Upon arriving, the welcome from the waitress was professional but somewhat cold, ideally you want your initial interaction to be warm, friendly and engaging. Granted, I was the first customer at 08:30 but, this is still important. 3 out of 5 stars. The coffee was beautiful, a flat white. Very impressed. 5 out of 5. I ordered sourdough toast, very easy. I was brought sourdough buttered soldiers which appears to be a line item in the boiled eggs offering underneath. Subsequently I ended up having then to individually butter 10+ pieces of toast when simply, I wanted toast. Whilst it was delicious, this could be better. 2 out of 5. Overall, 3 stars on this visit. Side note, would have liked to have seen poached eggs being offered on the breakfast menu. Think this establishment has a lot of potential with an injection of additional customer service warmth and some tweaks to the menu, will visit again, review and feedback provided as constructive criticism rather than a complaint.

Posh Deli/Grocer shop and take away. Really nice choice of (very) expensive deli goods - but then makes easy catering for guests. I had a salt beef bagel for my lunch - which was lovely (and the salt beef reminded me of what my mum used to do). I had ordered the toastie though.....

All was well for us two in very quiet very old pub in characterful/charming old town. Food was tasty good and we were bit surprised there were only two other customers at lunchtime. Young men at bar were pleasant and there was a roaring fire in the grate on a chilly dreary day outside. Lots of very old ceiling beams and columns which unfortunately had been painted over . Looked it might be a better place to be in spring and summer as there's also a biggish garden at the rear. Worth revisiting?

Where do I start….. food was 20minutes early and cold. We informed the restaurant to leave food at the back of our home yet the delivery driver continued to bang on our front door until, I believe, he actually read the note and left the food at the back. Meat in the starter was undercooked, naan was undercooked, potatoes were over cooked and the chicken was undercooked and not fresh (had a greyish look about them). All our food was inedible, resulting in organising a dinner before the football! We’ll be applying for a full refund!! First time we have ordered here and it was the worst Indian take out we’ve had. Never ordering here again!

I have just had a phone call from my elderly parents & they have asked me to write a review on their behalf. They visited yesterday, Saturday 13th November ‘21 for a light lunch at midday. They both asked for a bowl of soup & whilst the soup was tasty they were both absolutely aghast when the bill arrived. £18.00 for 2 bowls of soup. Yes, you read that correctly, £9.00 for a small bowl. When they asked the waiter why it was so expensive the reply was “It is homemade” Of course it’s homemade, it’s a restaurant. I have been in the restaurant business many years & unless you are ordering soup in a Michelin Star restaurant the price charged at this establishment is shocking. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews but my parents feel so aggrieved by this that they have asked me to post this for them.
