The best restaurants in Welwyn Hatfield East of England

Terrible service from them. Called 30 minutes before picking up and they confirmed the order. After going to pick up the order, they said they did not receive an order and were very rude to us. Even after showing proof that we did call them, they were arguing with us. Very ill-mannered staff. Would never buy from here again and would never recommend them to anyone.

There were 9 adults and 2 children and the service was terrible we waited nearly an hour for our food, that was very slow being brought out, it was cold which was probably because the plates were cold and it took so long to get to the table. As a group of family we will never be visiting again. The staff were not very friendly all quiet rude.

The drive was nice with view of the country roads. On arrival rooms are very basic not much to view apart from the Pods and fields. Unfortunately, there are no facilities at the hotel e.g. spa, gym, etc just a bar with small sitting area that closes at 12am. As your in the middle of no where you literally spend time in the room & go dinner then back to room😮‍💨 The hotel doesn't offer any other food e.g. Breakfast apart from the dinner which you pay for in the stay which is also overpriced. Personally, Food & drinks overated it needs to be reviewed as you can get a better variety of quality food in other places especially local vendors on your high street. The building itself is historically beautiful for private hire as you can utilize the grounds but waste of money for travel, dine & stay. You can better value & quality in Holiday Inn! Recommend to visit Pods in London instead more to do for a day & night trip.

Don’t come here for a partner or loved ones bday. Firstly, they will treat you like any other customer (despite paying £100 extra for decorations) and they will put you in a pod that not only is super crammed and claustrophobic, but also decorated like EVERY OTHER POD. There could have been a bit or personalisation if you’re going to do that, maybe the name of the person’s bday in that pod to make them feel more special considering every pod is identical. There was no originality, there was no warmth, the waiters seemed focused on scaring us every time they knocked and playing a game by alternating between coming to the window and opening the massive door. There was a heater in the pod like the outdoor heater kind of ones which was nice but it got too hot at one point so had to shuffle all the way over to the other side to turn it off. Then we got cold so I had to repeat it. TL;DR - overpriced, underwhelming service coupled with some ok food but almost no ambience, atmosphere or view. Won’t be coming back, I recommend you’d search for London’s Secret Garden instead.

We came here for dinner as staying in the hotel, it was awful. There were only two members of staff working the whole hotel and restaurant. They were run off their feet and the wait times were appalling. We waited an hour for our meal and it wasn't even busy. When the food came it wasn't not great either. The steak was supposed to be rare it was well done. People were sat down on chairs in the queue to for the bar because the wait was so long. Was really disappointed as we had a three year old with us who was hungry. Don't recommend at all!!

Really delicious food, which tasted really fresh. Our waitress Natalie was so so lovely. Really happy, full of smiles and couldn’t do enough for us (including making our desserts!!) she made our afternoon so much better. Thank you Natalie. My little boy thought you were great and he loved the chocolate ice cream!!

Bad experience while ordering food the guy is not talking properly and they kept on adding some charges really too bad experience

Very disappointed with my experience in Prezzo's. Although we were first to arrive at the restaurant and a little ahead of our booked time, it was over 45 minutes before our starters arrived. The Mushroom & Mascarpone Arancini were a very unpleasant consistency and taste. My main meal of Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni equally disappointed. The cannelloni was rubbery, the whole dish was overcooked/ burnt and dry and there was little, if any evidence of either a béchamel or tomato sauce - just a thin layer of(dried out) cheese melted over the cannelloni. It was also only lukewarm. My friend's chicken dish had pink in the centre, such that she felt unable to finish it, once she discovered this. My only reason for not making a fuss was because I was out with (new) friends and di not want to spoil the evening by making a fuss.

Honestly the best Nando’s we have had, and we’ve had a lot. We went to Hatfield Nando’s on a busy Friday night at peak time for the first time. From the beginning, we had a great experience. All the staff were welcoming and they quickly cleaned and found us a table. Al, the staff went above and beyond, the manager seemed great - by far the best service I have had in a Nando’s. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Honestly could not fault, which is not always the case at this chain. Thank you!

Ordered the roitissery chicken it was dry burnt and cold. Was very disappointed with the food. The staff were polite. Wouldn’t go there for dinner again. We only went there because we couldn’t not get a booking at the wonderful bulls head restaurant in Turnford

I cannot recommend breakfast with Santa enough. It was amazing. My 3 year old, myself and my mother were greeted at the door by elves who had an activity pack and breakfast ready for my little one, which was prepared really well and allergy free for him which I'm really impressed about. The adult breakfast came quickly and was really good. Followed by songs and Santa, who I can say is the best Santa we've ever seen. The layout, interaction and every detail was amazing! This is our 2nd year doing this and we will continue every year. Thank you Dutch Marketplace!

It’s with a heavy heart that I write this review as the staff at the restaurant are really nice and I feel bad for them, but the food is not anywhere near the standard that anyone would expect in an Indian restaurant and certainly not what I’m use to, I’d go as far to say that the chef must have been off that night because it would be impossible for them not to know how bad it was I ordered a Chicken Tikka Madras and it was awful.. dry hard chunks of tikka chicken which appeared to have been added to a heavily tomato based sauce with lots of red pepper thrown in and stirred, it was a shame because the front of house were brilliant.. I didn’t complain as I never do were food is concerned, just paid .. tipped the waiter and we left. This is a completely unbiased review and I only write it to help the restaurant improve.. I was basically served with what tasted like a tin of tomato soup with dry lumps of tikka chicken heavily dosed with cayenne pepper, heated thru and stirred. We went to a different Indian restaurant the next night and had possibly the best meal I’ve had in long time .. I’m just sorry I hadn’t gone there first.. live and learn

They really need to sort out their system. Not for their first time we went for breakfast and booked in the restaurant. They couldn’t find the booking but said sit anywhere. We took a table only to be told we were in the conservatory and we should order at the counter rather than be in the restaurant and get table service. Then told when I tried to order an extra item “it doesn’t work like that” when we’d done exactly that the previous time. Food was ok but the needlessly over complicated system (are you in the conservatory or the restaurant, when it all looks part of the same place)!really lets them down.

I have been using this Simmons for many years and have noticed a significant reduction in customer service. A general lack of courtesy and manners has become the norm and it is very disappointing. My presence at the counter was ignored by staff just today even though the place was almost empty and over spilling with staff, who seemed to be engaged in talking to each other.
