The best restaurants in Yarm Stockton-on-Tees North East

Went in for lunch with friends and will never return. When the food was brought to the table the food was literally just dumped. They got my order wrong and when I queried it I was accused of being wrong. No apology given. Said they would rectify my order by sending the correct side out but never did so I ate the part of the meal that was correct as it was going cold. Never had such terrible customer service. On a positive note the part of the meal I ate was nice. However after I emailed a complaint, the manager Andy was fantastic. Very apologetic and clearly cares about customer experience.

Do not visit this place for food or coffee through the day time. Inexperienced and rude staff clearly out of their depth when the small pub is full. Empty plates scattered everywhere, sticky tables, cold coffee, long wait times for food. Nicer places in yarm to visit. You'll pay a bit more but will have a much better experience. Avoid.

Excellent Parmos and scrumptious pizza.

Worst chicken biryani takeaway ever with watered down sauce. It was Luke warm and tasted of grease. I didn't receive a reply to my complaint but staff were aware and gave me a refund. They offered a free meal as well. I was hesitant but thought couldn't make a bad job of chicken tikka masala. How wrong I was! Again watered down sauce which was bright red and full of grease, half a dozen cubes of chicken floating in it. Nan bread ordered half the size of local Indian takeaway. I have a feeling they serve better food in the Resteraunt and skimp on takeaways. As many people wouldn't complain. In future will order from Durham Lane.

Great lunch today thanks Ladies, nice and cosy with the real fire and Christmas decorations Popped in again today for lunch with friends. Doombar pie was lovely, and Sean & Christine even let us cuddle the dogs Can't believe we missed the dogs, but another great visit today is a lovely atmosphere today with sunshine Best atmosphere on the High Street 👌 Great visit..Live 🎶 tonight was great. I ❤️ this pub in the summer sunshine Loved the cheesy dj music 🎶 last night real role back to my younger days Lovely friendly welcome with fires on and Sean looking after us as always, on a miserable day and making us smile. Thanks Lovely lunchtime visit, freezing outside but as always team Black Bull had all the fires on and it was very cosy having our fish and chips on the deal Thanks

This place used to be great but I think it’s changed hands. No more iconic pie dinners. Food not great. Not bad but pretty tasteless. Came a long way for the Barnicles experience but left sad and disappointed.

Just been in and the service was terrible. I ordered a 12 inch meat feast and they gave me a 10inch garlic bread. Terrible service. Avoid at all at all costs

Sunday lunch here was excellent,good service, and really good value,didn't have long to wait for the meals to arrive,would certainly return.

I have to say, people are too quick to say bad things about all their experiences! Seriously people. I don't know if you are so piss poor that you can't afford to eat out? Or that you just love to complain? Read all of my other reviews and you will see I speak the truth!!! The beverages were chilled to perfection! If I were to score this experience it would most definitely be a 10/10! So people, don't be put off by negativity! Please try this place, its awesome! Food, fresh. Staff, attentive. Surroundings, warm and confortable, overall......absolutely taste sensational fantasticly delicious! Cant wait to return!

Staff are very chatty to their friends but rude and bossy to customers. The tables were dirty, and no one was clearing away. The coffee is extremely strong and bitter It will be Costa next time……..

Took ages to get any service at all despite only a handful of customers. I specifically asked for no tomatoes due to an allergy and the salad came full of tomatoes. Food was OK. Other customers in their included an out of control dog which no one seemed bothered about

Took a friend her to celebrate a milestone birthday. I have no grumble with staff or the service, staff were all lovely and our server was very attentive and friendly. Personally, I think the hotel is looking a little tired so not as luxurious as I’d hoped and for £28 per person the afternoon tea was not that exciting. 5 fingers of different flavoured sandwiches, standard fillings and a selection of tiny cakes and savouries that didn’t blow me away. We had a lovely afternoon and were well looked after but I’ve had nicer afternoon teas for a fraction of the price in slightly less “premium” locations.
