The best restaurants in North Norfolk East of England

Went in low season (January) 2025, with my husband, living in Norwich. Not especially busy but at low season the staffing levels are lower. But this did not detract from the dining experience. The staff who were working were fantastic. Karol greeted us in and took us to our table giving us a few minutes to decide what we wanted. On a cold Sunday afternoon the decision was easy, and we both had a roast sirloin of beef. The service was fast and our Sunday lunch with all the trimmings was delicious, although (and I am being really picky because the meal was very good), I wish I had been given more carrots. Finished off with a small Bakewell sponge pudding with custard. Our thanks to Jordan, Tracey and Karol for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back, you have an amazing pub/restaurant.

Lovely warming bar and restaurant we popped in after a walk along the cliffs from Cromer. Stopped for a bit to eat. Great service, attentive, polite staff and tasty food.

They said it would take 45 minutes but been waiting for 3 hours. They should be closed down.

Only started to visit our local Whetherspoon in Fakenham recently. On Thursday evening it was very busy and despite only one person taking the food to tables the service was still quick. The staff were pleasant and well presented. The food was reasonably priced and included a drink. Quality of food was as good as you would get in a good pub. The coffee is very good and for £1 you can have as many as you want. I like the idea there is no music as it encouraged people to talk to each other. So all in all a good experience at a Whetherspoon pub.

why was my rice soggy and why do my noodles have the same taste as an amazon cardboard box, disgrace.

Just had a very enjoyable meal at The Three Swallows. Delicious food and friendly service. We'll definitely be back for more.

It has been far too long since our first visit to this excellent pub. My wife and I are not really pub-people but occasionally we like a Sunday lunch. And we’re on holiday so, what the heck! We booked the day before, online, and pitched up a few minutes late. We were greeted warmly by all the staff and taken to our table by a delightful young lady called Mercedes. Whilst I will eat anything that doesn’t move of its own volition, my wife is more discerning. We explained to Mercedes that my wife is vegetarian and furthermore doesn’t like a big meal. Mercedes offered a child portion at a reduced rate. In the end it was half-price. She was very patient with us and offered two types of water but we opted for a third type, tap water. No problem and a jug of iced tap-water was brought to the table promptly. My wife had the artichoke heart risotto (without the blue cheese) and I had the slow-roast pork shoulder with crackling, potatoes, green veggies and cauliflower cheese. The food was sublime. I can’t remember when it became “de rigueur” to have a big Yorkshire pudd’ and cauliflower cheese with a roast lunch but there they were and they were excellent. Stuffed to the gills I had a flat-white to end with, which was also delicious. James was at the till to take out money. We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again; if you are within striking distance of Langham, do yourself a favour and visit the Bluebell. You’ll not be disappointed. Meanwhile we had the best server in Mercedes. Nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive without being overbearing and made our visit extremely pleasant. Thank you, Mercedes.

Not a lot of choice, too fancy food not cooked brilliantly, over priced. The pub needs to serve more traditional pub fare. Service not great, we were forgotten about on numerous occasions during our sitting.

Always had good food from here and staff are always polite and respectful! Keep it up guys 👍👍🍢

Great night, great service. Fantastic pub with really nice staff will to go the extra mile to please. Burger was delicious, beer was crisp and cool.

Lovely cosy pub. Very dog-friendly. Food is standard pub fare, reasonably priced. Very nice wood-burning stove kept us warm over lunch.

This used to be a very nice traditional pub, with a good menu - what a difference a year makes! Bar moved, decorated in dull blue colour making the place look drab & uninviting. Barely anything on the menu bar fish & chips! Only 4 other diners in the place & like us were driven out due to thumping drum & bass music --- is that necessary at lunchtime?!? Won't be going back anytime soon.

Popped in for Sunday lunch. It was dreadful! Cold limp veg,cold roast potatoes ,the veg looked like it had been taken off someone else's plate after they had finished with it.The only good bit was the lump of beef.

McDonalds as you would expect, Staff ok quick service and the McDonalds taste and prices as usual. Clean as well.
