The best restaurants in Haslemere East and Grayswood Waverley South East

Another fantastic stay at Harpers. I stayed for 7 days this time and everything about the stay was perfect. The room was a great size had everything I needed. The food every day was faultless and Mel and her team couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommend!!

We had a very disappointing experience. We had chosen the restaurant to meet up with friends for lunch. When we arrived it seemed we were expected for tea - at 1230. Despite email confirmation for lunch and mentioning a menu choice. The lunch menu is light meals only, but even so the food was unappetising and poor. A big let down despite the smart grounds.

We took my Mum for lunch on Saturday to celebrate her 86th birthday. We were given a lovely table in front of the log fire. The pub was busy. The ambience was very friendly and welcoming. The food was good and the service very relaxed and attentive. They are dog friendly. Mum was even serenaded by the chef and two of the team - and presented with a lovely slice of cheesecake and a personal birthday message. Well done! We will be back. The White Horse is definitely the best option in the local area, for a quick drink and a snack or a full meal. Plus, the menu is very competitively priced.

Superb experience - both food and service. The ambience of the place was great too - warm, bright and spacious. We were brilliantly looked after by Erin and her colleagues who recommended dishes and made sure we weren’t kept waiting. The food was great. We had two nibbles to start things off - padron peppers and pigs in blankets. I had a Flash steak and salad for my main and Taz had a plant burger. The potions are healthy which was great. I somehow managed a bread and butter pudding with spiced custard for dessert that topped off an excellent culinary experience. We will definitely return.

—- UPDATE: spoke to the store who gave us fresh pizzas (plus a couple of starters/drinks) to make up for the shortfall. They were very nice people too! Editing and increasing review to reflect. Unbelievably shoddy pizzas and not at all up to the Pizza Express standard when we ordered tonight via Deliveroo. Website said click and Collect wasn’t available, otherwise we’d have happily collected in person. When receiving the order we were met with cold food (bear in mind the restaurant is <2 mins drive from our house) with honestly 10% of the toppings you’d expect in house.
