The best restaurants in Brighton and Hove South East

Absolutely amazing meal at The Set last night. Gorgeous 14 course tasting menu that made for an incredible night, atmosphere was perfect and the staff really attentive. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a special evening. Thank you we will definitely be back. Xx

Fantastic spot to stay for a last minute trip on my birthday eve! Location is superb, lovely cocktail bar nearby, plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and phenomenal views of the coast. The bed was incredibly comfy, and the room cosy and tastefully decorated. The shower was a delight particularly after a chilly stroll along the pier. The real highlight however was enjoying a toasty bubble bath while watching the sunrise along the coast through the large bay window to start the day. What a fabulous place to stay, we are already looking forward to our next Brighton break.. thank you!!

Just had there fish and chips and a battered sausage. Jesus when I say the potions are huge they really are, really wasn’t expecting so much but it was all full of taste and was perfect trust me you won’t go hungry after this, and also they are all so friendly when collecting our order. Thanks very much

I thought my usual fish and chip shop was good but this was exceptional. Beautifully fresh Haddock crisp light batter and delicious chips. Definitely recommend and go back when next in the area.

As newly weds we wanted to do a couple of nights away after the wedding with our pooch. It’s always tricky finding gorgeous places to stay with a dog but Artist Residence now tops our list. They took time to ask about what our dog needed which was so thoughtful. We stayed in the balcony apartment which provided us a little more space and is next door to the main hotel entrance. The views and interior were stunning, the whole history behind the start up of the brand and the artwork vibe is right up our street. Small details are gorgeous, they really know how to decorate a room with the right palettes and soft furnishing brands. I was in my element looking at everything. The shower was fab and the bath in the bedroom was fancy. Even the dressing gowns made it that more special and lux - it’s the kind of thing you only expect from a super shiny hotel. Bed was divine and really comfortable, the type you sink into any get lost in. We loved the mid century feel and furniture choices! Staff were friendly and approachable always checking if things were okay which they were. Breakfast was yummy, could have eaten a bigger portion easily. There are lots of food options local and we ordered in pizza and people watched from the balcony. We’ve already got plans to check out the other locations and can’t wait to be back in those surroundings. We’d book again in a heartbeat, it’s 5-stars from us. Thanks for a lovely stay.

What a hidden gem ! Just had the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time . The pastries looked delicious but couldn’t fit it in so will have to come back again , very relaxing vibe & the staff are very welcoming and friendly

Wonderful warm fresh cooked falafel in a brilliant wrap with fresh veg - definitely get the chefs daily special. When i went it was an aubergine dish and it was fantastic. All of the above for a good price and with good service makes it a solid 5/5

Lovely place no glass windows but have heaters lovely and hot for a night visit Bit Hidden away but have a flag outside Don't serve food but you can take your own

Horrible evening. Place was empty, and this is ok. Service was nonexistent. The bartender was alone but also not looking anytime to service customers. The aperol spritz was the worst possible ever, so watered that even the color was like invisible. The pina colada was just meh. Never again. Actually, I’m now not surprised that it was empty.

Lovely little cocktail bar with great vibes. Beware the frozen margaritas, they’re like rocket fuel!!

Nice local restaurant with very good pizzas and family feel to it. Saves a trip into town.

One of the best places to grab a pint in Brighton, Cam and the whole team are so helpful! Definitely would recommend for anyone that wants a locally brewed beer!

The most wonderful owner, who seemingly remembers every single person by name and genuinely cares. Him, and the shop make for a very cosy atmosphere. Simple, but delicious food, and great coffee. Definitely coming back, and so should you ))

We went in on Monday for a free curry (for students) and I am hooked! The people running Tun Tun’s are so friendly, as soon as we walked in they greeted us with a smile and asked whether we’d like “veg, vegan or meat?” I went for the chicken curry. It was still hot when we got home to eat it. Considering it was free food, it was absolutely delicious. Lots of chicken, lentils and veg. Exactly what I needed on a gloomy Monday evening. I will definitely be back to try more of their foods. They also do a £5 deal for students.

Had the tasting menu and it was very good ,lots of flavour and a great home made feel - Its rustic but cosy and the rather quirky ,owner's customer service almost adds to the experience
