The best restaurants in Nelson Great Yarmouth East of England

Visited here early evening on New year's Eve, They were very low on stock but quick to tell us and try and accommodate our needs. This obviously meant the food was cooked fresh and was absolutely delicious, The chips were unbelievable haven't had chips that good for ages, And I tried the plaice Which I wouldn't normally choose but it was amazing and so decent size, really impressed with this chip shop - And so much better than the very big brand chip shop two or three doors down from it 🎉❤️

Fresh and flavorful food at relatively lower price, a modest and friendly local eatery The clams with sauce are flavored just right and comes in a decent portion The grilled sardines is a large portion and gives The woodpecker pork texture is a little tough to my liking but still better than UK average, the sauce is great, tangy and appetizing

A friend and I booked table Saturday night. The restaurant is clean, table clean. Do not eat at this place unless you want food poisoning!! Wine - From portagual £27.60 We ordered from menu starter break and pate. Bread and 4 small jars of I guess was pate. All 4 were fish pate. The smell and taste was disgusting. We could not eat. One of the jars had liquid running out. UNEADABLE. Garlic bread..very small, and priced at £5.40. The Olives tasted of drugs/weed. I like olives..they salty. These again DISGUSTING. Main course arrived 10-15 mints after starter. Main. I order Spaghetti bolanase, my friend had Cannelloni. The Cannelloni was 80% cheese, and boiling/cooking when arrived at table. Next to no pasta our mince. As if the cheese swallowed everything up. Spaghetti, look like it had no colour Just white with very very little mince/half a tomato. Had a fork, resized no herb, no flavour what so ever. As it it had been pulled out if freezer and microwave. I attempted to put lot of Peper.. but no point. I did try eat few more forkfulls..had to push to one side. DISGUSTING./UNEDABLE And trying to over charge for it.. Desert. Cheese cake was good. The cook had two young children around aged about 7. Not a place for children. I had better meals in London for less money. Disgusting that these kind of resterant are allowed to serve bad food. That evening I was sick all night vomiting up the spaghetti and bolanse source. Drinking lot of water got through the night. Today meet friends at Green Dragon Pub Bungay for Thai meal with friends. 3 people we had fantastic meal for under 30£.. I will be contact GT Yarmouth health inspectors. Don't waste your money here.

Great staff, great service and great food. Cheaper and better than Buddies along the beach.

At last we found a great Tandoori Restaurant. The food was cooked and presented professionally, the portions were generous, Cobra on draught and the service was excellent. We would reccomend the Savoy to anyone. Thank you very much.

Fantasic customer service from everyone working tonight. Both the young girl and lad were brilliant! I believe even the owner came to chat and found out it was my birthday and Surprised us with some drinks lovely touch! The food was amazing one of the best cooked steaks I have had complements to the chefs! Clean tidy and super friendly customer service! Highly recommend. Thank you for a great evening!!!

First time at this restaurant travelled from Norwich last night with friends and it was lovely food was great with good portions and service was first class will definitely be back

Usually we have a good experience however, the curries we had were very wet (wetter than usual) and we ordered spicy basil noodles with tofu and it came with just a tofu stir fry.

I visited columbia this last weekend on the Friday evening, I was appalled to see a blond waitress completely intoxicated and reeking of alcohol. Her speech was completely slured and was being very Abrupt and loud infront of my kids...which put me off eating here again. Hair not tied back as is a must due to food health and hygiene laws. Appalled by management to allow it. Food was standard. The other service we received from other staff members were attentive..however seemed rather understaffed for a friday night as had to wait a while for the bill and when it did finally come some of the prices were wrong which I did correct with another staff member, who was lovely and thank me for my honesty. As we went to pay at the bar we got ignored by the same unexpectable staff member until another staff member took our patment and as we were leaving we heard the intoxicated staff member say just f**k off from behind the bar. Disgusting behaviour!

Took the grandchildren to the Merrivale model village which was excellent. We ordered a large bowl of chips each at £5.40 I'd hate to see a normal size portion. When we asked for some vinegar we were told they had been busy and had run out. We then had to eat a dry bowl of chips, fortunately not to many! They had also run out of toilet paper which we did tell the staff about, to prevent customer distress.

Nice tea room, tucked away on the main seafront behind the upside down house. It was busy but we eventually found a table big enough for all 6 of us, Good selection of hot and cold meals and small portions for the 2 children. Between us we had a cheese ploughman’s, a full English, an egg mayo sandwich, and a cream tea for the adults, chicken nuggets and chips and a burger for the children. Quick polite service, the food was freshly made/cooked and was very tasty. Lots of cheese on the ploughman’s. Also had 2 pots of tea with spare pots of hot water for more than enough drinks, we stayed there until closing time as the weather was atrocious. Friendly attentive staff but I couldn’t understand a single word they said (very strong Norfolk accent) Definitely recommended

A good place for a great weekend.Lovely band and we do get a good chance to hear the old school music 🎼 and the place looks cozy with a great party ambiance!
