Best flapjack in Derbyshire ! Lovely service with a smile and time for a chat. A brilliant place to stop and enjoy the countryside and we only live 4 miles away?!!

Lovely building and the atmosphere was great. Staff helpful & attentive. The menu is so limited though. The veggie option of beetroot was more of a starter than a main. The burger did not look or taste homemade. It doesn’t say online where they get them from. Most places in the area give some heritage information. Only two non alcoholic cocktails seems odd. They’re a great way to make profit of drinks. It lacked finesse. A wince glass and two standard straws in was a tad awkward.Ginger, lime and cranberry had no cranberry juice but actual berries floating all sad on the top. I was largely put off my seeing one of the Chefs eating bread while finishing off plates on the pass. All staff should have a dinner but not while making customers dinners. I really wanted to love this place and will go back for drinks but unlikely to eat unless they improve the menu.

Visited on Weds with friend and small dog and customer service dire. Lovely young girl doing little jobs filling up as no customers while the middle aged woman server was perched chatting to a young man doing nothing. When the young girl asked her to serve me far too much trouble , no hello how can I help you, no eye contact, just totally grumpy and foul, must have done some serious sucking up at interview to get job. Not a good look for somewhere like Ashbourne. Visited numerous shops in the town after there and all staff members were exceptional, maybe your staff should get some tips. Also note that you have the same dire staff in the Costa at the retail park in Chesterfield which was previously the Carphone Warehouse. Think maybe you need stricter interviewing procedures and more audits. Will say I live near Clay Cross and visit the Costa there often and the staff are lovely there and make my little dog so welcome.

Through the years we have seen many people take over The Bridge it has been a shame to see people move on so fast. The new owner has really worked hard to give the place a new lease of life. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by a beautiful doggie and she is a very happy and friendly lady. The owner and staff are lovely to speak to and very attentive. You can tell he's put in a lot of work to turn The Bridge around, it's a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. My partner and I nipped in for some lunch and a drink and we couldn't fault the food it was filling and delicious and arrived at our table in great time. The food is great value for money. Overall we had a very pleasant visit and will definitely be coming back regularly. I 100% recommend popping in.

Stopping at a lodge for a holiday and spotted this restaurant. Didn't book, just turned up. The food was lovely, nice and hot and served with care. For a sit down meal the cost was very reasonable. One thing to remember is you can take your own bear/wine. The portion sizes of the main meals , rice and chips is great. Overall it was an excellent visit and we hope to go back before the end of the holiday.

Fantastic! Martin, Jo, Jacob gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, attention to detail was brilliant regarding one of the party being celiac. Good choice of menu, quality food, served hot and good presentation. Wishing you every success! We will be back! Janet, Lyn, Bev and Linda

We tried this cafe for a quick snack as it was very close to our accommodation. My wife's sausage in a bread roll was served cold and my Panini was OK but with far too much Pesto and not enough of the other ingredients. The Iced Lime Tea was very good. The service was absolutely bonkers. On ordering the Iced Tea one of the staff left the premises and returned with bags of ice. Although our order had been written down they had to write it down again to work out our bill. Two young students at an adjacent table were handed the pad and pen to write down their own orders. An older gentleman who initially appeared to be a customer suddenly became a member of staff. He got quite annoyed because he couldnt find a pen to write down an order - the same pen another member of staff had given to the students. He then cleared a table and dropped all the cutlery. It was all rather hilarious - but not actually good value. We didnt return. (PS Cafe Impromptu is wonderful)
