The best restaurants in Hemel Hempstead Town Dacorum East of England

Well, we visited the stall at Beaconsfield bank holiday fayre market and chose 2 delicious cinnamon doughnut 'things' plus a gorgeous seeded sourdough loaf which has stunned us, it's so tasty. It's 23 miles from our home to the bakery but we plan to plague them for their bread and goodies; just hope they keep in the freezer!

Cooked fresh, when you order, best in town. I highly recommend you try the food her , quality. Friendly professional man too.

I have been eating at fireaway pizza in the Marlowes Hemel Hempstead for a while now and I have to say they are the best pizza restaurant that I have tried in the town. The pizzas are amazing and aunthic always piping hot. The staff are very friendly and great to chat too. Other pizza restaurants that I have tried before change so much more and put on deals that make you want to go back yet are overpriced to start with so you are not actually making any saving. Fireaway charge you a good price for great service and great food. Thank you Fireaway.

Had food here many times and it’s the best for fried chicken in Hemel. Excellent value for money and friendly staff and service really good food well worth a visit. My favourite is the double chicken sandwich burger meal with fries and a choice of drinks, great tasting and freshly prepared. Give it a try and you too won’t be disappointed…..

This place is fast becoming my number 1 choice for a coffee (or an afternoon beer) with a client or prospect. Great choice of drinks.

We ordered a pizza, burger and chicken wings(see picture) a few months ago and it was delicious, then ordered again a few weeks ago and was ok, but when we ordered this weekend the pizza box was open, it was cold and there was a dead moth stuck to the box, when I rang to complain they said they will credit us and apologised. So far they haven’t refunded us, I’m a bit apprehensive about ordering again as it seems to have gone downhill fast. On the plus side, delivery was very fast on all occasions and when we first ordered the food was amazing & good value.

Great portion sizes, delicious chips, arrived nice and hot, delivered quickly.

This is a fabulous restaurant. The service is exceptional (I was lent reading glasses!), the food beautifully flavoured and plentiful, good value price-wise and the atmosphere cosy. My husband and I were moving house the following day, and had spent all day packing boxes. Not only did it restore us but made us feel very sad about leaving Hemel. Thank you for our cosy date-night!

Unfortunately although the food was nice... service was awful. Mum and I went in for lunch today. I ordered a burger and mum an omelette. My food arrived and mum's was finally served 15 minutes later. I had finished my meal by then. Did talk to the manager and he said if we wanted our food to come out together we should have said when we ordered it! He said they are just a café. I explained that we had come into his establishment to eat a meal together and reasonably thought we would be served together. I was left feeling like it was our fault. Would not return.

I had visited the Sultan in mid October with 3 other friends and told that it was under new management, the food and service was great. I enquired as to if they would be open until late to celebrate the New Year 2025 yes I was told. In mid November I booked a table for 6 people online and expressed our wishes to remain until 12.30am. On the 28th December and again on the 31st I had calls from the Sultan to confirm that we would be going. At no time was I told that the Sultan had changed hands again and was back under the same management as the old Mazza that did not have good reviews. We were told during our meal that the restaurant would be closing at 11.00 at this time there were only 8 people in the restaurant 6 being us. I explained that I had booked it on the understanding that it would be a celebration to welcome 2025. At 11.15 we asked for and paid our bill, called our taxi forward from 12.30am and left, never to return. Our food was not of good quality and the whole experience very disappointing after my visit in October.

Everything was so clean and fresh – I loved the freshly grilled chicken and the rice. Keep up the great work, Roosters! 🐓 Next time, I’ll be bringing my friends along. Also, if you could make pasta with grilled chicken, that would be amazing 👏 🤩

Ordered just eat delivery for the first time today with this restaurant... I must say the food was exceptionally good!!...piping hot, fresh tasting, lovely flavour, not too greasy....will definitely be ordering again! Thank you Marina Spice lounge!
