Excellent meal today when we visited as a party of 6 for my adult daughterās birthday lunch . All our dishes were very tasty , beautifully presented ,hot and swiftly arrived together . The service from all the staff was professional and friendly . Thank you for accommodating 2 well behaved dogs and my daughterās birthday cake ! We would recommend the sail loft and hope to return when in the area .

Sadly very disappointed. Ordered fish and chips. The fish was tasteless, the batter was hard and over-cooked, the chips were soggy and disappointing. Whilst the service was friendly it was inefficient. Disappointing because in the past this restaurant has been very good. Maybe they were having a bad day or maybe the management has changed.

We used to go to this cafe years ago and always enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately today our experience was not a good one. Felt like I spent more time queuing for drinks and then back for food than sitting down and enjoying the experience. The menu seems somewhat downgraded from when we went before (very limited - no JPs or salads etc.). In the counter pastries (sausage rolls and tea cakes) sold out by 11:30. But for us we ordered 2 x bacon, cheese and tomato paninis (Ā£8ea with no salad garnish!). I think the photos show the problems, as one of the guests are in early pregnancy I am really disappointed this grey spoilt meat was served. They didnāt come round and ask how the food was like most restaurants do, so we took the plate up the girl looked confused and took it to the kitchen they offered another one (noting no apologies given) but spoilt meat was enough to put us off and they did complete a refund for the one that was off quickly. Such a shame but to be served off meat is pretty terrible for a well established cafe. Wonāt be back, which is such a shame. Note: we are not people to complain so this is a rarity. The shop however is still a lovely visit.

This is my favorite cafe and bakery in Southwold. Iāve lived abroad and visited coffee shops all over the world, and this one has a special community feel. The team here are so warm and welcoming, genuinely lovely people. The cafĆ© has an inviting, friendly atmosphere, with regulars coming in every day. I've had plenty of spontaneous conversations here that have genuinely brightened my day. The coffee has rich flavors and is strong enough to wake me up for my morning writing session, and the pastries are freshly made and delicious. It is the only coffee shop on the main high street with big, tall windows which run all along the front of the cafe, meaning it gets plenty of light and is also great for gazing out the window while you sip your coffee and chat with friends or sit and read/write. Thereās a cute courtyard out back with plenty of seating. Iām so happy I found this place and will continue to come daily whenever Iām in Southwold. I highly recommend a visit!

The place is definitely popular as there were two queues from different doors so confusing from the beginning. They must have been closing down as there were different flavours on each side and the servers seemed to be rushing to call last order. The gelato was delicious though, just not sure if it makes up for the wait and price.

What a rip off for Ā£23! They had hardly any chips left, so rather than cook fresh ones they gave us the scraps they had left! Bear in mind it was only 12:30, not close to closing time! Chewy dried up chips! Fish was ok, nothing special. All very greasy and below average!

Ā£39 for a 3 course Sunday lunch or Ā£36 for 2 courses?! No veggie roast dinner option although I was offered frozen veg sausages or just a load of veg. It was VERY expensive for an average service and an ok meal. The carrots were hard and no green veg but other than that it was ok just VERY expensive for what it was. Also the front.l of the building needs some attention, entering is quite depressing with peeling paint etc Also we ate in the bar and a local came in and was chatting away to the bar man and frequently swearing at high wasnāt pleasant

A lovely venue to share a relaxing overnight before the Christmas rush. Fabulous food (dinner and breakfast), a great room with huge bath and endless hot water. Our host was fun to chat with and very knowledgeable about the food (cooked by his amazing wife) and the area. It was our third visit and certainly will not be our last. Great value for money.

Popped in for food tonight with the familyā¦. Food was really good , itās just the sullen look and unfriendly attitude of the young lady that served us, I was made to feel like everything was an effort ā¦. Come on adnams do better with the training ā¦ at least teach these people to smile and engage with customers

Clever place - go for fish and chips and leave it there. ordered 2 cod and chips - wasn't cod. but probably few places are. we thought excellent. mushy peas - great size portion of them. the sea food platters we saw - ting crab [legal?] - crayfish tails - Booker or Costco - miniscule lobsters - not ones swimming in the tank. not freshly caught as too small - where huge profit made. specials - unsaleable sole as so small - just avoid and have whitefish and chips. Staff lovely and place nice. trick on wine - 10% alcohol for many to lower duty - at Ā£25 for housewine - works out at about Ā£32 if normal strength. mr owner knows what he is doing - good luck to him but stick to whitefish and chips and this place will make you happy.
