The best restaurants in North Hertfordshire East of England

Was staying in a nearby travelodge and ordered from here. Have to say this was the best Dominos takeaway I have ever had. Perfectly cooked pizza and chicken wings. Wouldn't hesitate to order from here again if in town.

Had I read the reviews previously, I would not have gone in!! I’m glad I didn’t!! Great bagel, full of Brie & cranberry with a salad & crisps on the side. Delicious. Spiced fruit cake was also delicious. My Mrs said the chocolate she had was very good and my coffee was more than passable. Me thinks the poor reviews must just be jealous owners of other local establishments. The staff were helpful and courteous and the only real problem I had was the lack of tables. Many taken by selfish individuals chatting (and even knitting) long after they had finished what they’d bought!!

Attended a networking event this morning and what a lovely private space upstairs, lovely seating and decor 👍I enjoyed an Earl Grey and all the other ladies enjoyed hot drinks! I’ll be back to try the cake 🍰

Absolutely vile disgusting burger van big fat rude man serving felt almost inconvenienced to ask him to serve us whilst he chatted with his mates , only plus point is another van not far try that instead

Super staff and quick service, although the food offering was basic - good for a refuel though. Shame the garden centre was sparse in its offering too

Says order failed but doesn't say why. Says to try again so I do. Same bs. Trying to order to collect not even for delivery. Doesn't say the issue, Google says they are open? Contact details were there to get in touch and tell me the issue. Guess I'll be using some other place then. Utter waste of time, terrible service.

Great place for drinks and a bit of a boogie; specialise in cocktails.

So good we had it twice in 1 week. Cheep and cheerful. Best coleslaw I’ve ever had! High quality chicken. Spicy rice was lovely.

Pleased to see a massive improvement in delivery times. My original review said to only ever collect but over the last few months they’ve hired more drivers and food always arrives reasonably quickly and hot. Quantity of toppings is also more consistent now (some of the older reviews about lack of topping were accurate at the time). They’re friendly in-store and remember you if you order moderately often. Nice people and they always try to be helpful. Folks complaining about the Dominos app ought not to be leaving a review of this individual store. The franchises are subject to Dominos’ centralised inability to maintain their website’s functionality (just as much as we are as customers.)

Firstly on a positive note. I had the mixed grill and my wife had the chicken strips. Both very nice and reasonably priced. However the issue came with the deserts. We both had apple Crumble. The crumble was not crumbly. But microwaved to an inch of its life. Extremely hope. Extremely sweet. But NOT value for money. I did complain to a staff member about the issue. But she said there was nothing they could do and that’s how they come. The custard was cold and Lumpy. I did say that I wouldn’t be having them again and that she said fair enough. There was no offer for compensation or to have something different. Both of us left our deserts. I would rather had given the £11.00 spent to a charity than pay the pub for two awful puddings. Such a shame. It could have been so much better. We live and learn. Be warned.

Great service and great food! I booked Mevan for my mums 60th birthday meal for 35 people. Everything ran smoothly and everyone loved their meals. Thank you so much for all your help 🩷

My partner and I were each fined £50 for staying 13 minutes too long in the carpark! (In this rural location!) We complained that they don't give you long enough to enjoy your meal and received a cop out answer about needing enough parking for all customers. McDonald's have lost two life long customers. We won't ever be eating at a McDonald's again. Utterly disgusted with them.

Really unfortunate experience with this papa John’s! I’ve always enjoyed the food, especially as a vegetarian however, tonight I ordered a pizza with vegan sausage (knowing what it’s always looked like and how it’s advertised on the website) - I’ve attached photos for reference. When it came, the “meat” looked and smelled completely different and from cross referencing on their website, I am 100% certain it is actually one of their meat options!! I called to complain and did get a refund (although polite, it still took battling with the person on the phone rather than a “free pizza next time I order”.) they told me it was a new version of the meat free sausage but there is nothing across any of their branding to advise that is the case. If so, why isn’t it advertised? Even then, it’s not what I specifically ordered. I personally think someone has made a mistake and is trying to cover it up!! Very disappointed the mistake was made and it’s also a waste of food as it will be going in the bin! Again, I appreciate them refunding but there was no ownership from them what so ever. Thank god I checked before taking a bite. Unfortunately, won’t be using them again. A warning to all veggies and vegans to check their food before eating from here!
