So many pubs have gone Gastro, been Gentrified or have been refurbished to suit a 'trendy' market. Not the New Inn though thank goodness. This is a traditional British Village Pub, focussed on providing well kept beer by a genial landlord who interacts with his customers really well even though he may never have met them before. The locals are just as friendly; they welcome a chat with you about anything under the sun. The food offering is really good basic pub grub - no Jus here - with a limited menu which majors on burgers and extremely good steaks. Food volume and cost are both outstanding - with the former you get a lot, with the latter you pay very little. Long may the New Inn thrive and prosper, keep up the good work Landlord!

I wasn’t sure how good Table8 would be but I brought some of my friends in for dinner. Their reaction has been awesome. Though we heared from the locals that the price has gone high, the food is very good. I had a Relish gohts, it was full of flavour and cooked with perfection. We left nothing on our plates.

Dear Sweets, I'm writing to say a massive THANK YOU for one of your staff helping out one of our group on our annual 100 mile ride on Sunday. When we arrived she had just slid into one of the drainage channels on the other side of Glastonbury. It was a scary moment, she is nearly 70 years old and had become totally submerged. We had to drag her out and she was absolutely soaked and covered in sludge. The thing that kept her going was the fact that we were aiming for Sweets and may find help there. When we arrived, you were amazing and let her use a hot shower, with toiletries and a towel. On behalf of our club, Wincanton Wheelers, we can't thank you enough...….. BTW, she did carry on and complete the full 100 miles (she said afterwards that if it hadn't been for the shower, bacon roll and latte she probably would've stopped). With thanks and love, Fran, Debi, Julia, Paul, Russ and Richard xx

Absolutely beautiful food in a stunning village. I had the Wild mushroom & celeriac stroganoff, with miso roasted chestnuts. Wow, perfectly cooked, with a moorish flavor and sauce. My friend had the Free range turkey, glazed parsnip, turkey butter roasted potatoes. He also was very happy with his lovely food. For dessert, an incredible sourdough bread pudding with a homemade butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream. Delicious coffee as well. I will return often. Wonderful service as well.

Looking for that elusive short-break hideaway where a fabulous old pub, warm welcome, delightful decor, and scrumptious food combine in a heartwarming cocktail of indulgent joy? Well, look no further than the Swan, an old coaching inn nestling in the quintessentially charming Somerset village of Wedmore. This is what winding down and spoiling yourself, and one another, is all about. I cannot compliment the owners and staff enough for their attention to detail, meticulous customer service and all-round bonhomie. Why jump on a plane when you can wallow in this sumptuous pocket of paradise! 👏🤗

A traditional British pub with a welcome and diverse menu. The individual-portion Moussaka (no slice from a tray-bake here) was delicious and accompanied by a fresh, crisp Greek salad. The 'house red' was a wonderful.y smooth merlot on this night (I forgot to seek details). My partners Cajun chicken was equally delicious. The price was reasonable for the high quality of the food and attentive - but not intrusive, service. One minor downside is the limited parking for what is a popular destination.

Arrived at the cosy pub with a warm welcome from friendly staff. Saturday evening dinner with friends, ordered Bangers & Mash, Sirloin steak, Ham egg & chips followed by pudding......Delicious!! Popped in the following morning for a Full English, which was superb. We shall be back. Thank you.

Stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas period whilst visiting family. A very friendly pub with stylish restaurant. Food was very good. The Ceraliac Soup was delicious: unctuous and smooth; Fish ’n’ Chips were fab: really crispy chips and batter; salmon and eggs for breakfast started the day well although the Full English, with local, ingredients was very tempting but I wasn’t that hungry. My room was spacious, stylish and warm. A most enjoyable stay.
