The best restaurants in Lymington Town New Forest South East

Having a Christmas break in our caravan in The New Forest and fancied a cooked breakfast on Christmas Eve. Went to Lymington and saw there was a Wetherspoons but thought we'd keep walking down the High Street. Came across Tres Bon - wow. We were so pleased we'd kept looking. Lovely welcome from the waitress and the chef. I chose large cooked breakfast and my wife chose scrambled eggs on toast. Both breakfasts arrived promptly on very hot plates - which was a nice change. My cooked breakfast was one of the best that I'd ever had. Bacon was cooked exactly as I'd asked - nice and crispy. Plenty of buttered toast. Only £8.95. My wife's scrambled eggs were also cooked exactly as she'd asked. There were quite a few locals in the cafè which is an endorsement of the quality and value for money. We're in the New Forest all week, so will be returning to Tres Bon on Friday.

Visited the Sail inn with my uncle who lives in Lymington. Previous experience at the pub had been very good however this visit has left a very poor taste in the mouth. While the fish and chips were adequate the use of some sort of paper to "soak up the oil" from the food was less than appetizing for my uncle who is elderly. While the stated serving hours were 12 to 3pm when I requested dessert and coffees we were told the kitchen was closed as the chef "had to be somewhere" Given the choice of quality establishments in Lymington we obviously regretted choosing The Sail Inn and won't be doing so in the future - the fact there was no warning that the kitchen was closing early is annoying however the actual decision to shut early on a Friday lunchtime in a competive marketplace is beyond me.

Recently been advised to lay off the caffeine and have, in consequence, been drinking some pretty awful drinks. However, this place was a complete revelation. Their decaf americano was far and away the best coffee that I have drunk in weeks. Bags of flavour, deep colour and generally well presented. I cannot speak for their other coffees, but I imagine they were pretty good too, judging by the number of customers present. A good range of cakes and pastries were well displayed in this café, which also stocks a range of deli-type produce.

A fantastic spot for coffee lovers. The drinks are consistently smooth, rich, and full of flavor, with plenty of options to choose from. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax or catch up with friends. Jack’s passion for great coffee and customer service really shines through — highly recommend checking it out!

Just had the mushrooms on sourdough with Morcilla. Flavour was amazing. Recommend extra bacon too.

Thank you for a wonderful Christmas Lunch for Lymington WI. Everyone thought it was excellent and would like to return next year .

As always the food was delicious and the service very friendly. Gavin goes out of his way to use the highest quality ingredients and will even get liver in for my husband even if it’s not on the menu. Would highly recommend, best Sunday Roast Beef out!

Thanks to Armet and his team for a warm welcome, great atmosphere, Prosecco & very good food. Six ladies of a certain age thoroughly enjoyed a pre-Christmas lunch and definitely will visit again

All I can say is the experience was average. Nothing wowed me, the coffee was mediocre and the service was not at all personal.

We'd heard about The Tinker's Granddaughter through a friend and so decided to try it out for ourselves and booked the Sunday Roast Club - we were not disappointed! The service was friendly and welcoming and the food was incredible. It was our first time trying Juicy Marbles steaks and I have to say, they were the best meat substitute I've ever had. The only downside was that the room was quite crammed. We ordered first and by the time our food was served, people were still queuing right behind us to order theirs - which I understand is unavoidable but did hinder the experience a bit. I also treated myself to a tiramisu to take away, which again was the best plant based tiramisu I've had. We loved the experience so much that we've already booked again for June!

I booked a table here, from the website,and came here today for lunch with My Dad and his Partner. We were delighted with the restaurant it was warm and welcoming, Food and drinks were swiftly delivered and delicious. Lovely friendly happy staff too. What a hidden gem I have discovered here. Thankyou ⭐️❤️🎄👍 We shall return
