The food was amazing as always!

We last visited this restaurant 20 years ago when we lived locally so as we were back in Paignton we decided to return with some friends….testament to the restaurant still being open and still being amazing but what was unbelievable was the same waiter was still there!! He said he had worked there for 22 years…not sure if he remembered me but I definitely remembered him because he was brilliant and made our evening very special!!! The food by the way is outstanding 👌👌👌

We went for cocktails and staff were very quick with orders. No food on offer when we visited, or would have stayed longer. Love the cocktails and think they are a fair price.

Walked in without booking, had a lamb biriani, my husband had chicken ,it's the best we ever had ,definitely recommend this restaurant 👌

Booked a table to dine at 20:30 ,it was quiet but prefer to know we have a table.We like the moules as a main, with warm bread 🥖 and fries. Staff are allways welcoming and attentive, the vibe upstairs is charming, and particularly relaxed after the madness of New Year. Will return again, when in Paington 😘

This was my first visit to this pub. I found the atmosphere was great, the staff very efficient and polite. Will be calling again

I looked on line for restaurants in Paignton to book up for my sons birthday. He works in Dartmouth so we bring our caravan down to visit him a few times a year. Read reviews about La Scala and booked a table. During the booking I mentioned we were coming to celebrate my sons birthday. I was asked his name and I gave it. We were surprised to find the manager or owner, Maximillian had decorated our table , put a banner in the window and a birthday card from the staff. Wonderful, warm welcome. Restaurant is not large but small and comfortable. From the reviews I had read I expected the food to be good but it far exceeded our expectations. Lots of choice for starters and main meals . Also nice that the manager took the time to chat to us. What a relaxing experience. Water and fresh bread was brought to the table whilst we perused the menu. Once decided we enjoyed the house wine which was reasonably priced and quite pleasant. We had a mixture of starters which were outstanding and decent sized portions. We tasted each others and all three were superb. Frequent visits to ensure we were satisfied were made by the Manager . If we thought the starters were good we were amazed how good the main meals were. Warm , tasty and well presented. An absolute delight. Didn't really have room for dessert but squeezed one in. Again smashing, decadent but nice !! The ambience in the restaurant was very good, we felt quite at home and relaxed throughout the evening. Even more surprised when a birthday cake with candles was brought to our table and staff and guests sang Happy Birthday. My adult son had a good laugh. All I can say is don't hesitate when you look for Italian restaurants, this is the one to go to. It looks a little small from the outside but there is enough room to be cosy and comfortable and has an expansive menu. Spoilt for choice. Will I go again. Can't wait. Thank you to Maximillian and staff for such a pleasant evening . We will certainly recommend you to friends and family especially those that come to that area with their caravans, boats etc. A visit to La Scala should be included in any visit to Paignton or surrounding areas.

Was going to dine in another local restaurant, but luckily, they weren't open. Had their cod & chips, which was beautiful. Very friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

We chose cupcake cafe as they do the best selection of cream teas not just jam like most places! We had the sunshine cream tea served with lemon curd&clotted cream ,scones a good size fresh fluffy and a nice homemade taste! They also do savory ,chocolate spread ,syrup & ginger preserve! 2 for £12

Amazing high tea, we all enjoyed Brie and Cranberry sandwiches with ours with the added option of having them toasted, a nice touch. Staff were friendly and accommodating, would 100% come back. Thank you Cupcake Cafe!

Fantastic! Group of 6 had various meal choices tonight, all of which were excellent. I had the jungle curry, which was cheeky, but full of flavour. Really good. Wine was not overly priced, and was very good.

Excellent cafe. Especially loved that they had porridge on the menu. Also toasters at the tables was fab, my son loved being able to do his toast his way!

Our normal ' go to" was closed today so popped in to Mo's diner. Wow what a find. I had lamb kofta kebab and my partner full breakfast. His breakfast was well presented. Pipping hot and delicious. My lamb kofta was on another level. Tender. Tasty with well done crispy onions. Pitta bread and fresh salad. No way could eat it all so they doggy bagged it for me. To the reviews who said staff were rude... Did you go to the same place? The waitresses were efficient and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and they couldn't do enough for us. Greeted everyone with a smile and hello This place is spotlessly clean and as frim todsy is our new "Go to" Highly recommend
