Aside from some great marketing and un verified ratings the food choice was acceptable, service was over shadowed by some regular guests social interaction with staff members which could easily be misconstrued as a mother's meet and greet session, first visit left an everlasting impression, plenty to work on.

We had green curry and pad Thai. The food was excellent, well presented and delicious and the service was friendly and helpful.

Seems a popular place. Staff were rushed but friendly. Made a good fried breakfast for just under a tenner. Also catered for my son's wish to have chilli-con-carne in the morning. Worth noting the coffee was great too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone in that vicinity wanting a good meal or a hot drink.

Used to love the Bolognese pizzas from here ordered tonight disappointed with the food had high expectations aswel can’t taste the bolegnese more like tomato waste of money Parmesan’s like a thin and burgers not that great the parmesans not great but it’s the best of a bad bunch

My and my sister received excellent service from polite and kind staff here. Drinks were incredibly well made and we had an exciting and interesting menu to choose from. I definitely recommend the Irish rose syrup in an Ethiopian cold brew as it’s a lovely and unique flavour combination! Plenty of milk alternatives are offered for those who are lactose intolerant. Service is efficient and prices are really great! Homemade vegan and gluten free cakes are offered which is a rare find in Bishop Auckland. I couldn’t recommend the Fox’s Tale enough! I have no words. The food we received from this restaurant has to be the best Italian food I have ever ate. You can tell it was homemade, it was simply stunning. Me and my partner are absolutely raving about this place, I would recommend everyone to try, don’t judge a book by its cover as I can’t express how delicious the food was. It wasn’t your ordinary average bolognese and carbonara that we were expecting, it had something extra special to it. Both the chef and waitress we spoke to were so friendly and went out their way to make our night special. Can’t express how amazing the food was, 100% recommend to anyone wanting to give this restaurant a go. You will not regret it.

We recently enjoyed a most excellent dinner at Cape to Cairo in Bishop Auckland and think this little gem of a restaurant tucked down a side road in the centre of town deserves the highest praise. We received very personal and attentive service from the owner who couldn't have done more to ensure our experience was a truly memorable one. The menu is full of very interesting dishes and prices are extremely reasonable - it was hard to know what to choose - and we were more than delighted with the Durban curry, Cape Burger and Chicken four ways. We also thoroughly enjoyed an impromtu bonus performance by a Zimbabwean A cappella group - truly amazing! We will certainly remember our visit to Cape to Cairo very fondly. Thank you very much!
