasty. My pasanda was labelled so no mistakes in which was mine too! I'll be back again. Thankyou staff and chefs at zaika!

My local Indian restaurant with lots of options of superb food.

This was my first time at Zaika, will definitely be my last. The mixed pakora was definitely not freshly cooked. My girlfriend 'treated' me to an Indian for my birthday and what a disappointment. I had a lamb Karahi and my gf had a lamb Jalfrezi.... Both tasted exactly the same, which is not a good thing, tasteless and bland are the perfect words to describe them. When I've had lamb from a quality takeaway it was melt in the mouth this was definitely not the case here. I'm only writing this review as the both of us were left quite angry at paying nearly £30 for such a low quality meal. Avoid.

Initially our naan breads were burnt and there were other minor issues, it's our anniversary, and I wanted it to be perfect, so decided to take back and get refund as it was our first visit. On returning they were gracious in refunding and insisted that we take a newly cooked meal at no cost, the meal was lovely and they have ensured our regular custom and made our night, thank you, look forward to enjoying your food in the future.

I gave 1 star as ordering is flawless,however the food I didn't like the garlic cheese nan had a blob of garlic butter or something maybe the size of a 50p dumped on the top was also cold.i usually order biryani however this was hot 🔥 compared to other restaurants I have ordered from. Ordered a large bottle of coke to be charged for it and didn't arrive with food order ,emailed regarding this didn't even get a response, first time customer and won't be ordering again.the food was OK but it needed to be heated and biryani as stated tasted nothing like biryani

Ordered a couple of dishes from this restaurant tonight for the first time. Very disappointed! No flavour, very bland and expensive. Definitely not a chicken tikka that’s for sure. Lots of food wasted. Would not recommend!

Food ordered for home delivery on Saturday 27th March. To be fair ordering and delivery quick and efficient but 3 x chicken dishes tasted like it was not freshly cooked and tough and dry. 1 x lamb dish lovely. Won't order again.

Took a real nosedive in the last few weeks. Food borderline inedible. Now just a low quality takeaway. Nothing more. All flavour has gone. I got the chicken tikka and it could be absolutely anything. The chicken had more flavour than the curry! My partner got the prawn asni. Prawns used are the tiny cocktail shrimps. It was like eating jellybabies dipped in red sauce. Most of it went straight in the bin. Not returning in a hurry..

We were excited for our food but the food was extremely dry. We ordered chicken and lamb. We are very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again.

Ordered a meal for my old Paw for Father's Day to give him a day off cooking for Maw who he is caring for. Was a bit worried as they dont start delivering till 4.30pm and he goes to bed pretty early, he wanted it at 4pm. Not only did it arrive at 4.15pm (15 minutes before the drivers start 🤗), there was free pakora, rice and spiced onions included! They also wrote Happy Father's Day on his curry box ❤️. Really loved by both Maw and Paw and I am absolutely overjoyed at the service received from Zaika. Thank you so much, made their day. XXX

Just had a wonderful take away meal, food excellent. This is our third time and will certainly not be our last. We had the set menu for two, excellent value for money. Thank you for our beautiful meal.

Excellent would have preferred larger pieces of lamb in the lamb bhuna but my preference sauce was amazing and delivery was quick .

Food was mediocre at best. What is not good is the constant bombardment of marketing texts from the company. Replying NOTXT to the number provided only seems to confirm that you are an active number so everyday you get their teatime specials... Have repeatedly asked them to stop sending texts tried blocking etc and it keeps on coming. I think I may start calling them at peak times and telling them what I’m having for tea to see if they like it. They got my number through JustEat. Update even after repeatedly asking not to be contacted and blocking... Yup they change their number and continue.

South Indian chilli chicken, Daal, vegetable pakora, chicken pakora, beef madras, steamed rice, egg rice, spiced onions and popadoms was our families order tonight. First time tryers and I can honestly say this was the best takeaway Indian we have had. Easy to order online and pay for, we decided to collect but you can get it delivered. The staff at Zaika Livingston even called when it was almost ready so that it wouldn't be sitting there getting cold. 10 outta 10. By far the best Indian meal to date.
