My daughter and I went for lunch on a very gloomy day. We were instantly cheered by the welcome we received. There was a lovely atmosphere, with a few parties who were out for their Christmas lunch plus others. It was lovely to see the woodburner stove in the corner giving out a nice heat. We ordered our drinks and food and only waited for approximately 20 / 25 minutes which is a great achievement as the food was hot, beautifully cooked and very well presented. Everything on the plate was plentiful and we enjoyed every mouthful. Nothing was too much trouble and the pub was really clean and well organised. Thanks so much for a great meal out, which was delightful and not too expensive. We'll be back again very soon. Kind regards Jackie M

Great service, welcoming and polite. Nothing too much trouble. Very attentive. Food was delicious, best steak I’ve ever tasted, portion sizes are really good definitely value for money. Cosy and intimate environment. Highly recommend the steak, chicken skewer and the house pudding!

Although the pub was busy for the time if year the service and the food was great. Wedding have await for our main after our starter but we were kept informed all the way. Just a shame one if out fav members of symtaff worked his last shift, glad we got to dmsay farewell and wish him well.

I rang ahead and booked a table to two. When we arrived, we entered the restaurant, and found a member of staff who seated us in the empty restaurant, asking if we wanted the lights turned on!. We were very disappointed with the very limited menu, choice of main course limited to 6 burger options, and 4 other options, 2 of which were pasta based. We gave our order, when our drinks arrived, and after waiting a further 55 minutes, we left the money for our drinks on the table, and left. In the whole time we waited in the empty restaurant, we were not once approached by a member of staff to ask if everything was fine, or to be informed of the progress of our meals (which should have taken no more than 15 minutes to prepare). Appalling service. We will not go there again and to be honest, we are surprised they are still in business.

We were few diners on a Sunday when we stopped for a light snack. There were a few locals at the bar, but otherwise the pub was rather soulless and the bar staff not very well informed regarding the menu. Our snack lunch was freshly prepared, we did`nt see any cooked meals so can`t comment.

Came here in the summer on a whim(girlfriend has ADHD and I played assassin's creed valhalla 😂) after a loverly experience we vowed to come back with my dad. After a loverly drive to the pub we enjoyed 3 beautiful meals(I had cottage pie, my misses had gammon, my dad had the special mint lamb steak) I tried everyone meal and would of been overjoyed with all 3,we then had dessert which are to die for(2 chocolate orange cake and a Xmas pud) the value was so good. We will be back as all left happy and full, one of the best pub meals I've ever had.

Phoned ahead to make sure that the pub was wheelchair accessible, and could also accommodate a mobility scooter. Was assured on the phone that the pub was accessible with a ramp at the rear of the pub. On arrival we found that the accessible entrance wasn't as it first appeared. The ramp was fine, but the the actual entrance into the pub had what can only be described as a metal bar at the bottom of the doorframe in the entrance. This was to high for my electric wheelchair to safely drive over without causing damage to the chair. Equally the mobility scooter would have the same problem. The two members of staff that happened to be outside at the time were very blasé about the issue. Is the purple pound not good enough for this establishment? Such a shame, because it actually looked like a nice pub! Yet again, another business that has an archaic attitude towards disabled customers.
