The best restaurants in Godalming Central and Ockford Waverley South East

(From a visiting northerner) I was really impressed with the service here, staff went over and above to make my experience as pleasant as possible.

I ordered a steak today and it was amazing and tender! I was able to meet the chef Charlie I think it was? Luckily was able to catch her as she went to the talk to the bar staff. And was able to pull her to one side where she told me she was the grill chef. Of which I told her that it was the best steak I’ve ever had! Absolutely amazing food!

this is without a doubt the best pub in godalming.very good food with very good ales,on top of that the guys running it are just fantastic,a must for anyone in godalming

Rarely do I give a poor review. But here goes. Service seemed to be a chore to them. No ventilation so when a smoking tikka came out it had the wholerestaurant coughing. Asked for deserts and they looked baffled at the idea. Food was OK. Not bad not good. Very small inside so our table for 4 was more like a table for 2 size. I will not be revisiting.

Food arrived lovely and hot! Was yummy and lots of chicken in the sauce! Definitely will order again!

Was very fun to get drunk kebabs ant and I very much enjoyed it. It provided a very good bonding experience for me and my other adult volunteers.

I was part of a group of 19 that dinned here the evening before my sisters wedding. The staff were lovely and professional. The service was good and the food arrived quickly, despite the amount of people. Everyone enjoyed their food! Great vegetarian and vegan options.

Very nice coffee, the cake was fresh. The service was excellent. In need of a Coffee Break with a Mince Pie then head to Caffè Nero Godalming and try the Winter Blend Great Coffee Great Atmosphere

We are regular customers at this beautiful restaurant,food is delicious with lots of vegan and vegetarian dishes too,service is always consistent especially from Ibrahim which is credit to this branch.

The service was very bad. We had to get up from our table to place our orders. Not being very hungry, I only ordered a side: the tomato salad (according to the menu with basil and shallots) was awful. Not only were the tomatoes absolutely tasteless, they were cold (tomatoes are never put in a fridge) and they were served without shallots. Still hungry, I ordered (by going up to the bar to do so) a starter, bread with an almond romesco dip. I had to wait for about 20 minutes to be served with tasteless stale bread. I was not enamoured by the dip, but that may be because it was not to my taste, so please try for yourself.

One of the nicest, best value for money cafes in Godalming. Have been here a few times, and whilst it isn’t cheap, i don’t mind paying more when the quality and experience is better than any chain coffee shops on the high street. I had a delish panini, there’s lots of choice, and it even came with a nice side salad and crisps. The choice of drinks and sweet treats is always lovely too.

There is simply nothing to praise about this place, the staff or the food. Avoid. Having served bottles of beer it took over an hour to get any attention and another hour before food was delivered to the table. The rushed and slightly grumpy owner of the place was assisted by a scruffy looking person in a basball hat; a person with a “not my place mate, I’m only helping out” uninterested attitude.
