The best restaurants in Loftus Redcar and Cleveland North East

Very pleased to see that this shop has reopened after a long closure. Got a tasty sausage and chips - they stop cooking fish when getting near closing times, I arrived at 18:50 and sausage and chips was the only dish on offer. Be careful of restricted opening hours, particularly early closing times in the evenings. Edit - since I updated the hours last week, they have changed again and the shop now closes at 7:00pm on Fridays.

We went to Spices as we fancied a curry and we were not disappointed. The food was superb and so yummy. In fact, we couldn't eat it all and the waiter kindly put what we left in a takeaway box, which we had for lunch the next day. Would definitely go again when visiting Saltburn.

What a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Staff extremely friendly, food was fantastic and everything was spot on. This place is wonderful, both in the summer and the winter… don’t miss out coming here if you can. The open fire and log burner just makes it all that much better.

Asked for 2 lattes and got 2 very milky weak coffees. Disappointed as normally you get a nice latte from Camfields. The paper cups are a let down too the lids have a bigger hole when drinking it goes everywhere. Went in the bin today and not cheap either.

Service is terrible. We ordered 2 cakes and 3 coffees. Cakes arrived but had been cut smaller than what was shown on display. We then waited over 30 minutes for our drinks. Went in to ask when we could expect them the girl said soon. I insisted on repeating my order as she had no clue what she was making only to get it wrong! No apology from any of the staff. I was not the only customer waiting for drinks for this length of time. The cafe was not that busy! Also very expensive. Unfortunately I would not recommend. I prefer supporting independent coffee shops but at this time I would have preferred a Costa!

Disappointed to be told only pork and beef available on arrival at the downstairs bar to pay but decided to go ahead with the carvery anyway, 2 choices better than no choices right? By the time we got seated and went to the actual carvery the only choice of meat was beef. The dinner was its usual quality and enjoyable but when only one meat available surely a discount should be offered?

IF YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS DONT THINK IT IS GOING TO BE LIKE THIS. Lots of homemade cakes ect there was a few cakes the latte coffee is out of a machine and not hot or nice the tea was not hot and the only piece of lemon cake my wife left half of it as it was tasteless.Really bad for £9 10p and 1 pm my wife went inside to use the toilet and said it looked more like a junkshop GIVE IT A MISS WE WILL FROM ON

a great place to go we go every week after our walk and are meet with very friendly staff and great tea and pies and cakes, always make you fell welcome

Absolutely delicious food. The honey chilli king prawn is incredible. Lovely service.

Great service very good price and very tasty

We passed this place in the rain on our way to our holiday let and decided it looked so welcoming we would go there for dinner. We are so glad we did. Ian was so welcoming, as were the locals. The food was delicious and as warm as the welcome. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
