The best restaurants in North Norfolk East of England

Just dire. It used to be a super restaurant but now, under younger management, it is a complete rip off. How anyone could rate this highly is beyond me. £6.10 for a small bottle of tiger beer and £7.60 for a dish of soggy cabbage and carrots. Virtually empty on a Friday evening should have been a warning sign.

Lacking atmosphere, even though pub nicely decorated for Xmas Charged are greater than the quality of the meal offered.

Had a quick beer in the evening, fire was on. Lovely.

A stunning place in a stunning location, let down by mis management, no food available on the menu, which I read is the norm. Not satisfactory as we were residents who didn't want to travel outside of the pub. 30 seconds walk to roys, which was ideal on a shopping trip. But the food when it did arrive was tepid! And not very enjoyable...but the icing on the cake was when we sat there for three hours and witnessed the young barman who truly did not smile once...not a welcoming sight for customers!

Four of us visited on a Saturday lunchtime for a birthday/Christmas meal and had pre booked the set Christmas menu. All of us agreed that everything was absolutely delicious. The turkey was very tasty along with everything else on our plates. We honestly couldn't fault it and we all agreed it was the best roast we have had in any restaurant. The whole three courses were lovely and very reasonably priced. Service was warm and friendly. The pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Well done everyone there we shall definitely return.

Site was ok for a pitch up site. Very noisy near and close to the road, ok for one night I suppose if your stuck. The Green Man pub very basic and not like the pictures are showing on Trip Advisor. Not the most scenic site in Norfolk. Will not return .

Food only 1 star as we didn't eat. Chose twice and due to lack of stock replenish in between Xmas and New Year. So bear circumstances in mind to the rating given.

The normal excellent food and service was simply missing tonight, enough to take this off our list fir the future. We visit here around 8 times a year. Tonight we booked a Christmas meal. Soup was lovely. Pate arrived as two large slices with no relish or chutney but only 3 very small pieces of toasted fresh bread - a request for more bread resulted in 2 cold white slices of store bread. Main meal arrived- one had 1 slice of gammon and 2 slices of turkey, the other 4 slices of turkey - all were very. Veru dry. Covered in a largely amount of congealed gravy. With frozen roast potatoes which were not hot, just warm. Vegetables of Brussels, carrots, broccoli and red cabbage along with pigs in blankets were all OK. No parsnips. We sent them both back. Two desserts - Christmas pudding which was lovely and a cheesecake which though huge, wasn't a cheesecake. Two meals with 2 Guinness cost us £60, after a ruffled waitress "comp'd" the drinks.

Absolutely lovely pub, probably the best roast I have ever had. The food was amazing and staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

After a long walk we came into two magpies, met by the loveliest staff member ( long curly hair), great service, great food, super hot drinks. Perfect on a miserable damp day !

The staff in this place need a dammed good shake up!!! I've visited twice in the last month. First time food took 45 minutes to arrive, even though I'd seen her plate it up and leave on the side for over 5 minutes. Coffee is absolutely vile. She was also extremely rude and not welcoming at all. 2nd visit there were no number cards so I couldn't even make an order and the lady at checkout said "Youll just have to wait wont you". So I ended up walking out. Very rude and arrogant staff both times I've been, they are a disgrace to Morrisons.

I know it's fast food but this really wasnt great.

I have eaten here before in September and found the whole Experience to be outstanding so i booked my Family and friends in for a Winter Solstices Luncheon And we all enjoyed are Meals me and my Brother started with Blickling Pheasant Sausage {local to The Gunton Arms} and we both Enjoyed our Starters and i missed on the menu this on the blackboard not the menu that it was pheasant meat made into a sausage and this was a nice surprise this was served on a bed of Lentils. Are mains where also Outstanding Mum my is Vegetarian so for main went for Duck egg and a side of chips on my Recommendation and our Waitress recommendation {Trinity} and we all really Enjoyed our Mains and i must say the Farmhouese Chicken was so succulent and Moorish i finshed mine and my Brothers off then Derserts for everyone else in the party and a extra Tiramisu martini that i started Our Luncheon with as a Aperitif as i really liked this {seasonally Cocktail} Thank you Gunton Arms Team we will be back

The food was fine, not amazing. Clearly prepared in advance and then reheated as it came out so fast. Starters arrived before our drinks! Nice setting, dog friendly and warm welcome.
