The best restaurants in Blackburn with Darwen North West

We were on our way home from Preston and trying to think of a good chippy in Blackburn but sadly we realised all the good ones were no longer open. We came across Cherry Tree chippy but wondered if it would be ok as it’s a Chinese take away ( not that we’re averse to a Chinese) . We ordered steak pud ( Hollands) chips, large mushy peas and large gravy. Theirs plenty of chips for 2 in a portion of chips. It was absolutely delicious and hot even though we were several miles from home. Took a menu and we will certainly be back. Staff really pleasant and quick service.

Last night, along with a friend, we ventured into K2 Chippy, we were actually walking towards Kebabish, but realised that it may shut soon, so therefore decided to walk into K2 Chippy. The guy who served us was pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We placed our order and sat down, waiting patiently for our food, we had to ask them to clean our table, which to be fair, they promptly did without any hesitation. We were then ushered that our food was ready to be taken from the counter, to our disgust, the lamb and chicken curries was served in yellow plastic containers, the ones in which most take away's serve chips in. We asked for additional cutlery to take out the curries in, which they kindly obliged along with spoons, however they had no spoons, so we found ourselves scraping curries into other yellow containers with plastic forks. It really was frustrating, both dishes were below average, the chicken dish was unpleasant, the chicken was hard and difficult to chew, the lamb dish had a foul smell. They'd forgotten our kebabs to which we then had to advise the pleasant individual who took our order, he apologised. The only thing positive from this whole experience is the decency and pleasant demeanor of the individual who took our order, however this is where the pleasantries cease. The food was vile and disgusting, I'm sorry K2 Chippy, I shall not be visiting again.

Afternoon tea. Very mean portions. Tiny slivers of sausage roll and cake. One small scone. For similar prices to others eg. midland Hotel in MCMB who provide a much cleaner and special experience with more food and better service. Coffee cup very dirty. Returned and gave us another cup with a different sticky mess on it. Not great

I ordered food to takeaway and was really disappointed by the standard of food, was expensive but didn’t mind paying until I realised how small the portions were for the price paid and also really didn’t taste so good either so won’t be back

Went to the bottomless brunch on Sunday . Very impressed with the service we received. They were very attentive and we was never without a drink. Food was great too. Wide selection of drinks. Will be returning. Can’t thank them enough for the great service.

We went for Christmas Day, me my husband and my three sons. It was fantastic, we thought you had to order off the Christmas menu but you didn’t, we had the full menu to choose from. We ordered the starter for four which was delicious and masala lamb chop which were out of this world. The mains, jalfrezi, chicken masala, prawn purée were fantastic. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, they made us feel really welcome, having a few jokes it was great. We will definitely be booking for next year. Thank you to all the staff at Akash you made our day really special.

Ordered 2x sirloin and 1x ribeye. As opposed to other reviews demonstrating thick cut medium-rare steaks unfortunately this time around the cuts were very thin, almost like cheese burgers, not juicy, cooked to utter dryness. Sorry but imo worse than the steak I cook from store-bought 2 for 1 Aldi Sirloin's.

Two girls one very young! Serving drive through and inside counter? 20 mins waiting at the counter? One more staff would have made a lot of people happy. Instead or irritated.

I am badly disabled now I do like the steak pudding from here NEVER AGAIN 1st time they came out drove pass me took 13min to get to me 2nd time same again 3rd time same again 4th time even worse he didn't just drive pass my home he went in the CUD-SAC now my instructions were very clear a 5yr old could understand do not go into THE CUD-SAC he than got out and walked my food was cold I did scream at the stupid little man and this is suppose to be the owner I said 16min its taken you since you drove pass my food is called the very thick man said "HOW DO YOU NO" I said here feel it take it back and came in NEVER GET A TAKE AWAY DELIVERED unless you want it cold

I ordered Spaghetti Bolognese, cannelloni and garlic bread. The food was absolutely disgusting, I've never tasted anything so awful in my life. Really disappointed.

Always love the chips and sausages from here. Puts a smile on both me and my gf's face!

Visited as a group of 10 tonight whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door. The food was fantastic and the staff and owner very friendly. There was a loud table near us and the owner dealt with it admirably and couldn’t apologise enough - a great evening and would definitely recommend a visit !

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch today at the alex today. It's so good to see a local business starting to thrive after such a year so far. We pre ordered our Sunday lunch platter yesterday when we booked a table. The food is amazing we really enjoyed it and fabulous service from the team too. We will definitely be coming again

asked for a cheese toasty, when i looked at what i received i was almost sick. the lack of toasting was unforgivable, this being my SECOND cheese toasty from lite bites. i SHALL NOT be returning here.
