THE BEST 👌 RESTURANT IN HOLT AS MY LATE MUM CAROL LOVED 😍 GOING IN FOR A MEAL SHE DIED IN 😢 2019 FROM LIVER CANCER I HAVE MY LOVELY MEMORIES OF BOTH OF 😊 IN THERE AND I WILL DO SO AGAIN TO REMEMBER MY LATE MOTHER 👩 CAROL WHO LOVED CHAPEL YARD CAFE!

Found this open on the last day of our short break and left wishing it had been open earlier in the week. The best vibes and coffee in Holt by a long mile.

We called in for lunch today and immediately were impressed with the friendly and welcoming staff. The cortado I had was out of this world and the toasted sandwich was the best I’ve had in a long time. Another feature I liked was the deli with its well stocked cheese. I will be back!

Dec 30th 430 we popped in for a coffee amd hot chocolate with my young son. It was not clear we needed to wait to be seated as must have entered the wrong door, this was our first and now last visit. After 5 minutes my husband asked to order drinks and we were met with rude hostility. Surprised we had sat down and indignant that we wanted to order a drink, rather than explaining the process. Proceeded to tell us they were fully booked for dinner - well it was 430 and very few people in there so not sure how long they anticipated a coffee would take?! I have no umbrage at the process but the tone and delivery was appalling. As new residents to Holt this could have been a very attractive offer for us as a family but instead we will not entertain here again. Disappointing

Stayed for my wife's birthday nice old hotel room with lots of character. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very tasty

New owners, very friendly & new food it was all great! I stopped off whilst out on the bike and had a great bacon butty followed by superb hot fudge cake with cream!

Having lived in Leicester for many years before moving to Holt we’re very used to a good curry (some of the best anywhere in the country) so wasn’t expecting too much from here but Taste of India in Holt has surpassed our expectations and then some. It’s an intimate and small restaurant so sometimes hard to get a table as it’s very popular with the locals and tourists alike so I highly recommend you book in advance if you wish to visit here. The chef produces some really authentic dishes along with the traditional favourites with the Dansak worthy of a special mention (best we’ve ever had!) and will gladly spice them up if, like us, you like lots of heat! Their Tarka Dall and plain naan are also exceptional and worth a mention, we’ve never had a bad meal from here with the staff always attentive and accommodating. The only slight negative would be the decor could do with updating and the seating re-covering but you don’t go there to eat the seating do you? If you are after a great Indian meal then I would say this is the best restaurant around, visited many others in both Sheringham and Cromer and they just don’t compare. I highly recommend The Taste Of India if you are after a good curry.

We booked for a family Sunday lunch, when calling to book there were a lot of hums and ha’s making it sound really difficult to take our booking. The staff looked as though it was dress-down Sunday. The food was well presented and tasty but very expensive for what it was.

Very mixed review! Positives. Quick service. Chow mein was great. Neutral - Curry was okay but lacked a bit of flavour, peas were noticeably undercooked. Crackers were very thick & hard in places Negatives - overcharged what the menu said quite significantly, also missed an entire dish from the order & it was too far to go back for 1 meal. Sweet & sour sauce was like jelly. Chicken balls were small & were probably 70% batter 30% chicken.

Cute little coffee shop tucked away just off main high street. Delicious cakes, good coffee and very nice hot chocolate! Biscuit jar full of biscuits for dogs - very friendly all round! Toilets upstairs. I safely left my husband and our dog there whilst I browsed the lovely shops😊

Staying in holt over the new year and popped in for few drinks with family. Great little pub Friendly staff and great atmosphere and cosy Prices good 👍🏼 Definitely recommend

What a way to take advantage of late October sunshine? Sitting out with a bottle of wine and tucking into another amazing Crab Royale salad. The local delicacy, dressed crab along with cockles, smoked mackerel, prawns, coleslaw & potato salad. Probably the best value lunch along this pricey stretch of coastline. Roll on next summer for more visits to this quirky seafood shack...although interesting to see developments inside... a packed cute indoor restaurant, toasty warm, gingham tablecloths and candlelit tables. An ideal spot for birders and walkers on a nippy day. A lovely warm welcome as usual and a family business to cherish.

The restaurant is out in the sticks so there was plenty of parking. The room was very quirky, full of pig ornaments and pictures. The table decor was very simple. The food was amazingly good. Simple dishes cooked just right. Mrs Barganax opted for the belly pork and black pudding. I had the half bbq chicken. Alas, there was no room for dessert.

Dreadful experience. Fish & chips very poor, curry sauce stayed in the bowl when turned upside down. Very confusing to order and service slow , had thought we would give it another go after a poor experience a few years ago. Won’t make the same mistake again. Very disappointed.

This is the third 2 magpies bakery cafe we have been too. Both Blakeney and Wells are brilliant. The one at Holt was poor , floor needed sweeping, we were told 3 times they were understaffed. The food selection was very poor, no scones at all. We had to wait to be served, 2 other couples near us waited for ages to be served. I went to pay and had to wait ages. This is not the normal standard we expected from the 2 magpies, will not go to the Holt cafe again. Will carry on with the other two
