If I could give no stars I would. I went here with my partner our 2yr old and his parents. Walked in at lunch time on a Saturday and it was totally dead, cold and smelly. The floor was so sticky like it hadn’t been mopped properly for a long time. We’d booked a table and they had set it for us but when we sat down it was covered in beer and food! The menus were covered in beer and food and everything by was filthy. I asked for the table to be cleaned and pointed out the broken glass on the floor. The server looked at the broken glass then just left it there! There were so many staff and barely any customers. Most of the clientele consisted of single middle aged men drinking on their own. There were several massive to screens playing sports which was totally overkill for such a small pub. A good sized eating area and beer garden were completely empty and very rough looking. The food was very disappointing given the price and did not at all make up for the fact that the pub was filthy. I asked for a kids mac and cheese and they said they didn’t have any but could do an adults one! We all laughed at how ridiculous that was and paid full price just so we could eat and leave as soon as possible. The adult portion itself wasn’t even enough for my toddler it was so tiny! I had a lasagne which was tiny and had virtually no meat in it. Others had baguettes which were massively overpriced for what they were. The garlic bread was obviously frozen and the food in general was very small and substandard for the price - the whole experience, and the food, was a huge disappointment to our entire party who had been here once before some years ago for Christmas dinner and it was lovely - has obviously changed management since then. Not sure what else there is in Thornbury these days but def don’t waste your time or money here!

Just changed hand. Craig who I have known for years has taken on the mantle. Good pub and always someone I know in there, everyone friendly

Thai Basil was closed for January, so we came here instead. We ordered the Nasi Goreng which arrived in very small bowls and my heart sank. The Nasi Goreng itself was really delicious. Really nice, but the portion size at nearly £14 was tiny. So lovely staff and food, but small portions and overpriced.

My son and I have breakfast here on a Saturday morning regularly and it never fails to satisfy. I’ve not had a Sunday roast here or other menu items for sometime so can only comment on the breakfast. The breakfast is always delicious, with well cooked quality ingredients and good value for money. Other establishments on the High Street also offer breakfast but you would pay considerably more. To compliment the breakfast they have a coffee machine and a selection of coffees, flavoured syrups and alternative milks . The staff are always very friendly and the food comes out very quickly.

Great coffee in mugs the size of a soup bowl if you want it. Nice spacious cafe with comfy seating and a good selection of snacks and cakes too.

Ordered online home delivery which cost £3. Turned up 45 minutes late and cold. Called and sent back and had to chase another 30 minutes for collection. New food turned up still cold, very watery and tasteless. saag Baji dripping in water. Worst Indian i've ever had. Will never go back. Stick with thornbury tandoori...best in thornbury.

Visited a few years ago for dinner and was mightily impressed but Sunday lunch recently was very poor, the web menu neared no relation to the menu we were given, although the list looked appetising ( and more expensive) steak was poor and underdone and grisly. Won’t go again

Bar staff a lad with blond hair blowing bubble gum bubbles out of his mouth today getting spit from the white gum he was chewing. Had egg n chips. Eggs were full of lard. Bread was hard. Come home we both were sick all afternoon bringing up eggs. The pumpkin latte was nice. But won't be having any more food in there. We seen a dirty chef. Looked like the was on day release from layhill prison.

The fish and chips is fine, but they are advertising gluten free when they don't actually offer it unfortunately. They advertise gluten free on Sundays, but when you actually call them up to ask they won't make it, presumably because it's too much effort to make up a fresh batch Update - I followed the instructions they replied with below and they ignored me. Issue still isn't resolved
