This place is shocking, some of the worst food Iv ever had. The Donner meat looks and tastes like it just came out of the washing machine the quality of the food is nonexistent it’s cheap and Narsty. The burgers are tasteless like chewing on rubber. The sauces have had water and sugar added to them it’s horrendous and the Shish kebabs are shocking. They are only interested in taking your money, someone is seriously gonna get sick from that place. Dog food at best.

Book this place at you peril. We rang before our booking date as Google was saying site was permanently closed, the site owner didn't let us finish our 1st sentence before he was rude and obnoxious. Then we were told our booked "tent grass pitch with electric hook up" which looked lovely on the site pictures would be on a hardstanding at the side of the road. When I asked how you pitch a tent on a hard standing (didn't seem an unreasonable question to me) we were told to F'off. Decided to book elsewhere, to be honest the bloke can keep the money we paid, I'd rather lose £170 than speak to this bloke again.

A regular haunt for a coffee and catch up with friends. Lovely and friendly with a good range of hot and cold beverages. Occasionally I indulge in a cooked lunch. The food is plentiful, hot and tasty. Ingredients are locally sourced and most (definitely the cakes) are home made. There is a soup of the day. Seating is quite a hotch potch with a couple of sofas, some easy chairs and then tables and chairs of varying sizes. Seating outside is under a large awning so you can sit outside with a dog for instance. Order and pay at the counter, them there is table service. It is hidden way opposite the library behind the shops, but that means that parking is not an issue and is pay and display. It has a little craft shop area where you enter.

Manager reaction to feedback appalling to say the least. Would not allow us to explain our feedback and review when asked. Poor execution of customer service recovery - non existent. It’s a shame as all other staff were very pleasant and courteous. If only the manager as he called himself upheld customer expectations and objectives. Active listening and communication lacking to enhance customer expectations - very disappointing indeed. The proprietor of this establishment seriously needs to consider orchestration by current management in position. Quite clearly not git for purpose and unable to interact with customers with a valid concern regarding their menu choice. A very dignified response from our reservation, fair and responsive reaction to what was a car crash reaction from the manager who seemed completely myopic in his conclusion to our complaint. Will sadly not be returning to this establishment. I thoroughly recommend the curry village and at worst you have another alternative within the village.

22/12/24 Sunday family lunch in the restaurant. Absolutely beautiful annexe which apparently was only fitted out a few months ago by new owners. Festive and stunning. Started with various starters, including the whitebait and the breadcrumbed brie. Then the mains. This has to be one of the best roasts we have had out for a long time. Son(13) and I shared the sirloin beer platter for 2, wife had the lamb roast and the younger kids had the turkey. Meat cooked just right, and good range of vegetables (including creamy cauliflower cheese). The staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't have been nicer. Great place.

I visited The Six Bells on Friday with a large group, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. To start, I ordered a cheesy garlic bread as a side for my chicken burger. It arrived well before the main meal, but to my disappointment, there was no cheese on it. By the time the rest of the food came, it was cold and unappetizing. When my main meal did arrive, I was disheartened to see the portion size. The burger came with just a small handful of chips, some of which were burnt. It was evident they hadn’t prepared enough chips for the meals being served, as it looked like we were at least two portions short across the group. The burger itself was dry and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the onion rings that were supposed to accompany the meal were forgotten. They eventually turned up about five minutes later in a communal bowl for the table rather than on individual plates, which was disappointing. While the food quality was underwhelming, I must commend the staff member serving us. Despite being clearly overworked and rushing around trying to manage everything, he remained polite and professional. I chose not to raise these issues directly with him, as it was clear he was under a lot of pressure. Overall, this visit was a letdown. The disorganized service and subpar food didn’t meet expectations, and I hope improvements are made for future diners.

We thought the menu one of the best we had seen for ages – cleary prepared with great care and knowledge of ingredients and sustainability. The service too was good – we had a very good waiter, attentive and knowledgeable. Since everything on the menu, including the daily specials, looked so toothsome we found it rather hard to choose. In the end between the four of us we tried most things and all were very good to excellent. Our first courses were plentiful, the mains a good size and very well prepared, and with sides of imaginatively-prepared vegetables we were very well fed. That did not stop us having a chocolate mousse and crème brûlée for pudding, both of which were outstanding. The building itself is wonderful. This place so strongly deserves to succeed. Given the current difficulties of recruiting good people in the hospitality industry, it’s done well to have a great cohort of keen young and enthusiastic staff. Though it is a long journey for us, we would not hesitate to go back .

We have been buying take-outs from here from a few years now. Previously the food has been very good and the Oriental Express has been one of our favourites. Unfortunately, the past two occasions have been very disappointing, the food has been tough to eat and overcooked. The prawn crackers were stale. Has there been a change of chef?
