The best restaurants in Kendal Highgate South Lakeland North West

Excellent food in very pleasant surroundings, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were directed here by the sister restaurant Comida after they were too full to fit us in as a last minute booking, it’s the same menu and in my opinion a much nicer environment. We will definitely be going back soon

Very good experience and the range of the hot chocolates is amazing! Good service and good food. The orders came quickly and the service is good. The wallpaper and design of Kakaw is incredible.

After calling this hotel as a courtesy pre booking to inform them we travel with a PTSD service dog, disappointingly the hotel refused the dog. Any service dog owners should book elsewhere. Whilst refusal is illegal the manager did so on allergy grounds.

It's just a take-away but decently priced and the foods not bad. My only criticism is the sweet sour is overloaded with sugar.

The best pie and the best mash we’ve ever tasted. Everyone else’s food looked incredible too. What a gem of a place!

Great Fish and chips freshly cooked. Friendly service. Take away and pre order. Pre pandemic eat in? Good pricing.

Best way I can explain this meal is it was like dish water. Worst chinese ive had. Singapore chow mein was soggy and tasteless. Hoisin sauce tasted like vinegar. Prawn crackers were stale. And when I got home my curry sauce wasnt in there. Terrible.

Don’t seem to stick to opening times or opening days. maybe time to update opening times, absolute joke!

From start to finish the staff were welcoming, it was a relaxed atmosphere and the food was delicious. So glad we chose here and not elsewhere, will definitely come back.

Simple and tasty .Probably the oldest pizza take away in Kendal.Amazing Garlic bread and cheese ,good quality doner and burgers.I like this place.

So many things now wrong with this cafe .Menu extensive but in no way enticing or different Have had better soup out of a tin . Sandwiches very very basic .Don’t go here and expect something special. Go to the bakery next door instead

A great venue for families and couples alike, especially for a meal or drinks before a trip to the cinema. We took our niece for a meal here and it was perfect. There was an affordable pasta and pizza deal on and the food was of good quality and delicious. The kids menu was more than sufficient and there was an activity sheet and colouring pencils provided as well. Would definitely go again!

5 star pub. Dropped in for a quick pint. Warm, clean, Timmy Taylor's was excellent. Bar staff attentive, polite. Will definitely return.
