Sunday Roast. After waiting for 10 minutes to be seated, we waited for 15 minutes and had to ask for someone to come and take our order.then waited longer to get our drinks and waited some twenty minutes for our starter. My husbands whitebait was plentiful and he enjoyed it. My beetroot and goats cheese salad was basically a plate full of beetroot slices without any sort of dressing and minuscule squares of goats cheese with tiny pieces of walnut. here and there. Admittedly the waiter brought some more tiny bits of goats cheese. My main course of pork came smothered in a thick (with flour) beef gravy which covered everything else on the plate as well and was not tasty. The stuffing tasted like that out of a package and the Yorkshire and potatoes had gone soft and soggy due to the gravy overload. The apple sauce was a tiny portion and looked like a see through jelly, not pleasant. My husbands beef was way overcooked and looked a nasty brown /dark red colour. He loves beef but left two thirds of it on the plate and did not appreciate the gravy .

I have not ONE bad thing to say about this place, it is our lunch spot of choice every Saturday. As a pub-loving vegan, and partner veggie, we find it hard to find interesting options to eat out, but this place has obviously put a lot of thought into their menu! They even have vegan chicken options in place of meat which I rarely see. And re the place itself, the staff are incredibly welcoming, attentive and friendly, even when the place is busy. They are also really helpful with any changes we ask for with our meals. It is incredibly dog-friendly, they've even brought over biscuits and water for us :) They are also very child/baby friendly which is important to note, having just had a HORRENDOUS experience at a different Kentish pub which claimed to be child-friendly (and evidently was far from it). The place is super cosy inside for winter, which is perfect for anyone who struggles with the sensory overload of brightness (🙋‍♀️) and is decorated with loads of eccentric bits and bobs, we see something new every time. MASSIVE garden outside with HEATERS, which is truly such a gem for places these days. I honestly don't get some of these negative reviews, some people shouldn't eat out. People complaining about 'fatty cheese'?? Sorry, what? Saying the lasagne wasn't made fresh? Do they understand it takes hours to make a lasagne? (The veggie lasagne is actually so delicious too). And the pièce de résistance for me, moaning that they can't be seated for food when the place is at full capacity for food...I am genuinely confused. Anyway, do yourself a service and go here.

Istanbul kebab house , you need to fix up ordered tonight 22/4/23 Clarendon Place, Dover, tonight's food is a disgrace, I would usually rate you ok but tonight was very poor , combined lamb and shish doner, stone cold meat dry and your portions are getting small , I will check at door next time and if its like this time you will be getting it back , and I will find another kebab shop in dover and never use you again ,I will also let all my friends know how poor your food is getting , you can not call that chill sauce more like chill mash potato, thought you turks were supposed to know how to make a kebab , d

I walked into this Waterfront Bar & Lounge early morning after a lovely zen walk along the seafront with my family. Then visited the cafe, then was greeted by a member of staff with a very unfriendly demeanour no morning greeting - I was greeted with a grumpy face and was told “we are busy so you will have to wait! “ So I walked out and went to COSTA - I like to support local business but not this occasion!

We have eaten here a few times now and beyond the first visit which was good the quality just hasn’t been the same since. We ordered the chickpea curry which says it’s slow cooked, it wasn’t, the chickpeas were hard and I could have made better myself, very disappointed as it run by Indians which you would expect a decent curry at least. Services was not great, nobody cleared the table or asked us how the meal actually was. Not big portions either. Shame as the location is nice and the venue is nice too but the food isn’t worth the money
