We discovered this chippy around November and were hesitant as we saw some negative reviews, only to find that these pertained to previous owners. We bit the bullet and gave it a go and we are delighted we did. The fish is lovely and chips very good. This as a result is our go to chippy. We have bought from here 5 times now and every time it’s been as good as the last. It’s well worth a try

Being fully gluten free in here, there was nothing on the menu I couldn't eat. The pizza, garlic bread, panini and cooked breakfast we had were all really tasty. And the cheesecake for pudding was too die for! We will definitely be back here again, a really lovely atmosphere with friendly staff.

Didn’t know about Edi’z but walked past and as Costa was only doing takeaways thought I’d have a pop. The menu is huge although missing more Middle Eastern food which I’d like to see. Went for a Simple Breakfast, changing the toast to a fried slice, and a black coffee. It came quickly and looked lovely, even though the beans were in a little pot, no need for that. The bacon and eggs were well cooked and tasty as, the sausage was better quality than other cafes in town and the fried slice was beautiful. The beans were tasty but very runny but that can be easily sorted by cooking the beans longer so the sauce thickens (no need for the little pot then either). The coffee was also good and a big mug of it too. Couldn’t see on the menu how much extra items are as I’d have added black pudding with hindsight. The staff are very friendly. The girl who served me was the sister and she was really nice. All for under a tenner, I will be coming back

Great evening listening to the ukulele band at the pub. They have Open Mike nights so it's a different group or vocalist . Worth a visit

Update - Nov '24. .. Friday night 2230 hrs - "Christ alive !" .. Deader than a dead thing that's been dead for a fortnight, then got killed . Sept 2024 - pub fairly empty & dead inside. Meaning quick service. Bulldog - rock band . Good 80's Rock/NewWave. music selection . Slightly ruined by groups of inebriated youngsters drinking heavily & to excess, playing ' finger up the backside' games, smoking & vaping in everyone's faces without any consideration . (Roll on a smoking ban !) + shouting abusively & drunkenly at each other , totally ignoring the live music to the chagrin of people wanting to hear the music. Didn't stay once the music stopped. 2024 - now in new hands. Still a nice pub. However, serving staff - No eye contact or personality discernable during the process. No friendliness. No warmth. That being said, it was a busy night with a live Rock band, DJ Russ & outside beer garden. 2023 - Neil Diamond alike night. Nice . Good service. Spirits - doubled up for an extra £1 !... Nice eclectic decor. Clean. Recommended. Cannot speak to food.

Service. Staff very friendly and quick to help. Atmosphere. Nice place and set up. Trouble with reservations is an empty table is sat there, before we entered and after we left, not being used, whilst we struggle to eat from a coffee table from the sunken settee. We would have moved to a nearby and just vacated table, but a family who followed us in, ran over and grabbed it as we struggled to get out of the settee!! Food. Was a slight disappointment. Bacon baguette was good (according to my wife) though my mature cheddar and red onion on fresh baked baguette was rather bland, as was the side salad (salad dressing would be nice). I was expecting chunks of cheddar, as opposed to grated, and caramelised onion, as opposed to fresh, but that is probably my fault for reading menu incorrectly.

Called in late Sunday morning after long bike ride. Coffee was okay, bacon toastie not so good. Toast was limp / bit soggy from sweating on plate and bacon not really cooked, think it must have been microwaved as under cooked and more boiled than grilled, no real taste to it - disappointing. Always try to use independent cafes but on this occasion should have gone up road to Greggs.
