The best restaurants in Old Town and Lawn Swindon South West

The food options were great and the food was delicious, unfortunately the service was poor, there were lots of servers however they weren’t paying attention to the tables, they were often all at the bar chatting, we had to ask to order drinks every time, had to ask to order food, we asked for dessert menus and waited 15 minutes and had to ask again to order. We were sat opposite the bar where they were talking too! The servers were welcoming and polite, I just feel like they should have been more proactive and spending more time focusing on their customers. It’s understandable when restaurants are super busy and they’re rushing around but I don’t feel like this was the case. This was my first time visiting so may have been a one off.

Amazing little place, come across it by accident. A couple of beers next door wanted some food. Bar / restaurant area is cozy and relaxed, music is chilled and service is outstanding. Food, if you want a great burger this is the place for you. Got love a smash burger!! Highly recommend. Thanks to all the amazing staff, you were amazing.

Fantastic restaurant, we were greeted with a smile , the waitress for very pleasant and helpful, the gluten free options were brilliant, I had cod and chips , it was very tasty. The children loved the indoor play area and the games room with a PlayStation 5, x box , gaming computer and tv for films for was huge suprise. We would definitely re visit this restaurant in the future.

Food was ok. Little communication from the staff, only to regular customers, where really a standard greeting should be shown to all customers. One lady, who presumed to be cooking, was quite loud on her phone telling the person on the other end, that she did not want to be having this conversation. We did did know whether she was talking to a customer, staff member, or someone on the phone! Following that conversation, she continued to put down what was believed to be a girl/lady working on Saturday that was not pulling her weight! Really, customers do not want to hear it. We haven’t been to The Pantry for some while, but will certainly not be rushing to return!

best cooked steak dinner in a long time

We came in especially for a steak. As soon as we entered Laurie was very welcoming. Laurie was extremely efficient on info and order taking. Very helpful. Logan was organising condiments and was tireless in sorting it all out. The steak itself was amazing. Perfection. My colleague, a true foodie, said the same thing. Chips perfect. Peas perfect. Peppercorn sauce out of this world. Suffice to say, all round excellence. We will be back 💯

Just a lovely eating experience. Staff very welcoming and attentive. They went over and above expectations and Runni the Manager was very chatty and engaging. I would say this is one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve experienced, the food was delicious, very flavoursome and presented very well. We were visiting Swindon, so not local, but we have already promised ourselves a return visit!

Wow. We have been a few times to the new venue and tonight surpassed every meal we have had so far. My son and I had the Beef On The Rocks and my god, the steak was cooked to perfection, a beautiful piece of meat, delicious sauce, new potatoes and steaming hot fresh veg. Absolutely superb. My husband had the Katsu Curry Burger and love it. I had the Lychee Cooler Mocktail which makes a nice change from Coke Zero when not drinking. It looked fun and tasted delicious. Superb service as always, a win all round. Many thanks.

Just had a programme of fresh juices delivered, and the juices are wonderful. Thank you so much and I will be ordering again for sure:-)

The manager and chef is fantastic. Be took the time to explain the menu and played attention to my allergy. The oysters were some of the next we’ve had, they were so fresh and the dips were fantastic. The small plates were very good, we just wish we’d had more oysters rather than filled up on the small plates. Can’t fault this place, the whole team were polite and attentive, food was amazing and we’ll be back

Just come home from having a coffee at this venue for the first time. Nice coffee, lovely views and as it has been a nice day we sat outside. We wouldn't want to sit inside as the cafe itself is not very welcoming and quite soulless which is a shame as a lot could be done to make it a more pleasant place to sit. We doubt that we'll be going back.

Just had a delivery tonight and had an item missing. First time had something missing. Called them and they rectified it straight away even though it was just an additional pitta bread. The kebab was HUGE, hot and tasty. Can’t fault it or the service from the guy in the phone when I called about the missing item.

Ordered two cappuccinos with oat milk, took 15mins to then have to be remade as made with normal milk. Coffee was then served luke warm but after then reading previous reviews, didn't want to mention it as I didn't want to get verbally abused by the manager. First and last visit!

Fantastic food and super quick service, even on a Saturday night!
