The best restaurants in Clifton East Bristol, City of South West

Been coming here from Gloucester for almost 5 years now and it’s never failed. Mouth watering food, great and friendly staff and always a table free to sit down and enjoy

This is a lovely restaurant serving the best pizzas in Bristol! - but then I'm biased because it is owned by a friend of the family. All the same it is perfect for a family night out and there are midweek deals and little perks to be had here and there and the tables feel private and the seating comfortable even though it is a very lively place at times and you enjoy the people watching and sharing the good vibes. The pizza is top dollar and even though the menu is carefully limited, you can choose all sorts of extra toppings and there are lovely little extras like the fried anchovies with aioli dip and the lovely deep fried tempura courgette strips. This is a lovely place.

Evening meal on a Saturday. Having not visited for a year, upon arriving I immediately noticed a difference. Waited in the reception area and nobody came for ages. Noticed that the desk was shabby. Bad first impression. The food was all tepid. Nothing was very hot. Tried small samples of about 10 dishes but there wasn't one that I could say wow! I really enjoyed that. My companion said the same. Garlic bread was rock hard. Most of the chicken dishes tastes the same and the chicken Korma sauce was runny and watery. No peshawarI nan like you get at ZaZa and only 2 pizza flavours. Chocolate fountain turned off and no strawberries. A dessert consisting of bananas in custard is very poor. The ladies toilets were disgusting, with blocked toilets and no soap and water everywhere. Scruffy decor. Staff were polite, but between the ambience, choice, food quality and price, ZaZa is in the lead. Unless the whole management changes and shakes this place up, my feet will speak by going to their competitor for the foreseeable future.

An okay pub, but wow drinks are expensive. Over £4 for a coke! Won't be returning

My wife have been going to Racks for over 20 years and had booked their New Years event. Wow the team 100 % delivered in every part of our experience. The amazing welcome at the entrance, to the team behind the bar, the buffet and of course the drinks. A special thank you to the management team who made sure that their own team were able to celebrate the Chimes at midnight.

Staff are great and drinks are made well. However, all of the chairs are really quite uncomfortable and the whole place needs a bit of a revamp. A lot of the crockery is chipped and stained etc too.

Food delicious, however please stop placing burgers on paper! We ate the paper with it as it got glued on...not ideal.

Grrat Sunday lunch served in an 18th century Inn with real character, ticked away almost invisibly near the top of Black Boy Hill. Super and atmospheric. Lovely staff.

We had such lovely service but the food was shocking and when we brought this to the attention of the manager, she confronted us, gin in hand , and was very rude. Such a shame as it really spoilt our evening. Would not recommend.

I was treated to a Long table Feast by my family as a birthday present. It was great from start to finish. Picked up from car park to ride down in Land Rover. Shown to table and sat alongside other special diet customers. Such a relief to be able to enjoy a meal without worry of eating things I shouldn’t. The menu contained some things that were new to me and were all enjoyed. The icing on the cake was to go and meet Chiara in the kitchen. What a lovely and talented young lady she is. Thank you everyone for such a special evening.

Nunca hemos estado en este restaurante, pero solo confiamos en las críticas. Somos amantes de los mariscos. Nuestra experiencia aquí no fue genial! Nos sirvieron mariscos que nos parecieron no muy frescos. El risotto de langosta era un muñeco de musgo en un tazón y era tan salado - que realmente tienes que buscar los bocados de langosta. Los precios que cobran no justifican lo servido, como en calidad y cantidad. Supervisor grosero. ¡Muy decepcionante!

I don't usually review places but thought i'd leave one as I tried a takeaway from this place despite the rating being particularly low on google (risky in my books!) but glad I did, as the food was insanely good value for money. Much cheaper than any other curry houses in the area, and very speedy and tasty food. Even some extra free food given to us too! 20% off collection is great. thank you
