This place is glorious. The new owner is amazing, Karen's with a capital S... funny as!!!! Food is always fantastic and Sunday dinners have just started so I'll be there way more often. Can't compliment this place enough. Proper little family orientated cafe with a hint of sarcasam. Don't miss it unless you have no sense of humour!!!! 😀😃🙂

Food cooked fresh to order. Quick service , always a cheerful welcome and great food - definitely the best breakfast ever, freshly cooked to order and delicious . Sandwiches and subs made to order with a wide variety of fresh salad and fillings. Highly recommended.

1st time I've ordered frm here, and can say will order again. Food was lovely, staff very courteous to ensure you get exactly what you want in your order. Food just could of been a bit warmer on delivery. Otherwise very satisfied. Thank you 😊

Just stopped here and spent over £20 for two sandwiches and coffees . Asked to add a water for the promotional £1.. too late I’m told ..as I’d paid.. although nothing has need started.. fair enough .. the real disappointment was the filthy tables ..all of them really disgusting .. full of food and spilt drinks .. and flies .. can’t believe that the staff just stood chatting when the tables were horrific

I asked for a quiet cosy/window table, we got put in the back quiet room not in window or corner but by a freezing air con blowing on us, I asked to be moved & we was given a choice of 2 tables neither what we’d asked for and ended up sitting in a family room!!! Waited a long time to be served and had to ask for the bill twice

I have written reviews about The Raj in the past about how good the food, the experience, the atmosphere and the overall package is. Tonight we went and I realised that the main thing that makes The Raj stand out is the customer service. When you enter as a customer for the first or as a regular, you get a warm welcome, you aren't just a customer Anhar, Zak, Safraaz and the team all want to get to know you , to them they want you to become part of The Raj family! You will feel special ( they dont think as kids as getting under their feet, they are welcomed as if they are a valued part of the party!). We went tonight for a family meal and although they had obviously been really busy over the Christmas period, were given the best customer service you could ask for from them, highly recommend and a pleasure to dine there.

Always stay at the black swan when visiting the in-laws for Christmas. I really like the hotel, the rooms have character unlike the sterile franchise ones in the outskirts… rooms are comfy and spacious but as with all independent hotels there are a few niggles… hot water, lack of tea making facilities that take time to sort out compared to a bigger hotel, but it’s well priced and staff have been great and always friendly Breakfast is tasty but severely limited! The roast dinners have been hit and miss. Luke warm and a bit underwhelming but are always a decent size, missing a few trimmings but still have always been happy with the price and the service. Good selection of ales and wines considering the size of the hotel/ restaurant Thanks for the stay and sure I’ll see you again next December.

we ordered at 16.43 and our food wasn't delivered until 18 12 and was cold not happy at all and please would you consider some kind of compensation i look forward to hearing from you soon
