Very charming hotel stay, amalgamating the old and the new. Spacious and clean rooms, courteous and smiling staff made our stay memorable. We tried food and beverage in bar and the restaurant and it was excellent. Their scones served in the afternoon tea were very fresh and one of the best we had. Will def be back if we are around here next.

15 of enjoyed a fantastic spicy lunch, sharing a wide selection of "small dishes" before our main course. Everyone was very happy with their meal. I seem to have the highest tolerance level for spice and the Firecracker chicken did not disappoint. It is a little sweet and you can pick out some of the chilli slices if you wish. Other members of our party recommended the dishes they tried. The food is not kept hot under heat lamps but it is served as soon as it is ready. With refillable green tea, it was excellent value. No one had room for a dessert. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Having a few days off of work we decided to treat ourselves to a nice breakfast. Potters did not disappoint, lovely warm welcome, from the ladies serving. We chose to sit upstairs as downstairs was bustling and busy, a good sign of a popular place. The upstairs room is lovely, it would make an ideal venue for a private function or family gathering. Our drinks and breakfast orders were taken swiftly, we chose the half English breakfast and the vegetarian Breakfast. Both were absolutely delicious, cooked extremely well and very generous size portions. The sautéed potatoes, mushrooms and eggs on the vegetarian breakfast were fabulous as was the black pudding from my partners half English which I pinched!

The Coeliac Blogger: I'm in the top 10% of gluten free reviews and focus on options and quality. This lovely restaurant is one on the nicest places to eat, as a Coeliac, that cater for gluten free! They do a delicious gf warm Scone and a gluten free Breakfast! The only criticism is the gf bread isn't nice and vegan sausages! I'm not Vegan, there are plenty of normal sausages they are gluten free! Please get some better gf bread in. This place is still 5* eatery, relaxing location, plenty of seating outside and always very clear. A must visit for all, especially if you're Coeliac. 🙌

What a wonderful find, was looking for a roast and saw the sign outside. Debbie gave us and anyone who came in a very warm welcome. There regular customers there, everyone friendly we all chatted. The roast was delicious, would highly recommend when you are in the area. I will definitely go back. Nik and Julie

I really love supporting local pubs when I can, we popped in on a Friday evening when Tortilla Cantina organised a pop up restaurant, unfortunately being just after New years it was a little quiet, but the pub was lovely, the beer was reasonably priced. I highly recommend a pint of Tom Browns. My only criticism would be it was a freezing evening and the fire wasn’t lit and the back door was open, so it was a little draughty. Apart from that it was lovely.
