A very good night out, that's how I describe this place. As soon as you walk in you know it's going to be good. Lots of people in the bar, we sat in the restaurant which is lovely plenty of space and you can see the huge pizza oven. Service was friendly and we felt so welcome. Food was delicious and the beer was apparently a great pint! We will definitely be back.

I came to work not far from this pub, being an area where there are only country houses, I chose this pub instead of a restaurant, I must say that the choice was lucky because, in a very quiet and familiar environment, finally nice people inside a pub, I also found good food, and served by girls with welcoming smiles; having dishes on the menu very different from the usual, I also took an additional dessert, for my breakfast for the next day, I must say that as a price we are perfectly normal, a small place that deserves further visits on my next steps. Went there Christmas Eve with friends, 10 of us, including one in a wheelchair. Landlady watched us come thru the door, struggling with wheelchair in the process, and once we got in there bluntly told us there were no tables vacant and we couldn’t stand anywhere either. We asked how about out the back and were rudely told “no, it’s laid up for tomorrow”. So we had to turn round and leave without getting g served. Her attitude was appalling and extremely rude - there certainly would have been a more polite way of turning us away. Will never go there again till it’s sold to new owners. Luckily we have another extremely friendly and welcoming pub in the village so Christmas Eve was still great for us.

We went there to order lunch, and our mistake, no lunch on weekends. The staff was helpful, the food was delicious and creative. The theme is cats, no surprise. It's a very small place, maybe 10 tables, and while the staff is nice, the postings around the cafe are clear that they want you to leave when you're done eating. There's a "no camping" theme aimed at turning over tables. Also on the back of the drinks menu is a list of funny/snarky rules about how guests should behave in their cafe. I get the "don't drink and drive" comment. Some I find a little much though. YMMV. They will charge % if you use a credit card, and will give you a discount if you wear either cat eye glasses or a cowboy hat (or both) while you're eating. If we go again instead of going for savory substance we'll try sweet treats. There's cumin in the salsa.

Sunday lunch here today was quite superb: amazing food, smiley, knowledgeable service, relaxed atmosphere, and a beautiful setting. We enjoyed rillettes of confit duck and cauliflower/blue cheese panda cotta, then hake fillet with sweet potato and lemon purée; fillets of sea bream with carrot and ginger purée; desserts were pear and d hazelnut cake; mango cheesecake with orange and cookie dough sorbet. All faultless. We will definitely return.

Fantastic evening at Thurston Fox and Hounds, we were a party of 20 celebrating a 60th Birthday. We were offered the stables, a brand new dining area this was beautifully decorated and tucked away with plenty of room, the menu had a great selection of meals (that we pre ordered due to the size of our party) something for everyone. The food was delicious, very generous portions, really reasonably priced and the staff could not have done more for us. Thank you all so much for making this celebration even more enjoyable, we will definitely be returning very soon and wish you great success for the future.
