Used to be a firm favourite as there's a playground and you can watch the small planes / helicopters taxiing and taking off. Great for kids. However, they've recently put their prices up a lot, to proper restaurant prices (Website prices are out of date, add about £3 on) Sadly the quality has remained at greasy spoon level and not increased to match. Also didn't give us part of our meals because they had run out, but didn't offer anything alternative, or money off, so we paid for things we never received. Barely an apology. Sadly probably will not be back. Maybe come for coffees and cake rather than proper lunch.

Started with a couple of really good real ales - Directors I believe! Not had a pint that good for ages - most landlord have no idea about real ale and concentrate on selling chemicals! Progressed to multiple starters like we usually do and all were very good not greasy like some deep fried starters you get elsewhere - prawn satay was excellent! Its a nice little restaurant and the service was lovely! Then instead of sticking to lots of starters as normal we decided to go for main course - we shared a crab rice but I ordered the seafood curry which whilst a very nice seafood stew didnt seem to have any Thai spices or flavours in it and not really a curry - bit disappointing really - should have stuck to the starters!! Will probably go back and keep to the starters Reasonable price - difficult to get a phone signal to order a cab home!

Best takeaway fish and chips around, I have to drive to get fish and chips and would rather drive here than to any fish and chip shop in Epping. On this occasion I was travelling back from an event in Romford and called up to order my food so didn't have to wait as the fish and chips are cooked to order for the most part. Once again we were not disappointed.

Stopped in on Saturday afternoon with my daughter and was warmly greeted by the pub's friendly black Labrador (extremely good dog). Didn't have a booking but we were accommodated. Food was great, special mention for the Lamb pie and Halloumi fries. Staff were very friendly. Will deffo be back.

Admittedly did not book but the table next to us had,and they were getting quite agitated but the wait from ordering to the food and arriving was at least one and a half to two hours we were originally told 1/2 hour which was fine but there was no update from the staff whom were obviously trying their best the food was OK apart from the all day breakfast (sausages overcooked) no butter served with toast. The staff were all very polite and helpful but if you are to busy to cope or understaffed you should tell people that way they will not be so disappointed. Maybe better heating in the conservatory is needed.

Absolutely shocking service, I've been eating here for years and always found the staff kind and attentive, especially Felicity. On my last visit with my 11 year old daughter, I didn't have a booking, there were plenty of tables available, and I was told that it wasn't a problem. We were taken to a table and left waiting for 30 minutes, not even asked for a drinks order. Despite trying to attract the attention of one of the two staff that were just swanning around they simply ignored us until I got up to leave. At this point she waived and said thanks for coming?? I told the staff member that the service was shocking and that we had been ignored for 30 minutes, the reply was 'well you didn't even have a booking'. She was more concerned on prancing around the wreath making table! Despite 7 years, I won't be going back. Shame Really.
