Spend my Christmas Day and dinner at the half crown this year. I’ve been a regular customer for 20 years and this was the first time. I can honestly say the food was excellent, the value for money and service was exceptional. Tess and her team worked tirelessly for the whole day. It was a lovely day and I would recommend anyone to try Christmas or any other day at The Half Crown.

Been here many times very good prices and decent quality food, lot of different types of food to choose from, however I would say from experience I wouldn't get the fish & chips here as nice as it tastes but on a few occasions me / my family tried to order it after tasting it first time round and they didn't have any (I suppose it's not a chippy & not many people go for that here) so something like that I'll go to a chippy - everything else is spot on !

Had lunch today with 5 friends. The servers were both so miserable it was unbelievable. Over priced over rated and disappointing. Will not be returning

Had a friendly welcome when we went in which is nice. I had the grilled pork chop which was tough, 🙁the mash and veggies were lovely. My coke was quite flat and tasteless and not chilled enough, from a pump I'm guessing. A glass of cheap apple juice for £2.20 was a bit of a rip off in my opinion. The apple pie and custard were nice.

We attended on Xmas Eve. There were 9 of us and we had booked a table in advance. Upon entry it was clear they were not prepared for us as no table was set. After staff pushed three tables together and hurriedly fetched some napkins we were able to sit. This restaurant does not have an alcohol licence so you bring your own alcoholic drinks. Popadoms to begin and then straight to mains. We waited over an hour for our mains. When they arrived the food was good quality, tasty, hot and nice. When it came to the bill my party was paying with cash and card. A staff member came over and my wife asked for the card machine. He huffed, rolled his eyes and plodded off to get the machine. We had obviously inconvenienced him. Overall it was a nice meal which took a bit too long to serve and the staffs customer service left a lot to be desired. Sadly, although I enjoyed the food, I will not be returning again due to the staff rudeness and the delay in receiving our food. Those two issues spoiled an otherwise enjoyable night.

The Best! Never dissapointed with howards chips are always so good never dry, the ribs and battered cod, curry sauce 10/10.

Had a lovely afternoon tea with a Groupon voucher. Everything was freshly made, delicious cakes with warm scones. Good selection of sandwiches with sausage rolls. Lady who owned the cafe was very friendly and welcoming. Well worth the money we paid.

Eight of us ( four couples ) went there on Saturday evening it was all booked in advance. They had a change of menu which was a slight shame as some had already picked from the on line menu. They never sold any bitter which was surprising but in all fairness to them they soon got some for one of the guys. The staff were very nice and very friendly and the food that we eventually picked due to the different menu was superb. All in all a very pleasant experience and i think we will defiantly return at some point.

Visited with friends and enjoyed good quality Indian food. Gorkhas revenge is extremely tasty food to try. Lamb dosa as starter is amazing and can't for forget taste. Nice and clean restaurant, staffs are very friendly.
