The best restaurants in Budleigh East Devon South West

We had a crab sandwich yesterday and were surprised at the price of £15.95 each but we ordered them anyway. We found the sandwiches were much smaller than usual and not so tasty. On checking my bank statement I see that Rockfish has taken over. Probably explains high price and smaller sandwiches. Just £9.95 further down the beach at 50⁰ North and much better quality.

My partner and I visited this first class restaurant for only the second time with three of my Grandchildren this time. We live in Merseyside, but in Devon this is definitely one of the places to visit. Staff very kind and friendly, food first class and my eight year old enjoyed Chicken Nuggets and chips. Well there is something for everyone.

We popped in to see what was happening with the cafe and when it was re-opening, to be told by Betty, the owner, that she hoped to open sometime before Christmas. The new decor was lovely and bright with quirky upcycling. Really looking forward to being a customer there!

Fancied trying this place for a while, we had an absolutely delicious starter of Pate, best I’ve tasted for a long time. Then we had ordered lasagne of which I can only describe as worse than a supermarket ready made! There was hardly any meat in it, too much liquid which made it a sloppy mess! I couldn’t finish it so I did complain and was given a reduction on mine! The owner was acting like a child barking at one of the staff and it was totally a very unpleasant experience! No ambiance at all. This is purely based on my opinion and experience on the evening. It was a special celebration which was ruined. I would have had a better experience in a chain restaurant! The waiters were pleasant and obviously the cooking is not down to them. Won’t be returning!

Café ubicado dentro del Amo Alpa City Suites ofrece comida caliente de piedra. Probé el bife de Lomo en mi plato caliente de piedra y fue el bistec más increíble que he probado en mi vida. La carne era muy jugoso, fresco, tierna y sabrosa. Mi costilla era perfectamente mármol para mantener es muy sabroso. Cada bocado de la carne era cálido y cocinadas exactamente el camino que quería. Tienes que probar para creer!

Several visits to this excellent pub. Great Sunday lunch and simple well cooked evening meals. Great staff and a great atmosphere

Lovely setting, friendly staff, excellent food. We had the Roast Beef with a side of Cauliflower cheese and an extra portion roast potatoes. Everything was beautifully presented. Very happy and will definitely visit again. Would recommend.

Another visit and another excellent Gluten Free Haddock & chips. It’s the best take away Fish &Chips I’ve eaten! We always pop in when we are in the area.

You don’t have to go to Brittany for an Idyllic setting and the freshest seafood. Great service and great value.

I am a local resident and we order from here on an almost weekly basis and this place never fails to disappoint. Roast duck chow mein is particularly delicious. Friendly helpful staff.

Called in after a mornings hike for a Sunday dinner. Was seated upstairs which was a lovely room. The staff were great and the food only took about 10 minutes to arrive. A very pleasant experience.
